Remote Monitoring Smart Door Locks

Smart locks make life easier when you want to share access to a secure space. With a smart door lock, you can share access without handing out copies of your key and without needing to be present upon someone’s arrival. Plus, they can be used independently or added to a smart home security system or smart home set-up.

There are keyless entry door locks for both doorknobs and deadbolts, and there are a few different tech options for the lock mechanism. Many electronic door locks include a keypad so that you can program a code for entry (and update it as often as you want). There are also digital door locks that use a biometric reading, such as a fingerprint scan, for locking and unlocking. Smart door locks with app compatibility have the added convenience of offering remote access and control.

When choosing the best door smart lock, consider what kind of access you want to create and what security measures you would like to have in place. If advanced door security is what you’re looking for, consider smart locks with remote monitoring, which can send alerts to your smartphone much like a smart doorbell does. For rental situations, such as Air BnB space, using a reprogrammable coded door lock makes access simple and secure for each new guest. You can simply change the code between visits. If convenience is your priority, you may enjoy a fingerprint entry lock on your door.

If you are replacing a conventional lock with a smart lock, you will usually have to cut a larger space of the lock in the door.
