I bought a Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition for my S6 edge just to try the virtual reality. I didn't know it was going to look so real. It feels like if you were there. The games are great and you can watch any movie you have in your phone library.

I have been interested in virtual gear equipment for quite a long time and I have known Oculus Rift like two years back. To be honest, the actual effect is still not so promising (thought the 3-D view is INDEED AWESOME). The resolution is quite low and that's especially severe for 3-D videos (sometimes it becomes difficult to recognize the face detail). Also, the eye lenses are soon covered with sweat steam in less than 5 minutes and you have to take it off and remove the moisture before you can watch clearly. Overall, consider it's still a developing prototype, I hold high anticipation for the future product and I would recommend it to those who wish to experience how a real "virtual reality" feels

Very nice VR experience with smooth video and no rotation lag. Quite impressive for this stage of the VR race, but only the beginning of what VR will eventually become. Some downsides: 1. The charger does not work when the phone is plugged into the headset, so watching a movie or using it for extended periods is not possible. 2. The lenses keep fogging up in cold weather. Putting the headset in a warm place before using it seems to help. 3. Even with the high pixel rate of the S6, pixels is still clearly visible through the lenses. However, this may be the case with all current generation VR headsets. 4. Lastly and probably the most annoying... every time you plug the phone into the headset it forces you into the Oculus app and only allows you to use the headset with that app. There are so many Google Cardboard or third party 3D content which should look awesome on the headset, but there's just no way of loading that and/or stopping the Oculus app from loading (without rooting your phone anyway) There was an app available to disable other apps from running, but Samsung decided that users should not have that and had it removed from the store. My HTC phone on the other hand has this feature built in. Android has always been an open platform where you have as much control over things as you want to have, so I don't know why Samsung is becoming more like Apple as time goes on. It is limiting the use of the headset for no apparent reason. Other than that, quite a nice first VR experience!

Customers are delighted by the Gear VR Innovator Edition for its affordable price, immersive virtual reality experience, and wide range of entertainment options including Netflix. However, some users have concerns about overheating issues and the limited number of apps available.
