This economy tab is a champ...
Posted .Purchased: 4/22/2012 Location: Algonquin, IL Best Buy I was a bit weary of this tablet running a Texas Instruments OMAP chip and not Samsung's Exynos, but then again, the Galaxy Nexus is running OMAP and that is Google's current flagship phone. I really like Exynos. At any rate, the Galaxy Tab 2 passed /my/ test with flying colors, or it was the OMAP that actually passed the test. What would that test be? It plays my ripped blu-ray movies like a champ. They are encoded in high profile 1080p. This is something that other chips struggle with, except for Exynos. Tegra 2 is the worst for this. Playback of this video is very fluid on the Galaxy Tab 2. Sure, it does not have a HD display, but then again it was $250. The picture is still great. Anyone who has intimate knowledge of Android knows that stock builds are usually a little sluggish, etc. We always hope for the developers to cook up some nice, debloated, and speedy ROMS. I am patiently waiting for someone at my favorite dev site to cook up a lite de-TouchWiz'd ROM. Apps to SD would be a major win here as well. Right now the LCD density reminds me a bit of the HTC Flyer, which was a dog. Root would allow me to change this as well. For now, the Galaxy Tab 2 is king of the economy tablets. Buy it! In the picture: - Galaxy Tab 2 resting on a paper clip stand. It works great on any device. Do a Google search on "Dean and Ying's Blog - iPhone Paper Clip Stand" for instructions. - I am running ADW Launcher EX and have installed the ICS theme as well as the Honeycomb theme. I am currently running the Honeycomb theme and using an ICS wallpaper. The clock and weather are HD Widgets. ADW Launcher EX along with the ICS and Honeycomb themes, and HD Widgets can all be found in the Google Play Market. If you have any questions let me know!

great little tab
||Posted .I bought this tab for my 9 year old son. I own the galaxy note 10.1 and a galaxy s 2, my son always wanted to play with my devices, so I decided to get this one for him I really like it because it is small it has a front and back camera, great battery life, expandable memory via micro sd up to 32gb, it is a universal remote control and I have it linked to my account on my tablet so I know all the apps he searches and has on his device. I Also put a safe browser so he doesn't have to be looking at things he is not suppose to. Great value tab! Recommend A+

I bought three of these.
||Posted .I bought two for my autistic kids, then one for my eldest daughter. They love them. It is fairly easy to figure out (except that photo transfer part). I like the fact that I can disable the internet connection feature on the tablet, so I don't have to worry about where they surf as I am driving, or they take them into their bedrooms out of my supervision. I see the price is going down again. This is really a great value, though. The battery life is pretty good. I charge the tablets every night, and I cannot think of a time so far the kids have had to shut down due to low battery. Being a mom to two autistic kids, I have heard for some time how the iPad had such fantastic apps and helps and programs for those with autism, but with the price being nearly twice what this Galaxy pad is, and with my buying for each one of my kids, I could easily spend nearly a thousand dollars very quickly, I bought THREE tablets, screen protectors, and cases for UNDER that.

Q: Questionlots of sd card complaintsi saw this and thought "whoa! freakin perfect!" i want a good 7" tablet to replace my iPad. (my feeling is that the 10" tablet aren't really much more convenient or portable than a small laptop) getting tired of waiting for the ASUS 370T, i looked at what bestbuy had and was pretty smitten with this neat little samsung. then i read the reviews... what's up with all the "sd card dont work" complaints? has this been addressed? is there a real problem or are people just missinformed?
Asked by mikey.
- A:Answer There is nothing wrong with the SD card. It recognizes the SD card however there is no application that will allow you to transfer/save file to the SD Card. If you download applications from Playstore, download pictures, videos it all defaults and saves to the Tablet's internal memory which is only 8GB. This is very disappointing when they say it is expandable to 32Gb for what? The only time you can use the SD memory card is when you take pictures from the tablet. If you are just doing web browing and not downloading much applications this may work for you otherwise FORGET ABOUT IT AND DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING SD CARD. I hope this answers your question.

Q: QuestionWhat is in the box when I purchase the Galaxy tab 2 7"charging cable? USB cable? sd card?
Asked by SDM.
- A:Answer In the box of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, you will receive the Tab itself, a wall charger, built-in rechargable battery, and a very modest user's manual. They have dropped the earphones which came with earlier models. Likewise, there is no SD micro card, which is really not an issue since even if you buy one and install it, this model does not allow you to transfer apps to the SD card, leaving you stuck with an 8gb device. Google this problem to see if Samsung has made any progress toward correcting it.

Q: QuestionFew Basic !I am still learning about tablet, so sorry that these Q are very basic. Thanks for answering them. 1. Does this support Google chrome? What all browsers does it support? 2. Does the tab has a built-in web cam? 3. What video formats does it play? 4. What audio formats does it play? 5. Can I install download managers such as Miro? 6. Does it support MS Office? 7. What are the missing features in this tab compared to a normal laptop.
Asked by chicharito.
- A:Answer I would be happy to answer all of your questions to the best of my ability: 1. Since the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 offers Android 4.0 ICS, the Chrome for android application should be compatible with it. The Tab will already come with the Android Browser and should have access to countless other browsers available on the Google Play Store 2. It will offer 2 cameras: a VGA front facing camera and a 3mp rear camera 3. The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will play a variety of video formats (3gp(mp4), wmv(asf), avi(divx), mkv, flv, webm) in a variety of different codecs (Mpeg4, H.264, H.263, VC-1, Divx, VP8, WMV7/8, Sorenson Spark) 4. As for sound, it can play -MP3, AAC/AAC+/EAAC+, WMA, OGG (vorbis), FLAC, AC-3- 5. Although there are a number of different file managers on the Google Play Market, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will come with its own built in file and download manager (please note, only Android apps can be installed on the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. If the program is not specifically made for Android, it cannot be installed) 6. Additionally, the Tab will support MS Office file formats with the preloaded Polaris® Office suite 7. Unfortunately, I cannot go too into detail here, but I will say that the Tab is an Android Tablet and therefore will not have all of the same functionality you will find in a Windows or OSX based laptop -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionGPS\MAPSDOES GPS MAPS WORK WHILE MOVING IN CAR
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer From the available information, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will in fact offer GPS and it should work while in a moving vehicle, however, a WiFi connection must first be made in order for the GPS to download maps to the tab itself. -MrSamsung
