Best Tablet Available
||Posted .I looked at several tablets before deciding to purchase the Galaxy Tab S. It is slim, has a great display, the camera works good, and the best thing is the placement of the home buttons at the bottom when you have it horizontal, how it is usually used, instead of where all of the other tablets buttons are located, also, they light up!!! I liked it so much I purchased another one for my Mom, a first time tablet user and she absolutely loves it!!! She takes it with her everywhere and uses it all day. She reads her Kindle books, plays games, watches YouTube, surfs the internet, gets the news, and gets and sends email without having to open her computer. Its so convenient. I bought the white instead of gray to match our cell phones. It looks and feels expensive because it is a high quality tablet. I highly recommend this tablet to everyone. It's the same size as my Surface Pro 2 except alot lighter and thinner.

SUGGEST BEST FOR ADVANCED USER-I PAD EASIER
||Posted .i WAITED A LONG TIME TO PURCHASE THIS DEVICE. MY COMPUTER EXPERT, HUBBY HAD MUCH DIFFICULTY LOADING PROGRAMS...HE IS FANTASTIC WITH THIS. I MUST ADMIT MY GRANDCHILDREN JUST PICKED IT UP AND USED IT! i AM EMBARRASED TO GIVE THEIR AGES! THEIR FOLKS HAVE I-PADS. NOW THAT I AM USED TO WORKING ON THIS DEVICE I AM ENJOYING IT....JUST FIND THAT IT IS A BIT "SLOW". I REALLY LIKE THE KEYBOARD CASE, I PREFER TYPING THAN PECKING ON THE SCREEN. WE HAVE PROGRAMMED IN HIKING AND BIKING ROUTES, AUTO NAVIGATION SYSTEM, KIDS GAMES, STARGAZING PROGRAM, BOOK READER, COMPASS, CALENDAR.....GLAD TO SEE SUCH A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS AVAILABLE.

Portable & chic tablet, and great for my business
Posted .I bought tablet to help with my business which requires being on the web constantly. I can't complain about the fast internet. The down side however is the fact user must be careful if using tablet for order personal web needs like social media, especially if there are multiple users. For example, if you download Facebook Messenger for instance, logging off Facebook account on the tablet does not turn off or log you out off Facebook Messenger. You could be chatting on a different device in a different city many miles away, while someone is having a swell time reading you chat as each message sent automatically pops-up on the tablet. Only solution is to uninstall Facebook Messenger App, hopefully not before it is too late. That is a Huge security concern if you ask me.

Great iPad alternative, decent laptop alternative
||Posted .I was looking for a device for media consumption (YouTube, Netflix, etc) as well as some flexibility for composition (blogging, word processing). Paired with a quality Bluetooth keyboard, this was a great balance for the price. I started with a 13.3" Macbook Air, traded down to the 8.4" Samsung Galaxy Tab S, then finally decided on the 10.5" device with the Samsung Book Cover and a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard. Primarily used for Netflix, Youtube, Facebook, etc., I can also use the standalone Bluetooth keyboard for occasional blogging and word processing. With access to the Teamviewer Android app, I can access my home computer when needed; with the OneDrive app and Hancomm Office, this makes a decent alternative to a traditional laptop (although not a total replacement). The IR blaster, paired with a Google Chromecast device for my TV, keeps me from having to shuffle seats or remotes...everything can be done from the tablet. It is also good for use with your TV and cable box (even can be used with local programming)--much props to the Samsung WatchOn app. This is by no means the powerhouse that the Macbook Air was, but at half the cost, I can't complain considering how flexible the device is. Battery life is phenomenal if you switch to Airplane AND Ultra Power-Saving modes between uses. I often times can go four or five days without charging. One complaint is how long it takes to charge up from 5% to 100%...but not a huge deal since I don't charge frequently. Only other complaint is the speed in which the devices switches applications or settings. Going into and coming out of ultra power saving mode takes a little longer than I'd like, but it's a small price to pay for such long battery life. In general, the specs are sufficient for normal-to-heavy use of the device, even multi-tasking apps (two on screen simultaneously). I highly recommend the KK Launcher from Google instead of the stock TouchWiz interface from Samsung. KK Launcher provides many additional customization options and is a free app. The screen is fantastic, and I look forward to streaming services and the like making use of the QHD display. The adaptive display technology allows for great visibility in nearly all lighting conditions, although I haven't had much experience using it in direct sunlight. I rarely find myself turning the setting off and manually changing the screen brightness. I was NOT considering an iPad when shopping for this--like I said, I started with a Macbook Air and worked my way down. That being said, I find this device far superior to even the latest iPad with Retina display, and think it a great contender in the space. I don't consider Samsung's over-saturation of the tablet market a bad one given the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S options--they are much needed in a space overwhelmed by underwhelming options.

Class-leading tablet with fantastic display
||Posted .I own a Note 3 phone and a Note Pro 12.2 tablet for myself. This Tab S 10.5 was purchased for my elderly parents who now prefer reading on a well-lit screen vs. paper (as do I), so these comments are based on several days of my experience with setup and use of the Tab S 10.5. I am also recommending this upgrade to my wife who currently uses an original Samsung 10.1" tablet. (I will give an unsolicited compliment to Best Buy for having these new S tablets in the stores before anyone else; the timing was helpful as I had a limited time window during my travel). First of all, the outstanding points are: Display - the OLED is stunningly sharp and attractive with no real down-side that I can find. There are color-temperature adjustments in the Settings menus, but the default settings made for pleasant viewing. Maximum brightness was never needed in our usage (indoors but near large windows). Lightweight. - this is so light and thin, it somehow feels smaller than the previous 10.1" tablets even though the screen is actually larger. An important point here is that if you use a cover, you'll want to go with the lightest you can find. I use an aftermarket cover for my Note Pro 12.2, and the combination of the heavier tablet and heavy fiberboard cover make it around two pounds. I'm jealous of the Tab S system where you have the nice light covers that snap into special sockets on the back. I like covers that can also prop up the tablet at an angle (like the Book Cover version), but for handheld use you might consider buying a sleeve pouch and using the Tab S with no flip-cover for really minimum weight. Battery life - despite the light weight, it doesn't seem that Samsung skimped on the battery size. I was impressed at how slowly the battery drained over many hours of use. If you use it a few hours every day, you won't really need to charge every night, though it's a good habit to do so. If you take it on a trip, you could pack away the charger and not worry about running low before you arrive. Other comments: Fast startup - These newer Samsung tablets get you in business from a cold start or re-boot fairly quickly, something like 30 seconds so from power up to fully Wi-Fi connected and ready to go. Of course you don't really need to shut it off in most situations; the sleep-mode power drain is very low so usually you're going in one or two seconds from sleep. Not a Note - An obvious statement and not a mark against the Tab S, but something to keep in mind if you are a Note phone or tablet user and you like the stylus option. I actually don't use it very much, but it would make me think twice to lose the feature from an otherwise high-end Samsung product. USB and charger compatibility - Again a minor comment since few people use the port for anything other than charging. Unlike recent high-end Samsung devices, the Tab S reverts to a micro USB 2.0 port. This might be of some concern to you if you like to do hard-cable data hookups. For me, the biggest issue is the interchangeability of charging cables. The S5 / Note 3 phones and the Pro tablet cables all have the new extended-width plug because of their USB 3.0 ports. You can charge them with a standard micro-USB 2.0 plug, but you can't put their wider plug into a micro-USB 2.0 device like the Tab S. So, for example if you have an S5 phone, you won't be able to use its charger cable on your Tab S, but you will be able to use the Tab S cable to charge the S5 phone. OS and Software: I'm not going to say much about this - basically it's a brand-new Galaxy device with all the attendant programs and latest Touchwiz features - that is a good thing. Nice implementation of windowed multitasking, but I turned off the pop-out side menu for that because I felt it simply confused the learning curve for my folks. I don't agree with complainers who moan about too many extra apps - just remove the icons and widgets if you don't like them, and keep an open mind that some of them are actually quite good. Summary: a highly recommended 10.5" Android tablet at a fair price.

Q: Questionwifi outside the houseI bringot my Samsung galaxy tab s 10.5 to my work where it has a very strong cable wifI and that's not secured. My iPad mini just connects without a problem. But my Samsung isn't evendors when I'm doing restart. How will this be fixed it? Otherwise I have to return this to Costco. Please help.
Asked by fed.
- A:Answer If I understand you correctly, are you having trouble connecting to Wifi? If so, check and see if the bluetooth is turned on. On my tablet, wifi doesn't work if bluetooth is on. You can drag down from the top of the tablet to see if the bluetooth is on. It was very frustrating to me at first, but now I'm used to it. I've had no trouble connecting to any wifi if the bluetooth is off. Just search for the network and connect.
