From Chef's view point
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5After being without a stove for 5 months (due to backorder) I'm so far pleased. I read reviews that was and wasn't favorable. As far of unfavorable like cooktop being a problem getting clean if you use a ceramic glass cleaner it will help protect cooktop and clean the bottom of your pans! It's a new cooktop it will get much hotter than your previous so it will burn anything on the bottom of pan thus sticking to cooktop. And about oven taking too long to heat and temp is wrong. I timed each top took 10 minutes and bottom 15 and as 1 oven 14. Far as temp not correct if you read your manual it tells you how to adjust if it's to high or low. So overall I think this is a good range. If something changes my mind believe me I will come back and make it known.

Looks aren't everything...
Posted .Pros mentioned:Design, Features, HeatingCons mentioned:Glass top, WarrantyWe've owned this model range for 1 month. As a result of normal use, there is irreversible damage to the glass top. Online consumer reviews will warn you about this. We called Samsung and they describe it as cosmetic damage, which is not covered by warranty. We are still within the exchange period, so I think we are just going to get a different one. That's not as simple as it sounds because we replaced all of our appliances with Samsung products. It looks like we are going to have exchange everything as a result because we don't want mismatching appliances. So that means, best case scenario, we find comparable products at comparable prices from a different manufacturer and over the course of the next 2-3 weeks we go through the process of installing a dishwasher, microwave, range, and refrigerator all over again. Joy. The warming compartment drawer is slightly crooked and gets stuck in the out position. I called Samsung to get new parts and offered to fix it myself, since it just looked like the sliding rails were damaged during install from Best Buy. They sent the wrong parts, but I was able to correct the "getting stuck" problem, though the misalignment remains. To be fair, the product isn't all bad. The dual oven works great and heats up quickly. The design is great and clean. So much so if fact, that's it's hard to see the damage to the glass top in the pictures I provided. If you look close you will see bubbling, flecking, and smudging. If I had to put a number on it, we've used the large burner that has the damage 15 times or less. So, the product looks great and meets our needs in terms of features and performance. The quality is poor that it dwarfs the positive features. It was a nice fling Samsung, but it's time to look for a long term relationship.

DO NOT BUY.
Posted .Features
Quality1 out of 5Value2 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5At first look the range looks and works well. After using the range a few months and through normal cleaning with soap and water, the finish peels off. For the amount of money we pad for this range, I would think the finish would stay on it. I hope the same thing doesn't happen to our fridge. 3 year warranty does not include repairs of this kind and the Samsung company will not repair either. Save yourself the headache and money and stay away from this brand.

Peeling Finish on Black Stainless
Posted .Do not purchase black stainless steel from SAMSUNG. After 14 months, my range finish is peeling off and looks hideous. We have followed their manual to the "T" in terms of cleaning. Samsung/Geek Sq. will not repair as they consider the issue cosmetic instead of a defect in materials or workmanship and as it most certainly appears from the growing number of complaints. Disgraceful

Very happy so far!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Features, SettingsLoving this oven so far! The double oven feature is fantastic, especially when preparing those big holiday meals. I’ve never had a convection oven so I’m still working out the kinks on when to change time and temp on a recipe and when not to. I had a few undercooked bread experiments trying to lower temp so when in doubt, do exactly what the recipe says. You can always turn it down next time. The warming drawer with temp control is a great feature. The burner configuration and sizes on the stove top fit all my pots and pans, even my giant cast iron skillet. We got the black stainless to match all of our other Samsung appliances we’ve had for years and no issues with cleaning any of them and messing up the finish as said in other reviews. Overall very happy so far!

Q: QuestionWhy is my black stainless steel finish peeling after 18 months? Followed manual cleaning instructions. Looks horrid and neither Best Buy/Geek Squad /Samsung consider this a warranty issue as it is cosmetic! Really? It seems to be a defect in workmanship
Asked by Outeast.
- A:Answer This is a defective product overall.. I have a 1300 Samsung Black Stainless slide in stove... it has completely peeled and the top has cracked. DEFECTIVE PRODUCT!!

Q: QuestionHi? Is there a "built in" place to store the divider when it is not being used as a double oven? I couldn't find one and it seems somewhat cumbersome to store every time you decide to use it as a single oven. Thanks!
Asked by Needtoknow.
- A:Answer Yes, the oven divider can be easily stored in the lower drawer. My installer showed me were it slides onto a rack located inside the top part of lower drawer. It keeps it out of the way and nicely hidden and you can still use the drawer! Hope this helps. :)

Q: QuestionCan the divider be moved up or down?
Asked by Alissa.
- A:Answer No, the divider cannot be moved, it stays in one place. So, you have two sections of the oven, the top or the bottom section. If you want to remove the divider you can and you get the whole entire oven (no divider) using one temp.

Q: Questioncan the oven be cleaned with divider in place
Asked by jimmygail.
- A:Answer Well 1 1/2 years later you either really need an answer or no longer have the oven! Anyways I found out today and answer is a definitive No...The manual does state to remove divider and all racks from oven before the cleaning cycle, however, it does not state how to clean divider. I chatted online with Samsung and the rep said "First, try to clean the divider by hand with a wet soft cloth and after that if needed use Cerama Bryte to clean the divider." I googled it, its a ceramic stove top cleaner. I asked if any brand ceramic cleaner would be okay and they said yes. I also inquired about the scraper and pads sold in the Cerama Bryte Kit, Samsung said not to use them, to only use a soft cloth with the cleaning liquid/gel. Samsung did say I could use "Cerama Bryte Burnt-On Ceramic Cooktop Grease Remover" if my ceramic stove top cleaner doesn't work. I asked about Bartenders Friend, as that would save me a trip to the store and the rep said I could also use it. No brushes still. Hope this helps. Thiniking of soaking it in my tub, I will give you an update! LittleMac

Q: QuestionCan the upper oven's fan be turned off to bake as a conventional oven?Convection ovens are not always suitable for baking. I do quite a bit of baking. I wandered if the fan can be turned off to create a conventional type oven or if there is any other options.
Asked by BBlair.
- A:Answer Hi BBlair, The upper oven in the NE59J7850WS relies on the convection fan to circulate the heat created by the broiler; since there is no heating element in the bottom of the upper oven only Convection Bake is available. The lower oven, however, can be set to Bake with or without the convection fan. Of course, when in single oven mode, all functions are available, including non-convection Bake. It's worth noting that convection is often the preferred method for baking since it circulates heat more thoroughly so cookies, for example, brown more evenly. Thanks for your question! Ms. Samsung

Q: QuestionNo matter how I bake my pizza, the bottom is always pale. How can I get things to brown?
Asked by Pizza.
- A:Answer We have yet to be able to cook a good pizza in ours also. Whether it is a frozen one or a pre-bake, they all burn on the top and the bottom is soggy. Really hate this thing. Very disappointing. Wife cannot bake anything in the top one as it burns everything on the top and bottoms are dough.

Q: QuestionInformation about dehydration featureI haven't seen anything written about the dehydration feature. Could anyone tell me about that or send me a link to read up on that feature.
Asked by Gloria.
- A:Answer Hi Gloria, The Dehydrate feature in the NE59J7850WS dries food or removes moisture from food via heat circulation, and the amount of time it takes to dehydrate depends on the moisture content of the food. You can look up recipes online or in your favorite cookbook or magazine for specific ideas, and also refer to the User Manual which can be downloaded from Samsung's website to learn how to use this setting on the Range. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung

Q: QuestionYour answer with a manual down load was NO HELP. I have my manual. NOWHERE IN IT DOES IT STATE/EXPLAIN WHETHER OR NOT I CAN USE ONLY THE TOP OVEN OR ONLY THE BOTTOM OVEN. IT ONLY TALKS ABOUT OPENING THE DARN DOOR ??
Asked by Lisa.
- A:Answer There is a devider plate in the warming drawer of the oven. Remove this insert (plate) and put it in the oven just below the small oven door. You'll see a groove. When it is inserted all the way, you'll hear a beep noise indicating that it is seated all the way. On the console of the oven on the left, it'll have a button to push for top oven. This will allow you to use the small oven only. When done, remove it to use the whole oven or leave it if you want to keep the small oven separate. This makes it 2 ovens, upper and lower. Lower oven button is on the right on console.
