Convenient and easy to typePosted .
I bought this product by trying it out in the Best Buy store to see if the keyboard was easy to type and whether or not I would feel comfortable using it for a long time. After I brought home the product, I really disliked using Windows 7 Startup because it seamed hard for me to go through their typical "Start" menu system, the small fonts, and the small icons. I was squinting most of the time in which the operating system was literally causing a headache because I was squinting so much and that was with my glasses on. Some friends suggested that I use Ubuntu Netbook Remix (Linux) in which I installed. Now, I love the computer and no health effects from staring at the screen. Ubuntu Netbook Remix installed flawlessly side-by-side (in case I needed a program that requires Windows). The only thing I had to do was to turn off HyperSpace Instant-on so it can work properly. As for hardware, you get as long of a battery life as the Windows 7 component. I highly recommend this product from Samsung, but I suggest switching to Ubuntu Netbook Remix for easier use. I've been telling all the MS fans that Windows 7 works great if you have a laptop or a desktop as a graphical interface, but it doesn't work well in a netbook.I would recommend this to a friend

Packs a punch!Posted .
This little PC packs a big punch! I ended up getting this Samsung after 2 Toshiba NB 305's were lemons. So instead of trying a 3rd Toshiba I went for the $20 cheaper Samsung. If you are expecting this lil pc to be better than or equal to a laptop then do not get this! A lot of bad reviews are going to be from people who are expecting these little pc's to be just as powerful as a lets say Gaming Laptop. For its size and speed (1.66) it runs very well. One big difference from the other top netbooks is the first startup (boot) it takes around 30mins to set up. Also if you are not paying attention you will end up with 2 partition hard drives that show about 108gb each. (when setting up make sure you set your back up partition to the smallest you can get it (about 10gb) so you have the most gb on your C: drive. Now with windows 7 starter also know you wont be able to use printers and a few other features. (also no background changes etc). so if you want those other features an upgrade through ANYTIME UPGRADE is your best way to upgrade. (rem. if you install from USB or DVD, you may have to reinstall some of the Samsung Drives, which can be found on Sansum.com if you dont make a backup disk. With Windows7 Ultimate, it runs very well. The boot up is not super fast. But it does load somewhat fast. Though I like Windows 7. I went and wiped out my samsung. And put on Linux Ubuntu Remix (for Netbooks) So for those computer nerds that have though about Linux and know how to use it. This Samsung runs GREAT with Ubuntu Linux. Easy install even with USB, The speed is very quick on loading. and yes this little pc keeps up well to where you can also switch to Windows 7. when you want. I have given this netbook a run to see how it goes being hit hard. First off on its battery I ran 2movies (VLC player), Had Itunes playing music, Websites open (hard running sites). and it ran a solid 6hrs. Now if you're off and on through out the whole day with typing (notepad/word), little web surfing the battery will go a little further. maybe around 8Hrs. Now in my scoring I said 4stars for performance. Only b/c samsung is strong about saying they battery is around a 12hr hold. Maybe if its just sitting with the screen saver on but doubtful. So my scoring of that is just a warning for those who are buying b/c of the battery. just dont be surprised. (and im saying this from a point of view that knew it was going to average around 6hrs of life). Another thing. Sound. this is not a boombox. This is not heavy hitting speakers. It does have HD speakers. but rem. the speakers are located on the bottom of this pc. And even though being small they are actually pretty good. It does have a good sound to it. I dont have trouble hearing videos or music even in a crowded airport (and thats not even with it all the way up and annoying others) but get your self a good set of headphones or earbuds (in a way this is what the netbook was more built for) the quality with average earbuds still does very well. (all together the sound is by far better than the new Toshiba NB305.) all and all out of the most popular netbooks, Toshiba, Gateway (at 250gb) this is better. Even its look is different but stylish and coo. Then again I didn't get this b/c of its style. I really enjoy this pc. The Wifi is great, catches signals easy and strong. Overall a great find and great buy. I don't see how anyone that knows what netbooks give you can be disappointed with this Samsung, unless you get a lemon. And rem. if you get a lemon Best Buy has a lemon policy, you just return it within 14days of purchase. and you can swap out or exchange or get refund. Hope this helps... oh yeah keyboard is by far awesome. Spaced out keys, and im a big guy and have big hands, and after about 3-5mins of typing I got use to this keyboard. btw, Im using this smasung N210 right now to type this review. Enjoy your samsung if you decide to purchase. Ltrz.I would recommend this to a friend

Great for someone who travels and goes to schoolPosted .
I bought this so because I do correspondence courses. When I started the classes, I wasn't travelling like I do now, and I had more time at home. but now, I have down time in between jobs and I am stuck 6 or 7 hours with time I could be doing something, but I didn't have the tools I needed to do my school work. As it turns out, this is a terrific tool, not just for school work, but with the webcam I can skype my mom. Excellent video and camera picture. Not great speed, but for the price, and what it is it is acceptable, and you can upgrade the memory, which will help. I think the battery life is okay. I've seen worse. I've not had any internet connection problems. So far everything I've done it has done fairly well. Just not good for games. Which is fine for me.I would recommend this to a friend

What a great little netbook!Posted .
I have now had the N210 since the 7th of April. I was a customer who had returned and exchanged twice due to issues with another brand. The Samsung is very well designed. The casing is scratch resistant. The screen is matte, not annoying glossy that is hard to see outside. One of only a few that have a matte screen (Bravo Samsung!). All the other specs are the same as other netbooks in this range. The battery usually lasts about 6 and half hours of real world usage. This may not be as long as some of the others, but the parts and build used for this netbook outclasses them. The RAM test on this is near the top (good quality) and the screen is sharp. Overall, I think this is the best "standard" netbook currently available.I would recommend this to a friend

Great little laptopPosted .
This is a nice netbook. I looked at the Eepc's as well. But bought this one because of the matte screen which supposedly is better for outside. And, yes, indeed, you can use it easily outside, just not in full sun, but in the shade it's fine. I wiped the hard disk and put XP on it. All works fine after you download the necessary drivers and software from the samsung website, 1 Gig of memory seems fine. I never tried the preloaded Windows 7. Another good thing about this laptop is that it has a 250GB hard disk, not a 160GB. Four stars for display and performance. Of course it's not the fastest computer, but it is totally adequate for web-browsing, Office, etc. The display is good too, just not excellent, but also, totally adequate for a laptop like this. But if I would rate it against similar netbooks it would get 5 stars all around.I would recommend this to a friend

Good product but...Posted .
Bought this netbook a few months ago and it has been great. Sleek design, nice keyboard (although slightly confusing sometimes), and quiet. However, after 2 weeks 1 pixel in the middle of the screen turned white. Called Samsung and this is not warrantable. Very fraustrating since it was brand new and had a defect. Then a couple of days ago it took a 1 foot fall onto a soft carpet and now the hard drive doesn't work. They're supposed to be rated to a several G force fall. Well I took the netbook apart and found that there were only 2 screws on 1 side of the hard drive holding it in place, meaning when it fell, it wasn't secure... Again though, no help from Samsung. It's a great Netbook, I love it, but just be careful with it and know you won't get much help.I would recommend this to a friend

Great companion laptopPosted .
This is my first netbook so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but what I can say is it performs very well for a $400 machine and the battery life will put a huge smile on people who are used to laptops that die out after just 2 hours. Web surfing is generally very fast and word processing is a joy thanks to the remarkably sturdy yet spacious keyboard. The anti-glare, matte screen is also a plus when you're not always working in a controlled-lighting environment. The glossy screens set to max brightness may look nice in the store but matte screens perform better in most situations and are also easier on the eyes. On the downside, video streaming was a little choppy but that's to be expected from a cheap netbook. Battery life was also just the slightest bit disappointing (I originally got 7-8 hours of battery life but that dropped to 6 on second use). Overall, I'm very happy with this netbook. It may be just a tiny bit overpriced but at less than $400 you're not going to be finding a much better deal anywhere else. If you keep your expectations realistic, this netbook will do everything you want it to with aplomb and look fantastic doing it too.I would recommend this to a friend

The netbook was good but OS is no go!Posted .
I bought this netbook last week. So far I like everything about netbook, but hasseled with window 7 starter for a week due to its slow speed. With only 1 GB RAM, the OS is too heavy for this one to handle. In fact, the problem is not this model but the window 7 starter that is installed almost all netbooks in other brand as well. I downgrade the OS to XP SP2 and then it worked so much better. If you need to buy a netbook, you have two options I guess. One is to buy extra 2GB RAM or downgrade to XP.I would recommend this to a friend
