    Synopsis

    Slither
A mysterious meteor infected with a deadly alien plague brings chaos to a small hunting town in the feature-length directorial debut of screenwriter James Gunn (Scooby-Doo, Dawn of the Dead). Booted out of bed by his young, trophy-wife Starla (Elizabeth Banks), and in desperate need of some female companionship, wealthy Grant Grant (Michael Rooker) picks up bar local floozy Brenda (Brenda James) and heads into the woods for a hedonistic night of extramarital excitement. When a flaming meteor lights up the sky before crashing to the ground nearby, Grant's curiosity gets the best of him and he sets out to find the space rock. Subsequently infected with a rampaging space virus, which he passes along to Brenda, Grant transforms into a horrific, cow-munching monster and begins terrorizing the town. As thousands of squirmy space slugs burrow into the brains of the unsuspecting Wheelsy denizens creating an ever-amassing horde of mindless space zombies, panic grips the small town and it's up to Starla, Sheriff Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion), and gung-ho mayor Jack MacReady (Gregg Henry) to put an end to the infection and save the planet. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Saw this at the theater back int he day and have it still on HD-DVD. Finally comes out on Blu courtesy of Scream Factory. It's a Collector's edition so it's loaded to the gills with extras. Picture-wise, this is as good as it's ever looked. One of James Gunn's earliest films and rather comical at times. Not the darkest humor, but getting there. Definitely worth checking out!

This movie is hilarious! My wife and I loved it, we laughed through the whole movie! If you're a fan of horror comedies like Shaun of the Dead, Feast or Critters, you're going to love this. Obviously the plot's cheesy, but then again, it's suppose to be. That's what makes a horror comedy. Lots of of gore, a few jumpy scenes, and a lot of laughs. This movie was a lot of fun, I highly recommend it! And, if you like this, I also recommend Jack Brooks Monster Slayer, great movie.

You are either a fan of James Gunn's "Slither"...or you are not. If you adore this movie, the Shout! Factory Special Edition Blu-ray is worth the purchase. The video is crisp and clear (especially compared to other films from this time period). The extras include commentary, deleted scenes, gag reel, features, and a new interview with Gunn.

James Gunn, director of the Guardians of the Galaxy films, knocked his first feature out the park with this one. It is as funny as it is scary, and pays homage to great 80s horror films like Night of the Creeps, The Thing, and even Predator. Scream Factory did a great job with this release!

Truthfully, I thought it was more of a comedy than a horror. It wasn't that scary but it still was a good movie. It was kind of like the dawn of the dead meets alien. It was intriguing to see but lacking that horricficly gruesome action i like to see in horror movies. I'm a hard core horror movie loving person though. It was still good but I wanted it to be more brutal.

This movie is all around in my opinion a pretty decent horror movie with its gore and funny comic relief parts! It has a pretty strong cast as well as a decent storyline to keep you interested in it. I definitely recommend this one if you are into somewhat comical horror movies.

I saw this movie when it first came out and hated it but after watching it again and having a love for cheesy 70's and 80's horror movies, I like this movie. If you're into the pre 90's cheese I have no doubt that you will at the very least find this movie enjoyable.

My friend Jamed Gunn directed this movie prior to the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. This cast is in top form and the movie overall is a really great cult thriller. There's even a quick cameo from Jenna Fischer (Pam from NBCs The Office.)
