Great sound when it doesn't lose signal
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this radio to upgrade from my Starmate5 which had just plain died. I was/am very impressed with the clarity of sound as if I was playing a CD or MP3. Screen display has multiple color options which is nice as some show up better in brightness and are softer on the eyes in darkness. After several weeks I began to notice that every now and then the radio would lose signal for 1-3 seconds at a time. I checked everything and found no missed connections. I later noticed the the antenna connection to the dock is too small for the antenna plug and can become loose at anytime causing disruption in signal. This is slightly annoying but is the only negative thing about the radio.

Primary source for news and entertainment
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is my third sirius vehicle system I've purchased. The previous system lasted five years then I was told the dockable broke and needed a total replacement. Unlike previous two purchases, the new system does not come with a remote, but fortunately my old one still controls it. I like everything about the system except for the sirius customer relations - I pay once a year, but they hound you repeatedly for payment and don't seem to have a good monitoring of records in place, including previous conversations with other reps. The system occasionally has reception interrupted during foul weather, and the on-line listening has recently had no service for several days due to changes in Adobe which was frustrating. Despite this, I use sirius every day for news, sports, and entertainment while traveling and at work.

Good, but not as great as the old model
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendMy Sportster from 2005 had more features than this one. Going from 31 presets to only 10 was rough. Also, I miss the ability to save my 20 favorite songs (s-seek). Maybe I'm just missing these features, but I've read over the included "manuals" but found nothing. Other than that, this radio runs great in my car and was easy to install.

ONLY good, VERY good, with FM Booster
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendReception is and performance is great, if you have a "CLEAR" frequency. If you do a lot of driving out of a single area, it is almost useless UNLESS you couple it to an FM Booster. I am a professional chauffeur, and cover a lot of territory in my driving, which means I loose FM channels and run into new ones. -- The FM signal is not nearly powerful enough to override stations and you are constantly looking for new frequencies, which is a big hassle. However, if coupled to an FM booster, similar to a Craig FM Booster, it's absolutely great. However, note that the Craig booster sells for about $89, but now the system is fabulous.

Great Receiver
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendGot this last week as an early Christmas gift. I installed it myself in a big rig. It has 6 different color backlights which is great. Reception is good on my big truck but it excellent on a car. My truck has a couple of things obstructing its view of the sky. It has great sound quality. I would definately use the AUX jack for audio if you have it. Its still a little pricey but I'm sure it will come down, maybe even before the holidays. Overall its a very very good unit.

Great so far!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this as a replacement for one that was stolen. So far it seems to be working fine and is doing what is expected. It did not come with a remote control (I should have looked first, but I just assumed), and it doesn't seem to have a sensor to use one. Other than that, it's doing what we have expected.

Disappointing "upgrade"
Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendBought this as a replacement for my Stiletto SL10 that finally died. I wish I had other options as a similar replacement radio but I wasn't completely sold on the Lynx. I've used this unit for a whole 30 minutes and I am extremely disappointed. Out of the box, plastic bits rained out of the unit! I discovered that those pieces were from the AUDIO OUT input. Yes, broken before I opened the box. The jack still works but it is loose. Next on to the vehicle base. There is no remote or option to add. My Stiletto, while not the best ever, had a remote and if I needed to use it, it was there. The options to mount the unit are limited at best. Stiletto was mounted on my windshield but this Starmate is dangling from my vent. The base is wobbly and cable routing is a chore to make it look somewhat presentable. The unit is sleek and has a large display which is great but changing stations is slightly frustrating to say the least. The preset buttons are stiff (may loosen over time) and the directional buttons require more attention than driving which is dangerous. Presets are limited to only 10 (compared to 30 on my trusty Stiletto) and there are no options to favorite songs or artists. Recording? None. Saving music--nope. Any options that make this device worth $109--can't see any. I've had this device installed for 12 hours and I'm really unhappy with this purchase. I would have gone for other options but they are extremely limited. I have been a Sirius subscriber since 2003 and have units installed in my home theater, second car, streaming on my PC and Android phone. Customer service is poorly trained and not very attentive. Not Best Buy's fault but changing radios is more than a hassle which might be the only reason I don't return this. Either way, I can't recommend this radio.
