Moisture Sensor Electric Dryers

Whether you are replacing an old electric dryer, converting a gas dryer to an electric model or outfitting a brand-new laundry room with your new clothes dryer, you can narrow your choices down by identifying your space requirements and functionality preferences.

In terms of space, you will want to measure the space available for your new electric dryer as well as the doorways that lead to that space—you need to be able to get your machine where you want it to go. It’s also good to pay attention to which way the door should open for the greatest convenience. If you have very limited space, consider a combo washer/dryer—one machine that does everything.

In terms of features, consider dryer settings that you may find particularly useful. For instance, if you want to conserve energy, you can shop for ENERGY STAR-certified dryers. You might also appreciate a dryer with a moisture sensor, which can turn off automatically as soon as the clothes are dry.

When installing a clothes dryer, you usually need to consider ventilation. While there are ventless dryers, most clothes dryers need a dryer vent kit attached. Consider calling Best Buy’s professional appliance delivery and installation team to make the installation of your new electric clothes dryer easier. The team can also haul away your old dryer.

To increase storage space in your laundry room, you may want a washer/dryer pedestal for both your electric dryer and your washing machine. Alternatively, a pedestal washer could serve you well by giving you a small, efficient appliance for handling delicate handwashes or mini laundry loads.

If you are still deciding between a gas dryer and an electric dryer, some of the benefits of electric include the elimination of a gas leak risk and the ability to power your dryer with renewable energy. Because of this, some regions are encouraging homeowners to convert gas appliances to electric.
