I love all of my SanDisk ext storage drives. This one was necessary as my devices are changing to Type-C. It is small, sleek and plenty of storage space for my needs. It fits snug in my devices. The sliding cover is a good idea but hard to hold when inserting. I predict it will break off eventually but will still be able to use it even so. I will keep an eye out for a new design as the Type-C is still relatively new on the market.

I've been on "Team SanDisk" as my source for most flash memory products since the first 32MB SmartMedia card I bought for my Creative Labs MP3 player in the early 2000s to my go-to source for the fastest and most reliable Extreme/Ultra SD cards for my DSLR. I've also almost exclusively relied on SanDisk for my Thumb Drive needs since the days of very limited capacity. This 128GB Type-C stick fits right into the family. 128GB is a nice storage capacity for lots of file moving and storage of a bootable OS installer, and room left over for application installers and license files for one-drive reinstallations or repairs of multiple PCs with the new ports. These drives are still hard to find but I'm glad SanDisk was out there early, keeping me from having to buy a sub-par brand or a slower drive to fill the need now that many of my PCs/Devices ONLY offer Type-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports (MacBook (1 port), MacBook pro (4 ports, all Type-C), HP EliteBook Folio (2 TB3 ports), etc). I've only bought one at this point as I'm looking to move to a 256GB stick as soon as prices come down for storage of more installer content while leaving room for sneakernet activities. The drive is fast, small, and still offers a loop for lanyard connectivity. If only SanDisk still offered those lanyards in the package, or at least sold them in stores in the thumb drive aisle - They were useful to keep from losing a fob with valuable OS installers and programs/documents on board! The loop is also useful for adding a stick to your favorite keyring. TL;DR: Great build quality, good speed, and nice, tight fit! A must have for new MacBook/Elitebook owners who are stuck without port choices!

I recently bought this usb c drive to access some of my pc files from my phone. The usb c works fine with the phone, however the recommended app for the drive, didn't play video files and I had to use another app to access videos. As far as transfer speeds go I found this to not be the fastest drive, even though it claims to have 3.0 speeds. It also gets kind of hot to the touch. Overall this is a nice flash drive but its not perfect. There are probably better choices out there. I find it hard to recommend unless youre trying to access files from an android phone. So I'd probably stick to usb 3.0.
