The Router is More Important than I thought.
Posted .A tip for the rest of the novices out there...when going wireless, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ROUTER, one that is rated for HD Streaming Video. My previous router was rated for fun and games and ran me about $50. The wireless stick device worked but the TV was constantly having to stop and load my streaming video. I have lighting fast fiber optic internet so I thought it was a bad connection between the router and the stick. Eventually, I had to shell out another $130 for a router that would work but I was fortunate enough to have that kind of cash on hand. When I did that, this device and my TV worked like a charm.

You don't even need a DVD/BLU REY player!
Posted .#1 thing I want to let people know is if you purchase this adapter for Samsung TV (I have the newer Samsung) you can just plug the adapter into the back of the TV and it will find your internet & download the apps. You can use netflix straight to your TV you DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE ANY BLU REY PLAYER, (save the $399.99) unless you want to watch dvd's you already own or that you have mailed to your house. (We watch the ones mailed/owned on the living room tv & my son watch's on his gaming systems) but I just use the Netflix instant que for my bedroom tv. That's a HUGE money/space saver right there. #2 If it's "unable to connect or find internet" MAKE SURE that when you type in your password it is ALL LOWERCASE letters (EVEN IF you have capitals in your password), no spaces, etc. It AUTOMATICALLY defaults to Capital letters, so you need to manually choose the lower case option. #3 Enjoy!

Pretty cool invention
Posted .I read all the reviews before I purchased this item. Here is an actual product description that will help you make your choice. This is a great product if you are unfortunate enough to have to buy it. Most newer Samsung models have built in wireless connections, so they do not need the Linkstick. With this in mind, save yourself $80.00 and buy a blue-ray player that has this feature already. If you do have to have the linkstick, here are the good things about it. This product is pretty easy to set up, and works great. If you are a netflix subscriber, your movie choices are nealy endless. New releases are not available right away, but they may be in the future. You can also watch any youtube video available for free. I havent tried the music options yet, but im sure they are great too. The only negative that I have discovered so far, besides the price is that when you turn off the blueray player, you have to go into the settings and manually re-connect every time. This wouldnt be too bad, but I have security on my wi-fi and you have to enter the password via. the remote every time. The whole re-connect process takes about 3-5 minues depeding on your type of connection and security settings. Hope this helps.

Pricy but works
Posted .I purchased this product to go with my Samsung BD-P1600 player and have now used it enough to write a thorough review. What I like: This product works as advertised but users will need high speed internet to exploit full potential. Those that have dial up, don't waste the money. I do have high speed internet and the picture looks great using an HDMI cable. Once my initial set up was completed, I have enjoyed streaming Nexflix movies or listening to the radio through Pandora. This is a little off subject but Pandora is excellent. You create your own music genre and it works like the ITunes Genius. What I didn't like: For some reason during initial setup, the wireless adapter had difficulty connecting to my router. However, after about the 3rd time it finally took the key code. I'm pretty computer literate, but I am not sure if the issue was due to user error or equipment. Reguardless, the issue was resolved with some determination on the side of the user. Some users had stated they had a fuzzy picture. I also had this issue, but only the very first time I streamed a video. Everyone knows the wireless signal strengh from one's router sometimes flucuates, so perhaps it was just perfect timing. However, two weeks and several movies later I have not had any issues. At $79.99 the wireless adapter is pricy. However, if one brings a Best Buy rewards card in the price is much more tolerable. With all of the wireless technology out there, cost was my biggest complaint about the product. However, I used two reward zone cards which reduced my purchase pain to a coup de grâce.

Works Great
Posted .Wanted to have better quality internet video streaming so I needed to get my BluRay online because my other video streaming device was low resolution. I spent the $80, which is really too much for what it is, plugged it into the player and followed the BluRay manual. The longest part was waiting for all the updates and programs to download once online. It was very quick and easy and once online, setting up the video streaming was even easier. If you can afford the crazy price, it definitely worked well and was quick to set up.

Q: QuestionWill a computer wireless usb adapter work?I have a wireless usb adapter I was using on my pc. Will it work the same as the linkStick for my led lcd tv
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer HAHA I found the 'official' answer hilarious. The real reason no others will work (and I bet there are hacks out there that do allow them to work) is because Samsung would like you to pay $80 for a Samsung Wireless Connector instead of buying one for $15 or $20 from a third party. DUH!

Q: QuestionWhich Samsung LinkStick Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter works with Model BD-C5500 (Model Code BD-C5500/XAA)If the graphic on the Best Buy website is accurate then the Samsung LinkStick Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (Model WIS09ABGNX ) will not work with the Samsung Blu-Ray Disc/DVD Player, Model BD-C5500 (Model Code BD-C5500/XAA). When will a wireless adpater for this model be available as this model is already being sold in stores? The Samsung USB port on the back of this model accepts a standard USB connection and not the post connection illustrated in the graphic for the LinkStick (Model WIS09ABGNX).
Asked by NoNick.
- A:Answer I'm sorry for the confusion, however the WIS09ABGNX should be compatible with the BD-C5500. As stated in the BD-C5500's manual, "Use only the optional Samsung wireless LAN adapter with this player. (Model name: WIS09ABGN)." The WIS09ABGNX (the added "X" indicates its a Best Buy product) unit sold here at Best Buy should work with out an issue. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionIf my Samsung Blu-ray DVD player is already Netflix capable, do I really need one of these adapters?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The linkstick wifi adapter is only needed if you want to wirelessly connect your device to a wireless router to access internet content. If you already have a wired connection to your BD player or a wireless connection set up (depending on BD player) then you will not need to use the linkstick to access Netflix. -MrSamsung

Q: Questionif i have a samsung tv and blue-ray player do I need 2 seperate Linksticks for each one?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Depends on what you want to do. If you need to stream Netflix movies, then just one (for the Blu-ray DVD player) is enough. If you also want to use TV Widgets (available on some TVs), then you'd need the stick for the TV. You don't need the sticks to connect from DVD player to TV.

Q: QuestionWorks with any TV?If I understand correctly, this dongle plugs right into a compatable Samsung Blue-Ray disc player and if the player is connected to TV, it can be set up to work wirelessly with a router and any brand of TV?
Asked by fishingfool42.
- A:Answer Thanks for the question. You are correct. As long as the BD player is a Samsung Blu-Ray player that offers internet content playback (Netflix, Pandora, etc.), you can have the BD player connect to a wireless home router that is connected to the internet and then connect the BD player to any TV to view said internet content. -MrSamsung

Q: Questionwhat can this do?I have both a samsung bluray & HDTV and am considering getting this adapter, but my question is how I would go about streaming things, ie movies? also, how does the netflix and pandora services work?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Great question! Although I may not have the model numbers of the units in your possession, I can give you a quick breakdown on how you can connect your system up to the internet to receive internet content. First, you will need to make sure that both your Samsung TV and BD player offer internet content connectivity (either internet@TV or Infolink on the TVs, Netflix and Pandora on the BD players). Once it has been determined you have these features, you will need separate Linksticks for each unit (so in this case, two linksticks, one for the TV and one for the BD player). Once connected to the devices, it is time to pair your TV and BD player to a wireless router (for info on this, please refer to the owners manual). At this point you are almost ready to stream content from your PC or from the internet. For PC streaming, you will need to install the Samsung PC Share Manager software that should have come with your TV. Once installed and you have all the media you want to share setup through the Manager, you should be able to access these files from the TV. For internet content, you will first need to have an account active with the media providers (Netflix, Pandora, BlockBuster on-demand, Youtube, Twitter, etc.) to be able to use their respective widgets. Once an account is set up, you can input your username and password into the widgets, and start viewing the internet content. Please note, all content is aggregated through the Yahoo! widget system on the TVs. There is no actual browser on either the TVs or BD players. Also, please remember that in order to access internet content and PC media, your TV needs to have this feature already included since the Linkstick will not add these features. -MrSamsung
