Workhorse director John Stockwell takes us along on the hunt for 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden in this intense docudrama following the fearless U.S. Navy SEALs who raided the heavily-fortified compound occupied by the world's most wanted terrorist. As top military leaders narrow their search for bin Laden to a massive Pakistani compound, the Pentagon realizes this may be their one chance to capture the man they've been hunting for over a decade. Though consequences of a surprise American military raid in Pakistan could spark serious international tensions, SEAL Team Six is given the orders to strike, setting into motion one of the most daring, crucial, and potentially dangerous missions in modern military history. SEAL Team Six: The Raid on Osama bin Laden [Blu-ray]
This is the best Seal Team movie I've seen! I've heard the account of the actual raid, from the man who killed Bin Laden, and also others who were there, and this movie is very accurate in depicting that raid, according to the story told by ST6! The actors are great in it, and the direction, cinematography and production are first rate! If you want to watch the story behind the killing of Bin Laden, this is your movie! Awesome job!
I LOVED IT!!!!!!! ON THE EDGE ON MY SEAT ALL THE W
I LOVE THIS MOVIE-GLAD I BOUGHT IT. IT MAKES ME PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! I WALKED INTO BEST BUY HOPING TO BUY APOLLO 13 ON DVD BECAUSE THAT IS MY FAVORITE MOVE OF ALL TIME! AND MY DVD PLAYER DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE!!! I GET A 'CRAVING TO SEE APOLLO 13 WHEN I NEED INSPIRATIONAL SUPPORT.
This film, while not of the same caliber or the same take as the excellent film "Zero Dark Thirty" which is also about the raid to get Bin Laden, is, nonetheless, a good film. The film highlights the members of Seal Team Six, the personal lives, interaction with each other and problems some of them had with one another, before they are chosen for the mission to get Bin Laden. The film gives a good accounting of what Seal Teams are like, their training and operational methods and focuses on the team and its mission to acquire "Geronimo." The movie is well filmed and well acted with a lot of suspense filled moments. I would recommend it to anyone who has either seen or not seen other films on the Bin Laden raid.
This was a great action movie and it had an interesting plot. However, I feel it could have been more gritty. It seemed at times to be a little to stylized - just an opinion. Overall it was very entertaining and I would recommend it to anyone.
This review is of the movie. I am not a fan of war movies ever since my years in Iraq, but I did watch this due to my curiosity. This movie gives a great plot, telling a story about how they were able to track Osama Bin Laden down and capture him.
The movie is short, approx 1 hr and 20 mins. It is narrated at times by two members of Seal Team 6 throughout the movie and is presented in a documentary drama way. The actual fighting scene only lasts about 10 mins, and it is not very gruesome at all. Very well done as we have seen way too much of that. This movie also goes into the mission planning that the team had to do and how they trained for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
It does show still photographs of President Barack Hussein Obama and other members of his chief of staff in the mission briefing room while the raid was taking place. It also shows who was for the raid and who was against it.
The graphics are not multi million dollar hollywood quality, but they do a fairly good job. It was nice to see the effort being put into the behind the scenes and the story of the mission rather than focusing on gunfire and explosions.
I am not sure that I would watch this movie again and again, but I would certainly suggest to others to at least view this one time.
I would recommend this to a friend
