Wireless Chargers for the iPhone and Android

Why Use Wireless Charging for Your Phone?

While most people use a charger with a cable to charge their smartphone battery, wireless charging is becoming increasingly common. With a wireless charger, you reduce the number of cables you have in your home or office. Most wireless cell phone chargers are circular pads or mounts. If your device is compatible with the wireless charger, you simply place your device on the pad and it charges. If your device isn't compatible, there are phone cases that are compatible with wireless chargers.

Wireless charging could be just the start of going wireless. For instance, you can listen to music on wireless earbuds. Another way to go wireless is with a smartwatch. With a smartwatch, you can send and receive texts and voicemails.

Samsung Wireless Charging Options

As the first company to go "all-in" on wireless charging, there are many Samsung wireless chargers. It was the first company to adopt Qi (pronounced "chee") as its wireless standard. Each Samsung smartphone release since the Samsung Note 5 is Qi enabled. Earlier releases, such as the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4, can be Qi-enabled with a separate charging phone case.

iPhone Wireless Charging

Notably, older versions of the iPhone were not compatible with Qi wireless charging. For instance, if you own an iPhone 6 and want to charge wirelessly, you will need to purchase an iPhone wireless charging case. This changed with the release of the latest iPhones. Perhaps the most important new feature of the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and the iPhone X is wireless charging. While wireless chargers are not included with these devices, you can purchase a Qi charger for wireless charging.

No one wants to miss an important text or call due to a dead battery. Whatever smartphone you use, a wireless phone charger offers simplicity and convenience.
