    Great phone (with some bloatware)

    • My Best Buy® Elite Plus MemberElite Plus Member

Overall this is a stellar phone. I'd give it 5/5 for performance as it very fast, fluid and responsive. It takes a while to figure out all the settings and get it configured how you want it, but once you do, it's smooth sailing. I'd dock the phone a half a star if I could for the amount of what I consider to be bloatware installed. Some can be deleted, some can be disabled and some, you are stuck with. I picked it up for $300 off which put the phone down to $489. I put an additional $450 down and financed $39. You have to be on a payment plan to get the $300 off, which is weird but still... At $489 this phone is an absolute steal!

I love galaxy phones. Always have. The keyboard needs some work. It is definitely not good for swipe. But I love the advanced messaging feature of knowing when someone is typing on the other end, and when they have left you on "read" Haha. Also Bixby is very helpful. You may think she is glitchy but you just have to up her sensitivity to your voice and the problem will be fixed. The camera is great, being able to make your own gifs is awesome. And the phone itself runs pretty fast. Not much lag at all. I think there is room for improvement in the keyboard area, and sometimes the Samsung pass of saved passwords and usernames isnt correct. But overall its a solid phone and I love it

Reported problems - Do Not Buy

I've had this phone for 16 days and it's now dead. When it worked, it was slower than my iPhone 6 plus. Had trouble with texting that I thought was due to software lag. Seems others are facing similar problems and it's likely a touchscreen problem (dead zones). Samsung already issued a statement that it's working on the issue. My phone is also completely frozen. Even if I reboot, it freezes at the Samsung screen. Best Buy wouldn't take it back because outside 14 days. I asked Samsung to send me a replacement but they refused and referred me to repair facility. It's currently at the repair shop for the 2nd day. Very expensive inconvenience. Avoid this handset.

    Somewhat Disappointing

The Galaxy 4 has been the best phone that I have ever had. I love it. But the port was wearing out and I had already had it replaced once . So I bit the dust And ordered the Galaxy S9. 2 things are very disappointing. One is that the screen isn't exactly flat. it's more of a raised screen and there are many buttons and functions along the edge of that raised screen there are very hard to use because of their position. The 2nd disappointing thing is the Voice texting. The phone seems to have difficulty hearing anything I say and rarely ever types what I say. So there appears to be some issue with the speakers which is very frustrating. I really wished I had my Galaxy 4 back!

I love Galaxies! My first was a 2. It seems like with every upgrade they fix any complaint I had before. I will say the water resistant feature is wonderful. I accidentally dropped it in a puddle. Came out perfectly fine. That feature is one of the main reasons why I've stayed. Plus I love the camera features. I'm a mom so that means I have to take a million and one pictures of my kids. At least now they don't have to be fuzzy and out of focus. I do wish the Bixby feature could be turned off. I don't have a reason to need it and it doesn't give you the option to completely turn it off.

I still haven't had a chance to fully utilize my new phone because of the awful screen protector, but thus far I'm incredibly happy with the S9. I only use my phone for the basics (social media, calls, texts and games) and this phone does all of those things at faster speeds and with higher resolution. The camera is much better than previous iterations, and while I haven't fully explored Bixby, I love the idea of having the world at my fingertips.

This is my 3rd Samsung Galaxy -- I trade in about every two years. I moved to Samsung from an iPhone and never looked back! User friendly is the best description, especially when I am a very forgetful aging person..... So many different, useful apps to keep my day to day life running smoothly, too. The colors on this new phone are so vivid and transferring my info from my old phone to my new one was sooooo easy! Definitely a great phone!!!!

The Galaxy S9 keeps above the top end of mobile phones. The build quality and finish is the same as the S8. There are slight differences with layout and OS appearance running 8.0 and slightly different TouchWiz. There are a couple features which are nice for the stickers and Animated emoji. The camera quality is very nice. Coming from the S8, I can say with certainty that the low-light photos are much clearer and better contrast.
