My wife and I loved this movie! We saw it in the theater and again on DVD, great both times. Our only complaint, and maybe it's just us, we couldn't tell a difference between the rated and the unrated. It must have been a very minor change. We've noticed this before in Unborn, The Haunting in Conn., and a couple others. It used to be that unrated cuts had additional scenes anywhere from 2 to 30 minutes. Now, they just add a 20 or 30 second flash of extra blood or something, and call it the unrated cut. Why didn't they just add it in the first place? Other than that, this was a great thrills and chills horror movie. Another great Japanese remake. I highly recommend it! Also, some other good Japanese remakes are The Eye, One Missed Call, and Pulse.

good story/reality check Coms poor HD quality This movie is a very good way to show how it does not pay to mistreat a woman, or physically hurt her and think that you will get a way with it. The Thoughts and memories of hurting a woman will hunt you to a mental insitution/ward or to your grave. It is a really good movie but it is not for children. However, the blue ray quality is very poor and it plays like a regular DVD. Do not pay $40 for this movie because it is not in High Definition HD. This is my second blue ray movie I have found that is not HD. Please rent and compare HD DVD and regular DVD and you will see the difference. Many blue ray movies are not in HD and movie companies are selling them as HD movies. “Rip off”

I loved the original, but the remake did not meet my expectations. It was too brightly lit, so it didn't have the ominous feel of the original. Also, I couldn't take Joshua Jackson seriously, he will always be Pacey to me.On the plus side, the story is a good one and there are still a few scares, worth purchasing...you will watch it more than once.

Enjoyed "Shutter" very much. As often the case with unrated editions, the additional scenes prove nice and by design fill in gaps that perhaps weren't addressed as fully in the theatrical/original. Fantastic compliment to other films inclusive of "The Ring" and "The Grudge".

Stay away from this one. It's not even worth the $4.99 bin. I actually felt that I was being tortured having to watch it. The plot went Nowhere, the acting was pathetic. It's another one of those dead Japanese girl comes back as a ghost movies. Been there, saw that!

This was a pretty good movie although it was kind of slow with not a whole lot of action. It had cool death scenes and was a pretty scary movie, even comparable to the ring. I would recommend it as it was a fairly good movie and it is pretty scary.

This movie is insane and has non-stop action. I have never seen any movie like it. It is hard to explain how creepy it is. I suggest watching it with the lights on.
