When I got this HD, I install it in an external HD case with USB 3 connection and it works fine: I can copy files into it from my PC, and vice versa. However, when I install it onto my PC, PC kept showing HD error. After few tries, I found the reason: it's because the HD slot in my PC is not horizontal but at about 45 degrees. If this HD is installed like that and turn on the PC's power, I got HD error message. If I remove it from the PC's HD slot but with the cables connected, there's no error after I turned on the power. It seems that this HD can be only operated in a flat position. However, my other HDs (all West Digital ones) installed in the slots work fine. Because of this weird problem, I can only put this HD in the external HD case ( which is flat resting on my desk) to use it. Since I already loaded a lot of files into this HD, I don't want to return it. But this weird problem really is annoying....
