A: Yes, the oven door, outer cabinet, oven cavity, accessory and especially the heating elements will become hot. You may detect smoke or a burning smell when using the appliance for the first time, this is normal and not a sign that the appliance is out of order. Smoke will occur during cooking if the food touches the upper heaters.
