Let me start this review by saying that the mattress replaced with this one with is also a Sealy. It also cost me around the same amount for a queen (roughly $700). That mattress has lasted 14 years, and honestly is still very comfortable to sleep on, not lumpy in the slightest or any coil issues. But heck yeah I wanted a new one, and boy did I score big with this Hybrid! It's so comfortable to sleep on, like a cloud, with a firm foundation. I was not expecting this mattress to come compressed and rolled up in a box.. so imagine my surprise when I come home to a long rectangular box behind my porch. The box was quite heavy and not very easy to get up 6 stairs and inside the door. But I managed, all by myself. So just be aware of that if you live alone, or simply with a child too young to help you lol. Once the compression wrapping was off it plumped up very quickly. It said to give it 48 hours to fully decompress, but come on, who's going to wait that long to sleep on their new bed?! It was opened around 9:30am and not slept on until approximately 9:30pm, so 12 hours. It felt completely fine to me and was very comfy. I will say that it had a funky smell, which the instructions said will go away in about 72hrs, and to let it "air out" for that amount of time... once again, who is going to do that?! If I have a new mattress I want to sleep on it ASAP. So I dealt with the smell for a few nights and poof, it was gone. I had honestly forgotten about it before I realized it went away. Definitely not a big deal, just thought I'd mention it! This mattress it also thicker than my previous one, with the added memory foam layer on top. I was a bit worried the fitted sheet wouldn't fit, but it was just fine, no issues at all. Also important to note, I have pretty sever back and neck pain, and though I wasn't expecting much, this mattress has definitely helped! I don't know how, because I didn't change my pillow, but my neck pain is almost non-existent now, after only a week of sleeping on this mattress! My back however is a different story, I have a lower spinal curve with pretty severe lower back pain, which is at its very worst in the mornings. I have noticed a difference in the amount of pain I have when getting out of bed, and in my ability to bend forward. That's a win for me! This mattress cannot solve my back issues, but it has most definitely helped. All in all I absolutely LOVE this mattress and will recommend it to anyone, especially those with neck and back pain!
Amazingly, this mattress came in a box about 4 feet tall and 1.5 feet square (see picture)! The box is quite heavy, so it probably is best to have a little help getting the mattress in the house and out of the box if you're not capable of lifting around 80 lbs without injuring yourself.
All of the air is taken out of the mattress, it's rolled up and shrink wrapped as small as it can get! You take it out of the box, lay it where you want to set it ideally, then remove the outer shrink wrap with a scissors. While you're doing this, the mattress starts to expand, and sounds pretty cool as it's expanding. Once you get the outer shrink wrap cut, the mattress is wrapped in another layer of plastic bag which is most likely used when they're sucking all the air out. Cut that to remove it and the mattress is pretty much full size, although the instructions say it can take up to 48 hours for the mattress to fully regain it's original size. I slept on mine a few hours after taking it out of the box and laid on it about 15 minutes after it started expanding and it was already comfortable and good for laying on.
The mattress is made up of inner coils with a very comfortable memory foam style top layer about 2 1/2 inches thick. The underside of the mattress has a thinner foam layer as far as I can tell. It's a firm mattress, with the memory foam acting as a kind of pillow top, although it feels different than a normal pillow top mattress I would say. It forms to your body as you lay on it, and the rest of the mattress remains fairly flat and solid, so for 2 people you're not going to sink into the middle. Definitely a different feel than a traditional mattress I would say.
The mattress has an outer cover on it that adds to the comfort of the top layer. You don't need a box spring for this mattress if you don't already have one. The coils are very quiet when you're moving around on the mattress. I didn't hear any sound that you might expect from mattress springs / coils.
The mattress comes with a 10 year limited warranty from Sealy, and easy to read instructions for unpacking and setup.
Looking forward to more restful nights on my new mattress!
I've been sleeping on this mattress for about two weeks now and I am very impressed. My girlfriend and I sleep on a much more expensive King memory foam mattress in our main bedroom that we absolutely love. When I received this Sealy Hybrid mattress, it went in one of our spare bedrooms. I've been sleeping in it daily to see what kind of support and comfort this Hybrid Sealy mattress provides...for me, it is PERFECT!!! The bolsa coils coupled with the memory foam on this mattress provides for some ridiculously comfortable sleep with just the right amount of support. I would say it's well balanced. This mattress is not too stiff and not too soft either. This mattress easily rivals our much more expensive mattress in our main bedroom. I have not been able to find any perceivable faults that make this an inferior mattress as far as rest and comfort go. The mattress seems very breathable and extremely durable.
The delivery of this mattress was amazing! It came boxed in a relatively compact rectangular cardboard box. The way the manufacturer packed the mattress was ingenious. The whole mattress is held tightly together inside the box by plastic packing. Unboxing it was very easy. This "To "Go" line is perfect for people who live in apartments, condos, or people who just want an extremely hassle free mattress delivery. I love this mattress and it will be getting tons of use for the years to come.
The Sealy To Go Hybrid Mattress arrived in an unusually small box, for any mattress, let alone a queen size mattress! It’s a bit on the heavy side, you’ll probably need 2 people, although my UPS guy brought in by himself. The instructions, that I read after the fact, tells you to cut the plastic wrap with scissors and not a knife. It also instructs you to air out in a well ventilated room for 24-72 hours…oops. We unpacked it, my son and I jumped right on it. It was still very comfortable. There was a bit of an oder, but that went away fairly quickly.
I’ve been using a memory foam pillow for years and I love it. I’ve always wanted to try a foam mattress but was concerned about drawbacks I’ve heard about, such as foam mattresses retains body heat. This Sealy mattress is a combination of traditional coils with a memory foam layer. After sleeping on this mattress for over a week, I’m happy to report, this is one of the most comfortable mattresses I’ve slept on! One thing I’ve noticed with my old, traditional mattress, if I wake up and lie in bed for another hour or two, my back starts to ache. With the new one, I don’t have that problem. I can waste the whole day away on my iPad and no pain! As for the foam mattress retaining body heat, I have not yet noticed that happening, although the weather in the northeast has not been very warm, about mid 50’s. Perhaps the hybrid design of coil spring and a foam layer does not retain body heat.
My old mattress is only about 3-4 years old and was fairly expensive, it’s a traditional coil spring mattress with a thin foam layer. While the difference in comfort between my old mattress and this new one isn’t dramatically different, I like the newer one better since my back doesn’t ache on it when lying on it for extended periods of time. The Sealy To Go Hybrid offers a lot for the price. If I had to replace my kid’s mattresses, I would definitely consider these!
Buying a bed is difficult because laying on a bed for 5 minutes in a store is not the same as sleeping on it overnight and over long periods of time. I am happy to say that this bed did not let me down. Right from the start it was very comfortable.
Also, if you are thinking about buying this bed, you might want to know that it comes packaged in a rather small box. The mattress is actually folded in half and rolled up like a sleeping bag. All the air is sucked out of the bag and when you tear the outer plastic piece it literally inflates. It's pretty amazing that after it inflates it feels exactly like any other mattress.
I would also classify this bed as not too hard and not too soft. If I sleep in a hard bed my back will hurt the next day. The same with a soft bed. Amazingly, after sleeping on this bed for a few nights I noticed that the discomfort I used to feel in the mornings was gone.
I know everyone has a different take on bed firmness, but I have slept on a lot and this one seems to have the right fit, at least for me.
We have only had this mattress for a few nights, but so far I am very impressed.
To begin, the new "ToGo" way if packaging mattresses is brilliant. Its actually kinda fun to pull it out of the box and just watch it expand as you cut open the air sealed plastic. The instructions said allow 48 hours to full decompress, but honestly I think it was pretty much all the way there within an hour or two.
As for comfort, I love it! I hate super soft mattresses and I also don't like them solid as a rock. This is a happy medium. It was listed as being medium to soft. I would say it leans more towards medium. The memory foam is great. Very little break in needed.
In a very short time on the first night we got it we felt right at home with it. The 12" depth is nice as well. I have a feeling this will last us a very long time.
i was searching really hard to find a new bed, i finally got with this, i been reading alot about this new memory foam hybrid bed, some of the say it's really comfort, but also theres some complains about it, like after 3 months parts of the bed start sinking, it's been 2 months since i got this and til now no complains at all, wishing to fill out this rating passing the 3 month period, but i just go ahead with it,

6 months sleeping on it and still love it...
It replaced a classic Sealy 6 year old mattress.
This one beats it by far, and at a fraction of what we paid for the other one thats was already giving us a bad uncomfortable sleep for a few years.
So happy we switched to this hybrid mattress!
As comfortable as can ever slept!
Wished we discovered this before...
Sleep super comfortable all night..
Definitely very recommended!
A:AnswerYes it comes in 1 piece box. I don't know how it fit, but as soon as we opened it the bed expanded to a queen size as specified. Probably the most comfortable bed I've bought in my life. The price I would say is fair for its quality and confortness.
