In March 2015, Eric Clapton turned 70. Two months later, he set up camp at London's Royal Albert Hall for a series of seven shows, 50 years after his first performance at the legendary venue with the Yardbirds. Clapton has gone through various phases in his career, and thankfully "SLOWHAND AT 70" doesn't attempt to pull them all together. Instead they provide a snapshot of the guitar legend in his element, onstage and enjoying himself, celebrating his own musical legacy as well as those who've inspired him. The music his outstanding, blending his own landmark tunes, combined with a couple of Joe Cocker classics, the slick but somewhat sterile version of Steve Windwood's "Can't Find My Way Home" (from the one Blind Faith album the pair made together. But making sure he didn't skip any of the hits you'd expect. The quality of the Blu Ray has never been better. Worth every penny and a definitive must have for any Eric Clapton fan.

As the title states, if you're a Clapton fan, then you will enjoy this. This particular packaging has the double CD live album with the Blu ray concert which is nice because separately they are more expensive. Great sound, mix & song selection for this point in Clapton's career. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that whoever put the concert video together must have thought it would be fun to give the viewers a seizure! The video is all over the place, to the point where it takes away from watching it a little I feel. But that's just me, others may not have an issue with it. Regardless, worth the money for any Clapton fan.

I saw this concert on a PBS Special last year and decided to buy it. The full concert version is much better and longer even than what I saw on PBS. The sound and visual quality to the Blu Ray is fantastic and the band sounds amazing. Clapton doesn't perform very much anymore but when he does, the shows are incredible because he recruits the worlds best musicians and backup singers to perform with him. If you are a Clapton fan, you will definitely enjoy this concert film and the CD's that accompany the movie.

Excellent recording quality--variety of songs shows how Mr. Clapton has evolved over the years--he keeps re-inventing himself, and continues to add new musical styles to his resume'. (if that's possible) His list of supporting characters includes the most elite musicians, proving that everyone wants to be associated with him because he is in a class by himself.

Eric Clapton plays classic covers and his own compositions masterfully at one of the most prestigious venues on the planet. The sound mix is exquisite as is the camera work. Combined with the ultra- crisp clarity of the high definition Blue-Ray format, this recording is as close to being in the best seat in the house as is possible.

Eric Clapton is one of the most iconic Blues players of all time. He has played with all the greats and is equally great himself. This is hopefully not his last time playing for audiences, as he has said he wanted to retire at 70. I hope I get the chance to see him play again after watching this amazing birthday concert!

    Not the best

I was going to buy Forever Man, but I saw this and I figured I'd give this one a shot. Knowing Eric is talking about touring any longer, this very might be the last one available. After giving this a listen, I'd hope not. The timing is off, vocals aren't the best... I'm not pleased.

Even after all these years, Eric Clapton can still play guitar like nobody else. What a great show to show he is still the best even at 70! For any fans of Eric Clapton, I highly recommend this Blu Ray. If you are a first time Eric Clapton fan, what took you so long?
