Your job is simple: Choose the right path for you in Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse.
Features
An Epic Storyline of Mankind: The Shin Megami Tensei series, known for exploring the tenuous symbiosis between man and deity, reaches deeper than ever, as the band of main characters must decide which side of peace or anarchy they are on.
Demons Aplenty: Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse has nearly 450 demons to fight, fuse, or recruit to player parties, with demons from a wide selection of cultures and religions.
Fuse for Affinities: Demon fusion, combining two or more demons to form a more powerful one, is one of the cornerstones of Shin Megami Tensei games.
Language: The game features English voice-overs and English text.
Press Turns and Smirking: the press turn system returns, which gives players (or enemies!) extra turns for exploiting weaknesses.

This game was difficult even on normal mode. If you just want to enjoy the gameplay and story, I recommend easy mode. For those seeking a challenge but are not familiar with Atlus RPG mechanics, normal mode is for you. Hard mode is insane. The enemies will target your weakness to the point where you would just pull your hair out.

If you love the other SMT games or SMTIV, you will love this title. Excellent story, characters, combat.. lots of stuff to do, great world design. Highly recommended to all SMT and JRPG fans!

I pre-ordered this game and it came with the 3 pins, look for the sticker on the wrapper.
My first SMT game was IV, so this game feels right at home. The changes that were made to this game (map navigation, support, and early and easy access to terminals to name a few) are welcome.
A few dislikes include:
-Unlocking additional MC and Demon Skill Expansion Apps are dependent on your level.
-MC character design
-Resistances and Weaknesses are standard. Null is pretty rare and I have yet to find Absorb. Point being that without null and absorb, I find demons less to worry about (which can be boring since there are less consequences).
One thing you'll notice is that the demon starting levels have switched from the previous. For example, Legion starts at a very low level. Heqet, Myrmecolion, Mokoi are higher.
Overall, it's a good game.

Refined SMT

It's a somewhat different story and a game mechanic refinement of the Shin Megami Tensei 4, but the same world. I'm not that far in, but it catches your attention and gets going much faster than SMT 4, it's got a few reused maps but that's expected. I've heard that the story may be shorter compared to SMT 4 and mostly just having one main pathway. It's not that much of an issue since I almost always choose "neutral" path in SMT and this looks like it's basically the start of the neutral choice. I just hope they take an idea or concept from this and explore it fully to make up for lack of choice.

If you've ever played a Shin Megami Tensei title before, you know what you're getting. Collect demons, fight stuff, kill god. Similar to SMT IV but offers a different perspective on the story. This game is actually good for newcomers to the series since because of plot reasons, dying doesn't result in a game over, making it easier to practice and learn the game.

This is a sequel to Shin Megami Tensei IV, so it's highly recommended you play that first, but the gameplay is good for both casual and hardcore fans and the story is cool like SMT always is, though it's more "anime" than some of the older games were. If you're looking for a good JRPG and you liked SMTIV, you'll love this.
