Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to have the Fitbit One & used apps on my phone to track my running /training. After losing the fitbit I did a lot of research & this was my best option for what I needed. It isn't too big (I was concerned because I have small wrists), and can be worn with dressy or casual outfits (some of the sports GPS watches I wouldn't be able to)... It tracks GPS even without my phone's GPS being on. I love being able to see texts or who is calling without taking out my phone & to send quick responses back from the Gear Fit. I tested the HR capabilities of it by wearing my chest strap that detects apical pulse & the watch on one wrist and the Gear Fit on the other, and the heart rate was almost spot on. The gear fit gave the same # a few seconds after the chest strap but that is to be expected since it is reading your pulse peripherally and not directly over your heart. The only thing that I don't like as well as the old school fitbit one is that I don't feel that it tracks my steps as well as a pedometer worn on your hip (Idon't always swing my arms with my steps - for example if I'm pushing a lawnmower or shopping cart or if I"m carrying something- but that's not a problem for when I'm running). Overall, I feel like I chose the best product out there for my needs!

Part Fitness Tracker, Part Smart Watch!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Gear Fit! My main exercise is walking, so it works great for tracking that, I take a medicine that affects my heart rate, so I like that I can use this to check it anytime. I also love that it has some cool smart watch features like the ability to read texts, see who's calling and reject the call with a brief preset message, check the time and temperature, locate my phone, and get other notifications. The silent alarm is nice, just wish it worked independently of the phone. I also like that I can customize the look with different bands and changing the background on the screen or the clock face, and that I can set the display to vertical. The safety feature is cool. Thankfully I haven't HAD to use it, but when I tested it, it worked flawlessly, notifying my selected contacts that I needed help and providing a link to google maps showing my location. Battery life is good and the screen is bright and easy to read in almost all lighting conditions. Bright sunlight makes it a little more difficult, but not impossible. The only reasons I didn't give this 5 stars are as follows: The aforementioned lack of an alarm that works independently of the phone. I don't care for the design of the band closure being two pegs that go into holes. It seems fairly secure under most conditions, but I HAVE at times bumped the strap on something while moving and had 1 of the 2 prongs pop out of the hole. I bought some aftermarket clasp keepers to help secure my investment so it hasn't ever actually fallen off, but a typical watch buckle closure would be a definite improvement. The charging cradle is a bit difficult to clip onto the device. I'd like to see more than one watch face option that includes the weather. Samsung should offer more bands to customize this product, although if they do, I'd hope they'd give them the watch buckle I mentioned before. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase!

Nice device requires accessories!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the Fit based on the compatibility with my Samsung Galaxy 5 Active. Happy with Battery life, function of the heart rate monitor, the pedometer, notification function, media control and sleep monitor. Wish there were more options for “exercise” but I understand the function is based on the pedometer and the S Health App since the only options there are run/walk/cycle/hike. This isn’t about S Health so back to the Fit. I like the look and have received lots of compliments and I like that you can change the appearance and even use a photo as your screen. Now the issues, you have to get a screen protector and FAST, not a big deal but don’t be cheap you will scratch the heck out of it pretty quick. The connector/latch device is not enough for me to feel safe I just knew this was going to fall off my wrist and there are really no accessories at BB so I used amazon and bought some silicon bands to secure the strap (I ordered the screen protector and another watch band because lets be real the boring black one gets old). I really wish there was an additional clip devise so I could attach to my show, pocket for those days you don’t want to wear a bulky watch. Overall I am happy with the product.

Was enjoying it at first ... now problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was enjoying this product for the first month. Then it had a rebooting problem. It resolved when I turned it off and left it off for an hour and then turned it on. I have the problem again and have turned it off and on 3 times and it still won't start. My cellphone says it is not Connected. I'm looking for some help on the Internet. I can't recommend it at this time.

Nice watch for tracking fitness.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Gear Fit so I could keep track of how much I run while reffing soccer games. It has been extremely useful while I'm out on the pitch. I use it daily and really enjoy keeping track of my steps/fitness. MUST have S Health to get full use of the watch. Pros: Keeps track of heart rate Top speed (S Health) Average pace (S Health) & others, just to long to list!! Total steps, even if you choose an exercise. Sleep monitor Help to find your device Customization Great battery time. Receive texts Cons: Learning to use in the beginning. Make sure to change your "Screen Timeout" before starting. Bluetooth is good, but can effect the routine your currently in if it loses connection.

Good start for getting the most for your health
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good product. This great for those that want to be proactive about their health with a minimal investment in a wearable monitoring device. I bought this for my wife to ease her into being mindful of activity. As I bought a Gear S for myself. She enjoys this because it keeps her up to date on her steps, water consumption, emails ect. She also enjoys the ability to change the screen to something that matches to what she is wearing.

Q: QuestionCan you place mobile calls with this device? Can you place mobile calls with this device?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer You can't make calls on the GearFit. I understand you can do that with the Gear 2 watch. The gearFit does however vibrate on incoming calls and allows you to read text messages on it.

Q: QuestionIs it an accurate pedimeter?I got the fitness band for xmas and wore it one day to track my steps but it counted more steps than I walked.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, it counts steps as you take them. However, it will also pick up a lot of hand movement. That is why it is so important to wear it on your non-dominant hand. There will be significantly LESS movement coming from this hand naturally. Hope this helps!

Q: QuestionContinuous Heart Rate?Does this device continuously tells you your heart rate or do you have to hold your finger on the device?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer it reads your heart rate from your wrist. when in "exercise" mode, it monitors continuously (sort of). You have to wake the screen to show what your heart rate is. Normally you chose the mode and it will get a reading. Reading with your finger is only on your phone.

Q: QuestionWill this device track sleep activity, including time slept and/or quality of sleep? Thanks
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer When you put the device in 'sleep mode' it essentially keeps track of how still you are. In the morning you will be shown how many hours/minutes you were asleep (essentially how long the device was in sleep mode), and the percentage of that time that you were lying still. this information is then stored on your phone in the S Health app. NOTE: You have to manually turn sleep mode on and off.

Q: QuestionDoes display show distance ran and time?Does the display show distance ran and time? I am a runner and need to be able to monitor my time and distance.
Asked by freidafrog.
- A:Answer Look for something else. I have used this for 4 months and am a runner and it's not accurate at all. Use of a running app is much more accurate (Runtastic, MapMyRun, etc.) This watch is always off by .5 to more than a mile. I run on average 20-25 miles per week.
