Excellent Value on a MP3 Player
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis MP3 Player has anything that you could look for. Going right down the line... . Sound Quality: Outstanding. It has many preset EQ programs and another that you can customize to your own taste. As long as your MP3 is ripped at a good bitrate, you will like the sound. . Player Interface: Recommended. With the trackwheel, it is incredibly easy to navigate and everything is in a logical place. With the fact that this model was designed to work with Rhapsody, getting new music is relatively easy. It also supports just about any format you could ask for, including WMA (which most, including iPod, do not support) . Software Interface: Okay. I found the Rhapsody software relatively easy to navigate around. Getting it to sync with the Sansa was easy as well. There are some parts, such as locating music, which can be clunky. I am also less than impressed with the organization of your personal music library. This can also use the drag-and-drop method if you don't want to use a software interface. . Screen: Recommended. It's great for what it is. It is sharp, bright and easy to see. The text is easy to read and any pictures show up well. The only downside is that the screen is relatively small. Considering the overall size of the Sansa, this is expected. . Durability: Outstanding. The metal back gives the Sansa a very solid base. With the removal of 4 small screws, the battery can also be replaced when it reaches the end of its useful life. Speaking of the battery, one charge lasts a very long time. I took the Sansa on a business trip with me and never had to charge it once. Also, since it's a Flash-based player, there are no moving parts. While I wouldn't recommend testing this, you don't have to worry about dropping the unit as much as the Hard Drive based units. . Package Contents: Okay. The package contains the player, USB cable and a few other, miscellaneous things. The glaring exclusion was a separate charger. The only charger is the interface USB cable. In order to work with your Sansa, you must have a USB 2.0 port (which on most modern computers is not an issue). The lack of a charger is a big "ding" in my book. I also didn't find the packaged ear buds comfortable. . Accessories: Recommended. It's not the iPod where you can't walk into a store without seeing something for it. At the same time, I found Sansa-specific speakers from Altec Lansing which have a very good sound and charge the Sansa. There are also a few cradles for it as well as MANY carrying cases from different vendors and of different styles. It's second only to the iPod. . Overall: Recommended. The annoyance that I have with it is the lack of a charger in the packaging and the software interface with Rhapsody. Other than those two issues, I highly recommend the Sansa e250R to anyone looking for a music player that doesn't necessarily need to hold an entire music library and those who have an active lifestyle. If you're looking for something to show videos on or store a very large music library, this is not the unit for you. If you are looking for a great music player that also shows videos, this is the unit you're looking for.

great mp3 player
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is a great mp3 player for audiobooks and podcasts. The 2 GB capacity is plenty. It also has a nice display for photos and video files. The resolution for pictures and videos is very clear and sharp. There are plenty of accessories that will work with the Sansa. I like running the Sansa through my car speakers. The battery lasts at least 18 hours. Also, you can get a USB charger to plug into an electric outlet when traveling and you can't get to a computer to charge your Sansa. I suggest switching the configuration to Plays For Sure and NOT the default Rhapsody. You may encounter DRM problems with downloaded audiobooks from the library unless you are in Plays For Sure mode. I also suggest deleting all the pre-loaded Rhapsody music. It takes up too much room on your 2GB drive. Once you deleted these files, you will have plenty of room for your books and podcasts. A minor drawback is the method to fast forward through a file. You have to keep holding down a button which only advances 15 seconds at a time. This is fine for a music file, but I use my Sansa for books where each file is at least an hour long. I highly recommend this mp3 player. I have had mine almost a year and use it at least 1-1/2 hours a day commuting in my car. It is a perfect size for travel. It's just great.

Good, Not Best
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI always never wanted an Apple i pod, because half of the price is because of the name, so I looked for less advertised mp3 players. For all of you reading this, know that the player charges when pluged into the computer. I had a hard time loading the intallation CD into my Vista Buisness comp. I had to turn off my Data Execution Prevention (DEP) off inorder to load it on. My comp. thought that it would hurt the data, so it would bring up "the program has stopped working, windows is searching for a solution" notice. I had to turn of the DEP, then click "open disk to view files" on the autorun feature in vista whenever it detected a DVD or CD rom in the drive. I think that it's great that you get two months of free acess to songs from the BESTBUY online digital store. With everything, try to buy it on a sale, which I did for $30 off. The device itself is nice and compact, but the surface smudges easily. It takes a little time to get used to the controls, but you will eventually get the hang of it. The lowest volume setting on normal is pretty loud. Use the 2 months of free Best Buy Music store for your advantage. It is also user friendly in the online store, and even burning CDs or DVDs.

easy to use
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was looking at a lot of MP3 players I own 3 of them this is my first that will do Videos. I like the way you can just drag and drop your music into the main music folder and it all comes together very easy to use. the sound is OK it could be better but of course it depends on what type of file you use MP3 or WMA ect. this will effect your sound quality it has easy to use buttons and a nice spin dial that lights up blue. I use a pair of Bose headphones and off to sleep I go. I would recommend this to anyone its a great MP3 player. You will need a case to protect the screen and the black case is a finger print magnet I use a soft optical lens cloth to keep the main body and screen clean but I would suggest some type of protection leather case ect. also you can only store videos on in the main memory not on the extended so I store all my music on the extended microsd and Videos Podcast on the main memory.

Nice Player But DRM An Issue
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is a very nice and sturdy player. It is very easy to manuver through the menus and find songs. The color screen makes it visually appealing. Overall a very nice player. However, the way it deals with DRM (Digital Rights Management) and the two modes MSC and MTP can be very confusing even to the most knowledgeable techies. The microSD card addition is nice, however do not put any DRM tracks on the card. There seems to be alot of syncing issues, because of the DRM. The player is very nice, but do not expect a simple time loading music tracks. The photo feature is very nice but the overall display size of photos leaves a little to be desired. A nice player, but if you change music on it frequently don't expect it to be a simple task.

So So
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendActually it is a decent player for the money. Unless you are already a Rhapsody client I suggest you look at the 250 not the 250R. Rhapsody is free for 60 days and it is okay as it has things like My Channels and My Library that let you alternate your choice of content. But, at 15.00 a month you still have to buy music that you want to burn. I am having trouble with the Rhapsody, it sometimes disconnects me and sometimes it loads the same music on the player multiple times. Also, the picture and video transfers only work if I switch from Rhapsody mode to MTP mode. All in all I like it and the price is fair but at least check out the Rhapsody website before you decide on the 250 or the 250R version.

Good Value
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAfter futzing around with an 60g.Ipod for a few years I decided to keep it as my home unit and buy a smaller unit for day to day activities.I am pleasantly surprised at how nice this product is. Solid construction and the metal back was a nice touch. I love the blue light around the dial! So happy to be able to just drag and drop tunes into the unit. The real selling point on this was the fact that it is expandable. There is a micro SD slot on the side for memory expansion. Dont know if I'll ever use the FM tuner but it keeps my options open. I rate this unit as Outstanding because it truely surpassed all of my expectations.

Great overall value
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendPreviously owned an Ipod mini and wanted to upgrade to the less dated nano. A friend told me about this. It's getting to be pretty popular. It exceeds the capabilty of the most current nano (gen 3), and isn't that much thicker. But the cheap navigation wheel and the hard buttons pale in comparison to the Ipod's click wheel. Some other little gripes here and there, like it is difficult to put video on, and watching it kills your battery. But other wise, in my oppinion, a much better value. The radio and voice recording is a nice feature. Plus, you can expand memory, something the nano can't do. I won't say I wouldn't upgrade to a Zune or Ipod, but for now, this is great.
