Q: Will this work for a desktop PC?
A: Yes it will but you will have to have a 2.5" mounting system for a hard drive so it will mount in the 3.5" slot or you might have a 2.5" slot available depending on how you case is designed. Some SSD drives come with mounting system for desktops but this particular one do not.
A: This SSD will fit any laptop that is a 2.5" SATA III sized. It is shaped like a laptop hard drive.
A: yes. it will fit no problem. it will be a LOT faster as well. you will have to reload windows. make sure you have the activation keys for windows or office, and any other programs handy. i recommend (i am a professional IT Administrator for 4 schools) loading windows from scratch instead of using a clone software that you can find on the SSD website. if you do a little google searching you can find the windows .iso (image file for windows) available for download. it will have to be burned to a 4gb (at least) flash drive, or a dvd. the flash drive would be faster. i use a free program called iso to usb to do so. after you load it up go to dell.com/support for the drivers. i would recommend getting the wireless (possibly wireless and bluetooth combined) and the ethernet drivers before you reload, as you might not have network connectivity after the reload until those drivers are installed. Q: I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch early 2011. Is this HD compatible?
A: I bought this SSD for my 2011 13" MBP and it works fine. Make sure to format the SSD in OSX disk utility. You need to erase the drive and format it into OS X extended journal. After that is should be up and running. Only thing is I wish I bought a 240+ gb ssd.

A: This is meant to be internal. It will directly replace a laptop hard drive. It can be used in a desktop with an adapter to fit iot to a 3.5" bay. It could be put into an external case and used externally as well.
