One sick pair of headphones!
Posted .I bought these two days ago on an impulse, after listening to the demo pair. Wow! I was blown away. I had originally opted for a pair of Sony Extra Bass headphones, but needless to say, these took the cake. The bass in these cans literally makes your cheeks tingle. The sound quality is good, bordering on great. The only reason I gave four out of five stars in this category, is that these headphones are sensitive to specific genres of music. It seems I have to set my equalizer (Using an ancient Ipod Nano 3rd Gen) to a different setting for rock, rap and hip-hop, pop, etc. But where these headphones really shine is for rap and hip-hop. After just a minute of messing with the equalizer and bass volume (on the cord) I heard tones in old favorites that I hadn't before with any pair of headphones, and I go through three or four pairs per year. The sub woofers really allow for an immersive audio experience, your music will become much more intense! They could be a little clearer, but for this price, they're a bargain. And, like any pair of headphones, the bass can get muddy if you're listening to a bass-heavy song with the sub woofers cued to maximum. But adjusting the volume and equalizer on your mp3 player will give you awesome results. These headphones also get a 4 in comfort, they're soft on your ears and reasonably tight. I have a large head, but they stay put while working and my ears don't get sweaty or hot as others have reported. (And I wore them on an eight hour work shift) But I give them four out of five only because if you don't watch your bass volume, they can give you a headache after an hour or so of listening. This might have been avoidable with smaller drivers or a more recessed sub woofer system, but it's really a minor issue, as you have to set these things a-rocking to make your head hurt. No report on battery life yet. The supplied battery that came with the headphones has seemed to last long enough so far. As I said, I wore them while working an eight-hour shift, with the bass at 50-75% volume. And that was after I spent five or six hours just playing with them outside of the box. A nice feature about these cans is that they also sound reasonably good without the bass system. I take these to work with me, so it's important that if my battery does die, I can still listen to music. The bass is still rich and the tonal range is good, although anything with a heavy bass line and extremely loud volume will come through muddy or crackling. But here again, these headphones are meant to deliver bass through a sub woofer system. All-in-all, it was a good investment. I paid about $75 for my pair, though they were cheaper online. They're comfortable, the bass is rocking in the most rocking way, and the sound quality is great if you just play around with equalizer settings for a bit. They seem quite durable. I don't feel cautious about wearing them for everyday use. The cord is thick and doesn't look like it will break easily. This is a big issue with me, since nearly every pair of headphones I've owned have been thrown away due to a broken or loose cord. If you like your music, and you don't mind spending a little extra money, these headphones will deliver. They'll suck you in and make your head rock!

Awesome for the price.
Posted .I use these headphones on a daily basis. I use them on my laptop, phone and ipod for music and even with my PS3 when I play Call of Duty after everyone's asleep. The sound quality and clarity is far above everything else in this price range. I listen to a wide range of music from punk to metal to rap to techno, and have never been disappointed. The only thing that occasionally is a letdown is that sometimes the bass will overwhelm the music. Fortunately, the bass is completely adjustable. I consider myself quite the audio enthusiast and I highly recommend these as a great pair of headphones. If you want better quality, go for the Klipsch Ones.

Great Headphones!
Posted .I've had the Skullcrusher's for a couple of month's now and havent found much to complain. I was told to buy these headphones buy many of my friend's and knew that it would be a great buy. After I had bought the headphone's I was excited but, as I used them I noticed that the bass is only vibration. I became dissapointed in a way and really wish that I could've gotten somthing with "actual" bass. I still use my Skullcrusher's constantly to this day and have'nt had any breaking problems at all.

overall great preformer, but not without flaws
Posted .Ok first i have to say how good these are for travel, they fold up to just about 6 inches by 2 inches, could fit in most anything. Now past that the sound is great, overall great sound quality, but it depends on how powerful you make the bass. These come with a bass amplifier subwoofer which can strengthen or weaken the bass. Now if you put the bass on to about 50% or less you should be fine, but above that and you will have problems. you will see that it distorts the sound of everything, not only the bass. The comfort of these is amazing, they go completly over the ear which will cause no pain over long periods of time. Now durability is a slight problem due to it bieng all plastic, dont worry about the cord since it goes to both drivers, but do be careful with the band since it can break with enough stretch or use. A few things that kinda make me mad is the size of the subwoofer, i mean its huge and people can notice it no matter where you put it. Another is the bass makes the headphones vibrate, making it annoying to listen to it, but this only happens with 50% or more bass. Otherwise these are amazing headphones for on the go people, just dont put to much strain on the band.(this comes with a carrying case so dont worry about that)

Lots of bass no rattle
Posted .I bought these and yes the structure is kinda cheesy since it is mostly plastic but that is what black tie is for. I read a bunch of reviews that is is mostly rattle and not bass. NOT TRUE!!! I really enjoy the ear rattling feeling you get with these. It sounds a lot like the two 12 inch kicker comps i have in my car except on my head, and not quite as loud but same concept. I would buy these for my friends or family. I tried them on the display and they were exactly the same as when i left the store. CHECK THEM OUT!!!!!!

Good Headphones
Posted .i have had these headphones for almost a year now. i dont see why a lot of people dont like them. they sound great to me. the only reason my very first pair broke was because i dropped them a lot. i like the design. it felt a little weird when i first put them on but i got used to it pretty fast. sometimes when i put them on it feels and sounds like one side is pushed up closer to my head. with a little adjusting that can be fixed. Other than me dropping them a lot i have had no problems.

nice headphones for the price :) - in depth review
Posted .When these arrived at my door, I was very eager to try them out. They are very lightweight and have very comfortable earpads. I'm still a teenager, so I didn't think I would need to extend the headphones all the way out. Guess my head was bigger than I thought, b/c I ended up having to do just that. I put them on and looked at myself in the mirror. WARNING: if you care about how you look in public, I wouldn't recommend getting these. The ends of the headphones (where you extend the earcups out) stick out a good 2 inches off of your head, which I think is made like that just to accomidate the fact that it folds away from the middle (you'll see what I mean if you decide to buy them). Anyway, I plug them up to my iPod and listen to "Champion" by Kanye West. Even with the bass turned all the way up, I wasn't satisfied with the sound quality as well as the bass response. But, I keep listening. Next song, "Californication" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now it sounds crystal. The audio is clear while you can distinctively hear the bass (which doesn't distort the treble/high end). After that, I put on "The Sun" by Maroon 5. Now THIS is how I expected these babies to sound like. Super crisp sound quality throughout, with distinct instrumentals and vocals. They even cancelled out the noise of my microwave a little bit, too. The in-line bass control really came in handy when listening to "Handlebars" by Flobots, since the bass is super rich. My Panic At The Disco songs also sounded superb in these headphones. The majority of my rap sounded very good as well, like most of my Lil Wayne, Jaylib, and Skyzoo. So, a must buy for hip hop/rap listeners and some alternative rock listeners too but ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE BASS TURNED ON. If you flick the switch off while listening to ANY song, it kinda sounds pretty terrible. I don't know why, maybe it's my headphones, maybe because I'm an audio nerd, but don't let that from discouraging you to pick these up. I was originally planning to buy the Bose Around Ear Triports, but seeing that they were double the price, I stuck with these. The Bose sounded better, though. So if you have no budget, go for the Triports. If you're looking to spend under $100 like me, these should be a safe bet. Thumbs up to Skullcandy for making a pair of headphones that I greatly enjoy.

Great head set for the money!
Posted .The head sets are really nice. You are not going to get a better sound then this with out paying twice the price or more. Tuning the bass is very dependent on the device you have it hooked up to. I have noticed overall that the iPod (wife's) sucks with it because face it ipods are a extremely small underpowered MP3 device. However when hooked up to my Zune it sound great! I have also used it with my PS3 system to play MAG. Very impressive headset for gaming! I can hear things with the set that I never did before and when popping off round and things explode the head set subs really do their job! People who complain about battery life are crazy. If you buy a powered subwoofer system then obviously it not going to sip the juice. What also helps is that you buy name brand batteries like the coppertops. I have been on the same battery for 4 days now. Those who complain that they get horrid sound when the sub is off is also a "here's your sign" moment. You buy a sub head set because you want the subwoofer. I am quite happy with it and more so since I price matched it to the Skull Candy website!
