Excellent Value
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI did a lot of research before I made this purchase. I like that the e280r had Rhapsody software built in, which makes the transfer of music from Rhapsody to my player seamless. If you are looking at the e280r that is probably part of the reason why you are looking at this player and I assure the set up is real easy, however instead of Rhapsody it is called the Best Buy Music Store. The player's interface is simple to understand and easy to navigate with the scroll wheel. The audio sounds good and has preset eqs as well as a customizable eq as well as a loudness feature. The Rhapsody Channels feature is a real nice feature that allows you to download "channels" similar to a radio format. You can reaquaint yourself with old favs. or hear new music and if you want to keep the tracks you simply press a button. Pics and videos are little more involved to install on the player. You need to use the provided software to convert videos to a format the player will use. However the manual on the installation cd explains it all rather well. In conclusion whether this will be your first player or you are looking for an upgrade Sansa has make a quality product with good features at a reasonable price for a flash based player. I should mention I have had this player for about 10 months.

It's Not Perfect, but Close Enough for Me
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI love my Sansa. I worked in sales selling mostly Ipods for over 2 years, and I had been waiting for a player to come on the market that offered all of the features I wanted without the high Apple price tag. After convincing several of my customers to get off of the Apple bandwagon, my husband finally suprised me with my very own. Pros: -Beautiful, bright display. Pictures and videos look very crisp. -Expandible memory. I primarily keep my pictures and videos on a 1GB card and save the internal memory for my music. It works out really nicely. -Rhapsody. I'm the type of person who only usually likes one or two songs from an album, so with the BBDMS I can only choose the songs I actually want to hear. -Features. I love the fact that there isn't much I can't do with my player, (FM radio, voice recorder, video, etc.) and I spent waay less than my friends with ipods. Cons: -Buttons. The buttons along the outside of the wheel are a bit small and narrow. Somewhat hard to press if you're a lady with long fingernails. Also, it takes a few tries to get it to switch to the next song sometimes. -Sound quality. I'm not a huge audiophile, but when I listen to it with the headphones it sounds alright, but then when I use either my cassette adapter or my fm transmitter (depending on which car I'm in) it sounds a little "tinny" in the background even when you update the EQ settings. -Lack of accessories. Since I got mine when they first came out, I had the hardest time finding a case at first. As time went on more things became available, but there wasn't nearly the selection you'd hope to find. Aside from a few minor details, Sandisk has put out the best vaule player, and I will continue to recommend it to my friends and family.

Gotta love
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis product is very well put together. To start,it fits in your hands comfortably, not to mention, its a pretty good fit in your pocket.case preferred, and good quality earphones such as BOSE,or sony which is one of the best.It has FM transmitter built-in,but of course, any portable mp3 with that feature has trouble connecting from just anywhere.so be prepared for minor frustration. It has a good quality screen and big icons so its easy for anyone. Its 8 GB's,it'll hold what you need.videos,if you want, you can get,but only with some formats, but if you have a good computer which is up-to-date,everything goes good.and dont worry,if u got the product right with you,you can surely wait at least 5-7 minutes to read directions and get software in to enjoy this well put-together product. If you really care about your music, get this wonderful product, but if you need more music and video capacity,I even recommend the zune at a higher standard to the sandisk.Consider both products wisely. But overall, this product is a must.

Great Player For What It's Worth
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI think this is a great MP3 price-wise compared to most other mp3 players with the same storage space. The fact that it can play WMA files as well as mp3's and AAC files is a bonus. I use this player both to hold my music and as a generic storage device, and being able to plug in an extra 2 gigs into the expansion slot is also cool. Recently, my 2 month rhapsody trial wore off, and since I didn't want to renew it I decided to remove the rhapsody files. Bad idea to do it from Rhapsody but you can do simple drag and drops outside of Rhapsody. The sound quality isn't what I expected it to be, and sometimes the player would freeze up but it does not happen often. My biggest complaint would be charging it. The light is always on, and while it isn't too much of a problem sometimes it can get annoying. When I first bought it, I could find no AC adapter for it, but now I believe there are some out there. Also by modifying the USB cable I was able to charge it while listening to music.

a good mp3 player
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendthis is my 4th different mp3 player thus far (my ipod 80 gb was stolen, my wife uses my old iriver, and my insignia 4gb broke after 2 days). For the most part, I'm pleased with the sound and quality for an 8 GB mp3 with video and pictures. I bought it for $150, which sealed the deal. The music is easily transferrable with Rhapsody, however im only using it for the the free trial 2 months. I did have problems transferring audiobooks i downloaded from the chicago public library website, but i think it works after changing from rhapsody mode to playsforsure mode. the navigation wheel is obviously not as nice as ipod nor are the buttons around the wheel ergonomic, but the equivalent ipod is $100 more and doesnt have video capabilities. Havent tried videos yet...I was debating between this and the iriverclix 2nd gen, but best buy didnt sell it

Great Product
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis was a great purchase. Pros: Great pre-installed music. (can only get certain songs if you buy at bestbuy) great menu and button layout. The memory card expansion is a good plus. There is a voice AND radio recorder, which i think is pretty cool. Has a record button on the side so you don't have to press much to record. Comes with great headphones (if you like in-ear). It can play videos, too. Cons: Scratches very easily. Doesn't come with a wall charger. (you charge through the computer) The backlight doesn't stay on for very long. (I like having the backlight on for a while) Those aren't really bad cons, just little annoyances. I think this is a lot better than my brother's iPod Nano. It's also a lot cheaper.

BETTER THAN IPOD
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendTHIS PLAYER WAS A REPLACEMENT FOR THE e280. I HAVE THE 280R FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND IT PLAYS VERY WELL I HAVEN'T HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH IT LIKE I DID WITH THE NON RHAPSODY VERSION OF THIS PLAYER. IT CAN BE SOMEWHAT ERRATIC AT TIMES, BUT YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO GET IT TO WORK AGAIN. I'VE LEARNED HOW TO GET IT WORKING AGAIN BECAUSE I HAD SO MUCH BAD LUCK WITH THE OTHER PLAYER . ONCE YOU GET BY THIS IT REALLY IS A GREAT LITTLE PLAYER FOR THE MONEY. I LIKE THE FACT THAT WHEN THIS BATTERY DIES I WON'T HAVE TO GO BACK TO APPLE AND SHELL OUT MORE MONEY! ALSO IT HAS A FM RADIO, (WHICH IPOD DOES NOT) VIDEO AND THE STYLE IS NICE. I GOT RID OF THE RHAPSODY CHANNELS AND PRELOADED MUSIC IT TOOK UP TOO MUCH SPACE.

Forget the iPod.. it's time for an upgrade
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is SanDisk's entry against Apple's iPod, and I'll tell you.. WOW. And here's why. 1) Same dimensions as an iPod Nano 2) Same MP3 playing ability as an iPod Nano here's the big one 3) Same VIDEO capabilities as an iPod Video I'm not sure why this isn't touted more in the item Specs, but yes, this baby will play video as well as music. The only negative aspect is that you must convert all videos to SanDisk's proprietary format using their included software. It's a bit time consuming and I'm not sure why SanDisk did this. Outside of that, great product, FANTASTIC price, and you don't have to join the iPod herd.
