Season 1 was an introduction, Season 2 was the crescendo, Season 3 was the overture and Season 4 turned everything into a rondo.
While the wit and banter will keep you amused sprinkled with pseudo-modern business and tech lingo so you can walk away with a sense of elitism for either already knowing the lexicon or developing one from the series; you will be hard pressed to accept that chaos is the perpetual standard required for the show. Richard will become less and less palatable as the show progresses and truth be told, this is a romance of the synergy of Tech and Business categories of industry where we pine for a Richard/Gavin take-off where they both recognize each other on equal terms then build on each other's strengths. Right now though, we just go round in circles and sadly this season was a let down. Still worth a watch and obviously still part of the storyline but you will be left wanting. Not a good romance style want to see the ending. The irritated mid-sentence/mid-season cancellation type wanting where you are frustrated and feel abandoned.
Seek shelter. 3.5 out of 5 and I only recommend it to keep up with the storyline, not necessarily a subjective review of the content therein.
I loved the first three seasons of Silicon Valley. My best friend always attributed his love of the show to TJ Miller, whereas I think the more refined comedy in this series comes from some of the bit players and minor characters. Miller’s recent troubles left me feeling conflicted, but did not take away from my overall ability to enjoy this season. It may seem callous, but I can distinguish between an actor and his or her work, versus the details of their personal lives. And, as I said previously, this series functions well because of strong performances from all of its cast members. I can’t wait to see where Season 5 goes.
Silicon Valley is one of my favorite shows and I'm also amazed that it hasn't really turned down in quality in season 4. While there are some predictable up and down plot points the series has, it looks like it's setting up for a big change in season 5. I do wish the disc had more extras though.
I wrote about Season 3 being very well-written and a good season of Silicon Valley. Any ways if you heard about your friends talking about the "Not Hot Dog" app and are in the dark with regards to that, check out this particular fourth season of Silicon Valley.
I'm surprised that I'm still enjoying this series...but definitely is a good one for the modern age and times. The series is loosely based on some real world personalities in Silicon Valley. Yes, the situations these characters face do sometimes happen and the fact that they can be potrayed in such a way as this series has done makes it good entertainment.
