Sleek and Powerful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went in the store to think about purchasing a S5 or S6. Of course, I loved the look of the S6 Edge. When I walked in to Best Buy, the S6 Edge and all of it features were being deomostrated. I was sold when I found out about my 5 favorite contacts being assigned a color and the phone lights up it the call, text or email in there assigned color. I love the edge lighting and choice side to show night clock. I love the imporved funtionality, amazing pictures, video and power of the phone. I love Do Not Disturb function which I did not have on my S3. I like the new fast charger that goes with phone. I love my S6 Edge.

Amazing display, unique design, overall awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this phone for quite sometime now. The first thing I have to say is the display will absolutely blow you away. It's bright vivid and 1440p looks fantastic on it. I haven't noticed any distortion of the edge displays that cause any real issues in every day use. (very rarely will I notice it at all) The camera is really the main selling point of the phone. It is absolutely phenomenal. It works great as a point and shoot camera. The phone itself it gorgeous the way it shimmers in the light is something to see. It's almost too thin in the hand and the glass is a little slippery but it feels rock solid after you put a case on it. It slipped out of my hand off my 2nd story balcony with out a case on it and it didn't even phase the phone. Samsung really made sure the phone would be drop resistant. The software was really slimmed down and it seems as fast as ever. The batter will get you through about a days worth of sporadic use. If you're a heavy user or if you play a lot of games on your phone you'll be looking for your charger after about 6-8 hours. Which in my opinion is fairly average battery life and what we should expect from a thin but powerful device. The quick charging ability is really something you have to see to believe. To get to 100% in a little over an hour and a half makes all the difference. Over all it really is an amazing phone. There is very little you can say wrong about it. If you like the android os and your comfortable with it. This really is the best android device on the market to date.

Great Hardware, but TouchWiz ruins the User Exp.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My phone use background: Current Phones: iPhone 6+ (64GB) & Samsung S6 Edge (32GB) Apple: All models from iPhone to iPhone 6+ Android: Samsung Nexus 3, Sony Xperia Z, Samsung Note 3, LG G3, HTC One M6, One Plus One, Samsung S6 Edge I would consider myself primarily an iPhone user. I keep wanting Android to get better. Over the years it has. I have issues with the lack of uniformity in user experience on core apps that manufactures like to dress up with their own user interfaces. HTC's user interface is probably one of the better ones for Android, but is starting to feel old. The fact is the stock android experience is great and I find the manufacture skins unnecessary. Thus the reason the S6 only gets 4 stars. I dislike TouchWiz! It's like Samsung hired a 5th grader to design the user interfaces. However with the S6 TouchWiz has been toned down, but not enough. I would say they expanded their budget and hired a 10th grader to design the interface. The theme engine has potential, but the themes in there are lacking and suited for the Japanese Anime sub culture. That said the stock them is ok and much better than the past couple years. This has been the only TouchWiz version that has not completely turned me away from the phone, but it still has it's issues. Overall the user experience is fast and fluid. Syncing with a Mac is not straight forward. The S6 does not support the Samsung Kies app. Instead they want you to transfer data from an iPhone or other Android device with their new Smart Switch app. The Smart switch app is useless and allows no way for you to manage your device music, pictures and videos from your Mac. I had to get the Android File Transfer app from google in order for me to take pictures and videos off the device and onto my mac. If you prefer to use cloud sync methods then you will be fine, but I like to organize my own files. Other software issues I've encountered. I use Google Music on my iPhone and S6. When I plug the phone into the USB outlet on my BMW it will only see music in the actual music app. You can not play music from Google Music via USB, it can only be done via Bluetooth, which has a slightly diminished sound quality verse the USB. The iPhone works both ways with google music and displays album art. Battery Life: Battery life is pretty decent. The rapid charger is nice and gets you the needed juice in a short amount of time. I also have the Samsung wireless charging station and it is nice to be able to just throw the phone on there. The battery will get you through the day easily with mild use. Heavy users will need to charge at least once. That said I'm not totally disappointed with the battery. Camera: The iPhone 6+ camera is awesome, the S6 camera is surprising just as good if not slightly better. It actually shocks me to say this. The color, focus and mechanics is spot on and is just as good as the iPhone 6+. Fingerprint Reader: It works well most of the time. The iPhone 6+ fingerprint reader is slightly better, but not much. At this moment I have not found many apps for samsung that takes advantage of the reader in the same way apps for iPhone intergrate into 3rd party apps. Hardware: The phone looks great and the build quality is great. It's on par with an iPhone, finally If you need external storage or removable battery this phone is not for you. Screen: It's awesome! with a QHD screen you can't go wrong. Get the curve. It looks great and gives the apps a new dimension, also swiping is easier. Do yourself a favor and protect the screen. In a drop I can see it taking a good hit. I purchased the Incipio case with a Zagg screen protector along with the 2 year warranty. This will not be a cheap phone to replace. Overall the best android experience I've used in the past 2 years. If you like Android go for it. iPhone users- it's a good option, but you may find yourself missing the iPhone uniformed user experience that is still lacking on Samsung TouchWiz.

Great improvement, a few missteps.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was eligible for an upgrade while the s5 was out but I was never that impressed with it. My wife has the s5 and other than the Kids Mode and being water proof, it wasn't a must have for me. The good: The S6 edge is a must have. I looked at both the M9 and the S6 edge before ultimately going with the S6 edge mainly because of how great it looks. The camera is fantastic, much better than even the S5 and the various settings are easier to use. The fingerprint sensor also works a lot better. I like that you can at least disable a lot of apps and remove others (although it would've been nice if you could remove all of them). The fast charging is great, the screen resolution is amazing, and it's really fun to use. The bad: Why make the S5 water proof and not the S6? I know they're releasing the S6 active but it would've been nice if the S6 was also water proof as I have kids. The battery drains pretty fast and it still is a little buggy in terms of switching between apps. Ironically, some Google based apps (like Google docs) crashes a lot. The glass also scratched easier than I expected so make sure you get a screen cover and case if that's important to you. Overall, this is a great phone, and the best IMO of all the Android based phones out right now, although I never played with the new LG phone. Also, if you want a phone that stands out, spend the extra to get the S6 edge. The regular S6 looks pretty much like the S5.

Wonderful Phone; Great Buy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From a long user of Samsung Galaxy smartphones, I can say that I am very impressed with the new S6 Edge. I upgraded from an S4 and I can assure you that was a good decision. The screen is marvelous. The picture quality on this phone is amazing... and I'm not saying this because I like Samsung... but it's definitely a lot more beautiful than the iPhone 6. The battery life is amazing! The quick charge charger does in fact charge your phone super quick! From flat 0 to 100% it took me about 80 minutes. What I noticed it does, is that it charges your phone as fast as it can and then in the end it'll slow down a little bit to give it that full charge. I imagine that this is for when you have an emergency that you just need to juice up a little to keep going. The new fingerprint scanner is still a tad bit annoying to use. I think it just takes time to get used to to remember what part of your thumb you scanned when first setting the feature up. But I unlock my phone a lot more quickly just using the pattern. The photos this phone takes... WOW!! You can zoom into the photos and you see almost all the detail. The amount of settings you have to choose from to take photos is abundant and you just have to play with it to see which settings you prefer; including Pro Mode, which is a nice touch to have when wanting to control almost every aspect of the photo. The edge night time display is nice to have at night so you don't burn your eyes looking at the time in the middle of the night; you just glance over and there you have the time and the time of your next alarm clock. Do keep in mind though, this does waste about 10% of battery at night, not sure why so much, but just a heads up to know. I haven't used the edge people quick picks that much, still getting used to it. I actually keep forgetting that I can scroll through the notifications on the edge screen. I'm sure it'll take some more time before more edge features are released but have the S6 Edge version does add a nice touch to your phone if you like to have nice technology; otherwise the standard S6 looks just like my S4 when in a case (I know since my brother got the S6 and I've been able to compare both first hand). The home screen features are nice, I like how now you're able to apply themes to your phone without having to use a third party launcher or the need to root your phone. Call quality is good. Speaker quality isn't so bad, I have yet to hear perfect speaker quality on any phone, so not surprising. I mean I can go on and on talking about things of the phone, but to not keep this review so long, I'll just end by letting you know that yes, I do recommend this phone, and even more so if you're already an Android user. I surely don't regret my purchase and I've had the phone for a week already. Happy buying!

Upgrades & Downgrades
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the GS6 Edge is proving itself to be a solid phone with a snazzy new touch wiz interface that comes with a small learning curve, there are some serious disillusion courtesy of Samsung. A lot of this is due to a super thin device at the cost at the most-wanted features. 1) Downgraded battery: 2550mAh down from 2800mAh of the GS5. Smsung claims more efficient power usage, which I'm sure is true, however the Octa-core cpu battles that right back. Conclusion: Battery life is good but noticeably less than the GS5. 2) Water resistance: This was a MAJOR game changer with the release of the GS5. Again, completed taken off the table to compete with the thickness of the iPhone 6. Terrible move. Every person I know with a GS5 would much prefer a slightly thicker phone that is WATER RESISTANT. 3) Removable storage. This was another feature that set Samsung apart from their largest competitor. With the new 32, 64, and 128GB capacity options this doesn't seem to be a huge issue. Although it has removed the ability to spend ~$20 to double your capacity. So you're now stuck with $100 more. 3) Edge screen is currently limited to the device's default functionality. Date/Time; Phone notifications;Yahoo! news; twitter trends; sports team updates. The nigh clock is most used. If this were opened up to third parties such as Pandora or even Google Now, it would make the area much more useful. 5) Charging: This device does NOT charge faster than before by comparison. My GS3 and GS5 both reach 100% capacity within an hour. Thus meaning that a lower mAh battery in the GS6 charging to 100% within an hour, it is charging the same or slower. I feel this is part of the campaign to beefy up perception of a smaller battery. Wireless charging is nice to have built in. Do not leave the pad plugged in at all times or touch with wet hands. 4) MUCH improved fingerprint reader. Seems superior to iPhone calibration and speed., but with major sacrifices. Conclusion: Solid phone with fluid functionality and MAJOR sacrifices. My recommendation is if you have a Galaxy S 5, consider sticking with it and enjoying an all around awesome device. The GS6 is more design, UI, and general hardware upgrade with the exception of that battery.

Excellent buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung S6 Edge model is stunning from the design perspective. It gives a ultra premium look and feel with metal and glass on both sides and beats Iphone 6 by far from the looks and design perspective. The Edge display screen (577 pixels per inch) is so beautiful that when you hold it in your hand, you feel like just staring it for a while. So if you are a design lover, then this is the best you can get at present. Now the design comes at the expense of removal of some features like - battery is not changeable, no external SD card and no waterproofing. So if you like to have removable battery, external SD card and waterproof model, then it is better to wait for their Active model which might get released later. Between S6 edge and S6 regular, the price difference is of about $100 which is not worth if you equally like S6 regular. Edge is something which we have never seen before and very beautiful, but if you are okay with S6, then you can go for S6 and save your hard earned $100. Since Edge display doesn't have much extra functions that are worth (except the night watch) , it makes the phone little more expensive than what it should be. The price difference of $50 should be the right price instead of $100. Now coming to the Pros and Cons: Pros:- - Stunning design, the best - Gorilla glass on both sides - Full charge takes about just an hour and few minutes (faster than iphone 6 and best among android phones) - Battery life is great - Instant camera by pressing home button twice. - Great camera for both still and video. Cons:- - Not much difference between S6 and S6 edge in terms of functions. Hence S6 is a better buy if the edge display is not the main criteria. - No removable battery, external SD card like previous Samsung models - Expensive
