I bought a 2014 Samsung 78" SUHD TV last year and when I saw this update evo box I read enough reviews to convince me to spend the money. I love the box, but don't get me wrong, ever since I bought the box, I've been having issues with my apps on my TV plus the fact that the new remote isn't as nice in my opinion. I do not notice any change in picture quality and it's a bummer that there's features that don't even work with my one year old TV. The question is would I recommend this box. Yes and no. Yes if you have the extra cash because it's definitely not something cheap, but all the latest and greatest updates are going to be released on this newest box of course so it'll eventually become necessary to buy. No I do not think its an absolute must at this point unless you want the latest and greatest. I was completely happy and content with my older box and to be honest, I didn't have any issues with my old box like I do with this one. So overall, I would wait if I could go back and do it all over. Hope that helps you guys out.

This is Samsung's third UHD Evolution One Connect kit, and three is a charm. My 55F9000 had the original SEK1500U, and while the picture quality was already great, it can only do 4K at 30Hz and had no access to 4K YouTube, Netflix, or Amazon Prime Streaming. All of the aforementioned require newer codecs, along with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2, as will 4K Blu Ray. Basically, your Samsung 4K TV isn't a true 4K tv until you upgrade to this box. At $400, it's very expensive, but a lot cheaper than buying a new TV. So a did a ton a research and read that the upgrades were easily worth the price of admission. In addition to adding 4K Netflix, YouTube, Amazon, UltraFlix, etc. it also adds a much faster octacore (8) processor, Tizen OS, and gives you 4 full 4K 60Hz inputs. Not a lot of TVs can do that. You also get 4K 60Hz with full 4:4:4 chroma for high end PCs. Did I mention that that picture quality is drastically improved. A good 1080p source will look near 4K quality. I've tested Netflix, Blu Ray, Xbox One, PS4, HD Cable, Wii U, and various other sources. Everything looked much. Better when compared to the original box. No regrets here.
