Game downloads are digital versions of video games. When you buy a game digitally, you download it directly from the internet instead of getting it in a box. In many cases, when you pre-order a digital game, you can preinstall it so it’s ready to play the moment the game is officially released. In addition to full video games and game guides, you can get additional content that is created for a video game that’s already been released. This downloadable content (DLC) can range anywhere from an outfit change to a new, extensive storyline. DLC might include new game modes, levels, challenges or other features.

If you have any games that you no longer play — and they’re still in playable condition — you can trade them in for a Best Buy Gift Card through our video game trade in program. Use the trade-in estimator to receive an estimate of your game’s trade-in value. If the value of your game is acceptable to you, you’ll register with the trade-in center. Then, a Best Buy e-Gift Card will be emailed to you within 10 days of receipt of your game.
