Q: How many hours of video will the flash drive hold?
A: Depends on the size of the video or movie. Amazing Spider-Man 2 is 851 MB on standard def and 2.11GB on HD So you can get about 7 copies on HD for a 16GB Flash Drive
Q: Is this compatible with MAC OS10.4
A: Cruzer 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive is compatible with Mac 10.1 and above version computers
Q: How do I use my 16GB 'Cruzer Glide?
A: Not exactly sure what you mean by using the Curzer Glide? Do you mean how do i use this in my computer or how do I use the software on it? 1) use it by inserting the USB end into any open USB port on your computer (look to match the ends as it will only go in one way - examine the end of the Glide and then the USB port on the computer and you should get the ides) 2) use the software depends greatly on what operating system you computer is running on (Windows 10, 8.1 , / Apple OSX or MacOS / Linux, etc) The backup software on the Glide will only work in the Windows environment. Good luck!
Q: can it be password protected
A: Yes, this drive can be password protected. But then, just about any flash drive can be password protected. This device comes with security software loaded on it, but I haven't used it myself. Additionally, there are a variety of security programs available for portable devices, and some of them have free versions available that will provide basic security such as offering password protection. However, all the programs take up space on the drive, so take that into account when making your buying decision. The total pre-installed software that comes on this drive is just a tad less than 50MB with the Sandisk Secure Access program accounting for only 9MB of that total. I hope this answers your question adequately.
Q: which capacity "flash drive" do I need?
A: Depending upon size of the picture files, 16 GB (~16000MB) would hold quite a few. If the average scan size were 8MB, which would actually be quite large for a scanned picture, then a 16GB flash drive could hold around 2000 pictures in theory. The person doing the scans could right mouse click on the scanned photo and click properties to see how large the file is to get a general idea of how many pictures would fit on 1 GB which is for round figures 1000 MB (even though technically it is defined as 1024) I always allow for a little space on the flash drive to be not filled so the drive should be able to access files easier. Hope this helps. I am not an expert, but have done several family photo projects
Q: Is this compatable with windows 7?
A: Yes, this devie is supported on Win XP, Win Vista, Win 7, and MAC OS 10.5+
A: It should work very well. I use it in my 2018 Chevrolet.
Q: can this be used for a labtop back-up?
A: Absolutely, that is exactly what I am doing with two 16GB drives, alternating each month between the two.
