Awesome Tablet
|Posted .The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 does everything and more you could ever ask for in a tablet. I am on the go and need the portability of a laptop however it was too heavy and bulky for me caring and setting up my laptop all the time. With my new Samsung tablet I have everything I had in my laptop in my hands everywhere I go. It's fast, lightweight and easy to use. The 12.2 screen is easy to view and the perfect size for my excel spreadsheets.

Better bang for the money than an iPad Air
|Posted .• The 12.2 inch screen is very large but that is what attracted me to this tablet; I was finding the 7 inch screen on my Nexus 7 too small for needs. Big screen frequently sacrifice picture quality for size but that wasn’t the case with this tablet. I was immediately impressed with the picture quality and in my opinion it is even better than the screen resolution on the iPad Air’s 9.7 inch screen. I’ve read that Samsung over-saturated the colors to enhance the screen’s appearance; some people have complained that the colors aren’t true. I don’t care I‘m not editing photos on my tablet, I have a computer for that, and the iPad Air’s colors aren’t true either. For how I use the tablet the colors look just fine. • The iPad Air I tried only had 16GB and it rapidly disappeared and I realized that I would need at a minimum 32GB and more likely 64GB. I was not impressed enough with the iPad Air to spend the money needed to acquire 32 or 64GB. The Samsung came with 32GB, and I slipped in an existing Micro SD card from an old phone, giving me 64GB. More memory; faster; bigger & better screen; more features; better customization; and it cost less. • I was surprised at how fast this tablet is, my Nexus 7 is slower by comparison, as was the iPad Air I tested for two weeks. It is possible to bog this tablet down by having too many apps running, however this is easily remedied by simply pressing the “Recent Apps” command key and closing individual apps or tapping “Close All” to free up the CPU and memory. • The speakers are fair, much better than my Nexus 7’s speakers, which are barely audible, and the iPad Air I tried had both speakers along one edge (the bottom edge), completely defeating any stereo affect from having two speakers. • While it’s true this tablet is plastic it felt sturdier than the metal iPad Air I tried and returned. The iPad’s screen flexes when you press on it and even after two weeks of heavy use I just couldn’t get use to the spongy feel of the screen. The case may be aluminum but it is thin and doesn’t feel substantial. The smooth metal back on the iPad made holding it difficult. I bought a case for the iPad and for my Samsung; can’t see the back on either when they are in their case. I think the combination of my white tablet and my brown case look and feel great; I can’t imagine not having a case for either tablet. • I paid for and downloaded both the Swiftkey and ai.type keyboards; I pretty much settled on the Swiftkey for my Galaxy S III and Nexus 7. I didn’t care for the Android keyboard on the Nexus 7; didn’t care for either the Android or Samsung keyboards on the Galaxy S III, but the Samsung keyboard on this tablet is the best touch-screen keyboard I have used, and the word prediction is fantastic, this keyboard is far and away superior to the Apple keyboard. • Apple has more apps that have been adapted for tablet use, especially where games are concerned, but I’m not into games much so that is pretty much a non-issue. I found Safari on the iPad Air a huge disappointment compared to Google’s Chrome. I read a lot and I did think the Kindle app for Apple was marginally superior to the Kindle app for Android because it had the X-Ray feature, but that is a failing on Amazon’s part, not Samsung’s. Apple’s iBook app combined with iTunes needs a complete rewrite, I found it completely unworkable. • I considered the Nexus 10 but I figured it would be comparable to my Nexus 7 in every way but screen size and I felt I needed more in the way of an upgrade than just the size of the screen. . • I considered the 32GB Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 which has an amazing screen, but an 8.9 inch screen is not that much larger than a 7 inch screen. We have two Kindle Fire tablets for our Grandchildren and I didn’t think I would be happy with the limitations placed on the Kindle Fire HDX by the Amazon’s OS. The Samsung 12.2 Tab Pro comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and I’m extremely happy now that I spent the extra $120 (over the Kindle) for the Samsung 12.2 Tab Pro.

The best and themost powerful tablet on the market
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI owned an iPad 2 16gb Wi-Fi before I bought my Tab Pro 12.2 (Which I'll call Tab from now on). My Tab blows it so far out of the water, it may as well not exist. It even gives my Dell laptop a run for its money (which sounds sad, I know). This is honestly the most powerful tablet on the market, by far (it and its twin brother, the Note 12.2, which doesn't differ at all except for the addition of the S-Pen stylus. IMHO, for $100 extra, it just isn't worth it. Its 2014. Who still uses styluses?) The Tab and Note both have octa-core processors (in layman's terms, that means they have 8 cores. 4 are 1.9gigahertz, 4 are 1.3gigahertz. That's a lotta hertz.) However, only 4 will be tasked at any time. However, this still means you can run up to 4 apps without a drop in framerate or slowdown. I ran Youtube, Facebook, the Video app and a document editor at the same time, and it ran flawlessly. It also flawlessly supports a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, so you can use this much like a laptop. Add a USB 2.0 to USB adapter, and you can attach flash drives and transfer files. It has a 8mp rear camera, 2mp front facing camera. I wouldn't use this as a camera, except to use the front facing for Skype calls. Using the rear one honestly will not look rite. Your phone has a camera, use that. The screen looks amazing. At 2560x1600 resolution, its not super-ultra-mega sharp, but at 247ppi, its pretty good. It still looks incredible. It has expandable storage for up to 64gb, with 32gb internal storage. That means for an extra $20-$30, you basically have a tablet with 96gb of storage. iPad can't do that. Thats why I have to say it again this is definitely by far The best and the most powerful tablet on the market today. That's why I am very glad that I bought this instead of an iPad.

Finally a Android tablet with great battery life!
|Posted .I've tried the Tab 4, Surface 2, Asus T100, and LG but none of them could compare battery-wise to my iPad3. But the Tab Pro 12.2 is very comparable (average 5 days between charges with medium usage). The graphics, screen, and Kit Kat operating screen are wonderful and a seamless change going from my Droid Turbo to the Tab Pro. And the access to the Google Play store is just as good if not better than Apple's. Yes, it's a big price tag compared to a full size iPad Air, but well worth it for the jumbo screen, which paired with the Samsung Bluetooth keyboard makes a adequate laptop replacement.

Upgraded my iPad 1st gen to this tablet -good move
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is a large bright handy tablet to keep nearby all the time. I recommend the Samsung Bluetooth keyboard that acts as a stand for desk/tabletop use. I am pleased with the performance and features of this tablet. It's big and easy to read from, so the downside is battery life and weight. I have to charge it every other or third day when left on standby and limited use (1 hour per day). I have a Galaxy Note 8 that I use for work (and handwritten notes). This is not a "note" tablet. You can't get the fine detail in your strokes that the real note with it's stylus delivers, but you can use the S-Note software and a capacitive stylus, crude though by comparison.

Really nice improvements
|Posted .I bought this as a replacement for my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (stolen when our house was robbed). Samsung moved the power slot to the side, which is a good improvement from the bottom (though it would work better on the left), and they made the power cord longer which was really needed. The clarity of the images is terrific. As usual, there are way too many apps installed on it that I will never use, and can't be removed. Sound is better as well, and the volume goes up farther, which I appreciate as I'm slightly hard of hearing. Easy to set up and use... I was sort of surprised, once I set it up and registered it, all the apps I had installed on my previous tablet showed up on this one, which was great. It is larger than the previous tab, of course, I bought the larger one purposefully, but it seems to not weigh any more than the other. I like that you can have two screens/two apps up at the same time. I think someone who used this for business would really like all the apps and features. More expensive than the previous one, and the battery is not any better... some company somewhere is going to finally come up with a truly long-lasting battery for devices and makes billions of dollars... but apparently it hasn't occurred to Samsung.

Q: QuestionHow many gigs of RAM does this device have? How many gigs of RAM does this device have?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It has 3 gb of ram which makes it fast. My other tablet is just about as fast but has 1 gb of ram so that is a choke. By the way....I have the 32 gb version and while I have Lots of apps that are power hungry it still has plenty of room. Having a micro SD card (I use a 64 GB) means I have LOTS of space to store programs...many can be run from the SD card using the app control within the Android system. Warning though...if you place all your apps on the SD card you will not be able to run them if you swap out the SD card to put in another one for additional space. But 64 is a LOT of space. One way to add lots of additional memory is to get the Samsung adaptor cable that plugs in the proprietary port and has a USB female port...you can add flash drive....you can even get a flash drive splitter so you can add a few additional flash drives at the same time (think the limit is around 4-5 but that is tons of space).

Q: QuestionPower point presentationsI teach a lot and most of my material is on power point. Someone else on this forum asked if a projector could be attached and there were conflicting answers. If I got this tablet and put my content on it, could I then interface it with a standard VGA-type connector to an LCD projector? How about an HDMI connection to a projector or flatscreen? Does Samsung have any sort of Slingbox/Apple TV type device that I could stream my content to and then connect that device to the projector or flatscreen? The ability to use the device for teaching is my main impetus for the purchase. Without that ability, I will have to go to a standard laptop, which I do not want to do. Thanks.
Asked by Teacher.
- A:Answer I bought a Samsung hdmi adapter. As long as your projector has an hdmi input, it will mirror your tablet screen onto it. It's pretty cool. My kids like me hooking it up to the tv and turning on the tablet's camera and point it at them. They can look at themselves on the big screen.

Q: QuestionWill I be able to watch video content online?I see that this tablet is not Adobe Flash compatible. I watch a lot of videos of tv shows online, both domestic and from overseas. Will I be able to view my videos on this tablet?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No Android device is flash-compatible. Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, and most other streaming content providers have released Android-native versions that work well, and some are bundled with the device.

Q: QuestionIs the Galaxy pro user friendly for photo albumsI need to be able to download and upload folders and sub folders from my pc windows 7, android phone, camera as well an sd card easily.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Works great for pictures and albums. Just transfer from your Windows machine to the micro SD card or use a cloud transfer which I prefer. You can also get a Samsung port to female USB cord so you can plug int a regular USB flash drive and transfer pics back and forth. The included apps work fine for that although there are some other free apps that you might want to consider also that have additional features.

Q: Question1I have now samsung 10.1 interested in 12.2 samsung, can I transfer without a problem from one tablet to another in store after purchasing 12.2 Norm
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I am almost sure you can. When I purchased my tablet the minute I logged to my google account all my apps from my Samsung Galaxy S5 migrated automatically into the table. There was no need for me to reload my apps like dropbox, chase, etc. Some how my devices sync or communicated with each other. That was cool. I hope this was helpful
