Clearance and On Sale Upright Freezers

When you think about getting a deep freezer to increase your long-term food storage, you may think of a chest freezer. However, chest freezers are not the only option when you want a separate deep freezer appliance. While a chest freezer is best for large items that can be stacked, which makes it popular with hunters and fishers, an upright freezer provides easier access to many smaller items and packages.

Both freezers are popular options for large households because the freezer compartment in an ordinary refrigerator is often not large enough for the amount of frozen food families want to have on hand.

When choosing an upright freezer, consider these 7 things to know before you buy a standalone freezer, such as the cubic capacity available for storage, the measurements of your new appliance (so you can anticipate how and where it will fit in your home) and the energy usage of your new machine.

Standup freezers include shelving that makes it simple to organize your frozen goods and easy to access them when you want. For the most control over how you set up your new freezer, choose an upright freezer with adjustable shelving. That way, you can also remove shelves to order to accommodate large items. Another useful feature is the temperature alarm. A freezer with a temperature alarm can alert you to any electrical outage or issue that is threatening your long-term food storage.

An upright freezer may be easier to fit in your kitchen, basement or garage thanks to its smaller ground footprint and its use of vertical storage space.
