Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Speed is 5x than hard drive (500mb/s vs 100mb/s); size is generally only 1/6 volume of hard drive. It is great. Any one knows to how to encrypt it on Mac?

Made in Malaysia?
Posted .Features
Quality1 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I just picked up a 2TB drive from my local Best Buy today and noticed that the box and device both say Made in Malaysia when I thought these were made in China. I'm wondering if got a Grey Market or counterfeit product? The SanDisk lettering on the front of the device looks worn off already and I just purchased this brand new and unsealed the box. Is this how they are supposed to come now? The serial number on the back of the device is very hard to read and not clearly marked which is also suspicious. Can someone from SanDisk chime in? I will update this review upon further communication from SanDisk.

Hard drive that actually WORKS!!???

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5After buying two other external hard drives from major brands that crapped out in hours or days I finally ponied up the bucks for this Sandisk Solid State drive and so far after almost a month and tons of downloads it works like a champ!! Don't waste your money on ANY standard external drive as they are junk IMHO.

Small but Mighty
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Took me a while to make the decision to purchase this external. The cost is high compared with 1TB or non-SSDs. However, I've been able to consolidate my files, move them off my limited SurfaceBook Pro, and a scattering of flash drives. The transfer of files is very fast and the storage amount gives me easy access to organize and view my photos.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Bought this on sale and use it for external PS5 drive. Put all your PS4 games on this and it loads very fast almost same as having on internal hard drive in ps5. Its a SSD with fast read. Its smaller than it looks like a CC size almost.

It's Good, just don't leave it plugged in

Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5For the most part, the SSD has done its job. While it functions well on its own, the main draw back is its connection when booting up the computer. After unplugging everything from my USB hub, I discovered that the SSD has some sort of interference with starting up the system causing me to have to unplug and replug it every use. It can be a bit frustrating and definitely not a problem I expected. My Wacom tablet and Blue snowball fire up with the computer just fine but for some reason, the SSD causes an interference. Outside of that hiccup, the drive functions well on its own (when there is no interference with the computer). It function fast and despite a couple of computer crashes thus far, the drive itself hasn't had an issue. The SSD is good for transferring data between computers, just be careful of keeping it plugged in when shutting down or booting up the PC.

Great place to reliably store photos and mem cards

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:CapacityI have the 2 TB device which holds a lot of images. Sd cards hold 32 to 64 GB typically so this will hold about 30 of my cards, but I dont have 30 cards since each one is $120. It is a no-brainer to buy this to back up files. It reads and writes incredibly fast using USB 3.0. I am very happy also that I caught it on sale.

Q: QuestionCan this device be password protected? I'm only interested in answers from people who actually have one and have password protected it.
Asked by Tina.
- A:Answer Yes but not the drive it self their is a vault program that everything goes into that is password protected. The software can be upgraded for better encryption as well. Keep in mind that moving stuff into the vault is very slow, I hope this helps. Kevin

- A:Answer It’s a Solid State Drive (SSD), there are no moving parts. I will say that it does have lightning fast read and write speeds. Backed up about 700gigs in about 20 mins.

Q: QuestionCan this be swapped back and forth between PC and Mac, to transfer files from one to another? Or does it need to be formatted specifically for one or the other like most hard drives? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am not a tech person.
Asked by Arlingtonhoo.
- A:Answer Yes, it can be used to transfer files between Mac and PC. I don’t remember the out of box format, but from Mac’s disk utilities format as FAT. I have used it this way.

Q: QuestionWill this work to store games via the next gen consoles? PS5/Xbox Series X
Asked by E.
- A:Answer Hi, please be informed that this SSD can be connected as an external drive connected to a PS5 or an XBOX Series X Gaming Console. However, please note that if these consoles allow playing games that are installed on an externally connected disk drive, then you should be able to play games on your PS5/ XBOX using this SSD Drive. In order to know how to do the same if possible, we suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the corresponding gaming console.
