SO great.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was hesitant about the reviews regarding the app/iOS function. They have been addressed via FW updates. The inside view works great. I was a little disappointed by the damage caused by the delivery of this unit. When something looks so good and costs thousands you would think a little more care would be paid especially being I went out of my way to purchase this while our economy was tanking. I LOVE Best buy and I try to support them whenever I can. I am hoping this review is enough for them to reach out but we will see. The damage was a slight rub (I saw it happen) toward the top of the unit as well as a deep scratch (did not see it happen) on the bottom left face of unit. As an Elite+ member I am hoping they value my business enough to make this right in some way................ ANYWAYS here goes: Looks: Amazing don't have to say much as it speaks for itself. The unit itself is beautiful. This color is just something out of a showroom. I am an Apple fan/car guy and this falls right in line with space grey, Grey steel as well as the advertised black stainless steel. Honestly it is the pristine looks that even made it such a big deal regarding the damage. You bang up a 1995 corolla and life goes on. You scratch up your Ferrari and life goes on but trust you feel it even more than the card does. Performance: fantastic. I am able to fine tune my freezer/fridge to my liking. The drawers are VERY well placed. The bottom drawer freezer is some sort of black magic. I just do NOT understand how there is so much room when it looks so compact. I buy (groceries) and keep loading and this thing just eats it all up until I need where everything can be found and accessed thanks to the sliding drawers and positionable shelves etc. Size: not that much larger than my old fridge (says the specs) yet due to the clever layout this things seems 20-30% larger. Screen: Changed our lives. Not just saying it as our actual daily life has changed for the better. My son watches youtube on this thing. He actually prefers it. Our kitchen Google mini as well as Echo Dot have been rendered useless sending the google mini to the basement and the Echo Dot to its original box never to be seen again LOL. Kids can draw/paint their art right on the screen. You can save their art and even send to loved ones etc. You can post pictures if you wish and even put digital post its on the fly. Basically it is like having the usual magnets, pics and letters all over the fridge door which you can switch off at the press of a button. Oh yeah having your fridge let you know there is an incoming thunderstorm!?!?!? YES this thing does and it does it in such an elegant way. App: very easy to setup and very easy to use. Keeps up to date automatically and this whole thing is only as intrusive as you want it to be which is a big one for me. You can even view your refrigerators contents while you are away at the store. This thing even uses sw to identify and notify you what you are running out of IF you want it to of course.

So Far So Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this refrigerator after a long review of about 6 months or more. I read the reviews and talked to friends and family. I got a lot of advice not to buy a Samsung refrigerator from the reviews to family. Issues with ice maker and taking the chance with the new technology. After discussing my misgivings about the fridge with the Best Buy sales person and the idea Best Buy will back it up I decided to buy it. So far everything seems to work as expected. I love the Family Hub feature it has had a few internet connection issues which so far I have been able to correct just figure it is new so I have to get use to it. The family hub app isn’t the best it has glitches when I am loading it at the grocery store. I would like Samsung to try to fix the app. The space inside is perfect for me and my family. Plenty of room in lower freezer. The pullout deli tray is nice but if you overload it doesn’t pull out very easy so we have taken care what we put in the compartments. I will keep my final thoughts for later as I own it longer and hope the issue with ice maker doesn’t affect me. If it does I am hoping BB will be able to back me up. I took their word that I will be taken care of since Samsung isn’t very good at following up per other reviews. Best Buy did very well in their delivery and set up. I think they could have stepped that service up by going through instructions of operations. The geek squad in the tv area have done really good about taking the time to explain operations of the new product. The appliance team needs to take a cue from the entertainment team. As I said in title So Far So Good

Not all that it's made out to be.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The refrigerator started out ok, then two days after purchase it began to display an error code on 41c, stating that repair was needed to avoid food damage or something like that . I called samsung and they sent out a tech a few days later to "fix it". This tech company was not consumer-friendly, would not negotiate a time frame to come out and would only come out when they were available, regardless to if it was convenient to you or not. Two days after it was "fixed, but not really" it displayed the same error code. I called Samsung again, they apologized and set up a tech to come back. Samsung also stated that they would repair, replace or refund after this encounter if the issue wasnt fixed this next time. The tech comes out a few days later, looks at the refrigerator and says I dont know what is wrong with it, but I will call Samsung and let them know. A few days later I receive a call from Samsung stating that the computer screen on the refrigerator needs to be replaced and they will order another one and send a tech out to replace it. I stated to them that I no longer wanted the repair and wanted to return the refrigerator, because there were just too many issues. Samsung stated to me that I had to First have the refrigerator repair, then they will start the process of a refund. Ultimately I ended up returning the refrigerator back to the store, that I purchased it from and received a refund 2 Days Later. The store i returned it to was great, but Samsung not so much, too much run around.

Nice but I'd change a few things
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoy the family hub but I wish that the storage on the inside was built differently. My old LG was thought out better in regards to the inside spacing. The 2 are exactly the same cubic feet too. I love the family hub. Is it necessary, no, but I really like the convenience of the apps and calendar. We have 2 kids who have tons of extra curricular activities as well as Dad's work and Mom's PTO and volunteering.

Great Fridge
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a must have for the tech enthusiast or even the tech savvy parent. Some of the extra bells and whistles are very cool although unnecessary (i.e. camera in fridge, neat to show your friends, but provides no true value) but the Shopping List, Calender and Cooking Aps are easy to use and integrate with your phone. The Ring doorbell came with it and the software is loaded so it shows up on the door panel if someone rings the bell. Only reason I didn't give a 5 star is because like anything else with software, not everything runs smoothly as Samsung pushes updates. Eventually they fix themselves, but in the meantime some functionality may be loss (i.e. Screen Mirror currently doesn't work since their last update) Would definitely recommend to spend the extra money if you're already looking for something close to this price point.

A dream come true
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My dream is to open an Airbnb with the Samsung Family Hub being the star attraction. The video screen is amazing and easy to set up using your cell phone. The black stainless finish is gorgeous. Oh by the way the refrigeration part works great too. It is already saving on my food budget.

Nice fridge, fun features
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a 20+ year old side by side, so just having a refrigerator that cools properly is so nice. I love using the screen to listen to music while I am in the kitchen. The Food AI leaves a lot to be desired and doesn't work as I'd hope - i.e. it is supposed to scan your food items and log what you have but it can't seem to get the items right. Hopefully a fix comes soon and that works as it should. I love the space and the shelves that slide in, I can fit taller items like boxes of wine and big bottles. My kids enjoy the tablet and whiteboard for drawing notes. I got this for a good price, but if I were to do it again I'd probably skip the "smart fridge" and opt for a non-smart fridge, just due to tech overload in my own life. But, it is a great fridge. You can't go wrong with Samsung!

Better than I hoped!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was honestly a bit worried after reviews.. But I am beyond thrilled with mine! The adjustability of the shelves, large screen, apps, etc.. All stood up to my expectations. The fridge is quiet and produces ice quickly for my home. Speakers are surprisingly impressive for a fridge too!

Q: QuestionAre you able to download any additional apps on the device?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No. You are limited to what is available on the fridge, and will receive any app "updates" via a push update to the fridge. There really are only a few "apps", the rest are just icons that open settings. All this is assuming you can get it all connected at all. Plus, when you call Samsung, they will tell you that this fridge, does not exist. After emailing pics of the product code, and the front of fridge while on phone, several holds, managers, and 30 minutes of time later, low and behold, it does exist, however, they cannot provide answers or support, as they have none yet and supposedly the fridge that I'm standing in front of, isn't released yet.... I had to teach them how to connect. TIP, the "Samsung Hub" app, is a clone of the phone version, without the refrigerator option removed (so sloppy), plus there's basically zero support available, nor any detailed instructions in the manual or online, about basically any of the more advanced features, the very same features you purchased it for and paid a huge premium to have, as besides the tablet and "smart features", the entire fridge is underwhelming and sort of cheap looking and feeling (I can only speak for this model). Anyways, TIP-dont try to setup the fridge, on the fridge. Consider the fridge more like a smart "hub" of sorts. You CANNOT set up an item, on an item. So, you can setup all the other "smart" appliances and products (AC, Oven, washer/dryer, etc.), using the App on the fridge, but you cannot setup the fridge on the fridge. You must download the family hub app to your phone, then setup the fridge on your phone. If you have multiple home networks, make sure your phone and fridge are on the same network, download and setup/sign up app on phone, then go through the setup process on your phone. They don't know this, the customer service rep thanked me and said she had over 100 customers to call back as they cannot connect and she could not help them as there is no info available. Amazing. Once you do get it connected, the feature set is trial and error, and not as great as you think. Voice does not work, you supposedly can upload photos to the fridge, 10 at a time, but it fails EVERY TIME, until you figure out you really can only select one photo and upload that, one by one, and some still for an unknown reason at this point, say they uploaded successfully, but never show up. The cameras, although slightly useful, are actually just still images, of a very small area of the fridge, basically the top two shelves and that's it, and even that is distorted and not that useful as you can basically see what drinks you have. Speaking of the shelves, the design is completely unintuitive, and to be able to load say a gallon of milk, there's no way to configure the shelves, without losing half of a shelve on the second row down, and also losing the space behind that area. You cannot move the top shelf down, as the far left part folds up, and rests on the right side, so although in theory you should be able to just move the right half down, you cannot due to the unintuitive design. Oh yeah, the TV mirroring won't work, even though the fridge find the TV, it won't add and you just waste more time. VERY IMPORTANT TIP. I use a lot of Samsung products, until this experience, I purchased everything Samsung, from several TVs, one being a late model, 3D, wireless smart TV, to the NOTE 4 (wanted an S7, but you know, don't want to burn my house down or it explode), Samsung watches, 3, 27 inch curved Samsung monitors, smart watches in several generations, Bluetooth headphones, 3D Blueray, surround sound, etc. TIP-if you use a Samsung phone, you already most likely have a Samsung account, login, etc. When initially setting up the fridge and the "User accounts", it asks you to either setup a new account, or input an existing. Since the fridge will be used by more than myself, my son and wife use it also, I did not want to use my personal Samsung login, so I setup a new account, just for the fridge, for several reasons. I then tried over and over and over to connect, with no luck. Until I finally, and this is after hours of setting it up, decided to try inputting my existing account that is connected/used by my phone...more fun, to do so, it factory reset the entire fridge, like a HARD (lose all data and settings and start all over) FACTORY RESET. I then setup my user with my existing Samsung login info, and finally, connected. Once you are connected, you realize a lot of why you bought it, was an excellent marketing campaign, that was just that, marketing. I am a business owner, in the consumer electronics business actually. I invented, patented and sell a consumer electronic product, with products located in upwards of 15k locations, in currently 22 Countries, so I understand not only business, but this specific industry, very well. I also understand marketing very well, and I must say, they have done an outstanding job of marketing, they now just need to spend some time and money on QUALITY CONTROL (I'm on my 4th fridge, 2nd dishwasher and microwave, and qst dual flat top oven. Over a month later, and I still do not have fully functioning products, a dented, scratched, filthy inside top of the line fridge (this time, but at least it gets cold, has a power cord, and I can give my son food, unlike the first two), while I await yet another fridge and pray it has a power cord, gets cold, and isn't dented, scratched, or just flat out doesn't even turn on. My full review on this fridge is coming. Since it's been over a month long just debacle, it's at this point, just almost funny, the incompetence and just complete and total lack of customer care, customer service, and lack of quality control or quality...but it's not funny, nor fun, nor worth the hassles and stress. So, my review, if they even post it, I've held off on writing, to see if Samsung or Best Buy would step up and do the right thing, but they just are not and I can't waste anymore time on this. My review will be VERY DETAILED, and VERY LONG, but I just need a short break from the frustration of dealing with all this, the literally probably at least 20 calls, repeating my story over and over, just to get nowhere. My opinion, wait a while, and or buy a competitor that will be released within months, I'm not sure if I can write the name but a simple search will tell you. If you do buy, good luck, you've been warned. Hopefully this saves someone the just complete hassle I've been through, at least 5 days of missed work, lost food twice, I could go on forever, but will do so in a review. I think this addressed the initial question...wish I had better news as I also have wanted this fridge for a year, but waited for the prices to drop, so I'm beyond dissapointed, have not been treated well by either company, and trust this, buy the geek squad, because remember, you only have a 14 day return period.... TIP-Unless you have other Samsung smart products, you don't need to use the Samsung Connect, so just download and use the FAMILY HUB app, NOT the SAMSUNG SmartHome app. It has essentially zero features that are not available in the Family Hub app and just confuses people, including myself, and I currently have a smart home system, consisting of over 169 smart devices, so am very very familiar with IIT and smart home apps, products, hubs, etc. I still was confused. Trust me, read and reread my tips, save yourself a bunch of time and hassles. Also, see attached pics of just two of at least 10 cosmetic flaws, on my 3rd unit (qst one had no power cord, huh?, Second one didn't cool at all, 3rd and current, cosmetic issues all over inside and outside (the insides have all been FILTHY, full of manufacturing dirt, dust, plastic shavings, etc. Do yourself a favor and buy a can of stainless steal polish, a microfiber rag, and an approved cleaning agent, your going to need it.

Q: QuestionDoes the screen stay on when not being used? In other words, to make the screen illuminate do you have to touch it or is the screen always on?
Asked by Bjamin.
- A:Answer You can set the screen timeout and the screen saver but after the last family hub update, my screen almost never turns off anymore regardless of the settings. It mostly ignores everything in settings and just stays on whatever the last screen you left it on, pretty much forever.

Q: QuestionWe just bought this and the water drips and leaves a puddle under the water dispenser. Does anyone else have that problem
Asked by Queen.
- A:Answer Yes i had the same issue for approx 3 days. I was warned by the installers i would have this and i needed to fill up several glasses of water from the fridge for a couple days and it was stop. I put a piece of folded up paper towel at the bottom of the water dispenser and did as the installers suggested. After 2 maybe 3 days it no longer drips. Also throw out the first couple batches of ice that are made.
