Great product overall-- I'd buy again. My father can use it himself since it's simply designed and well labeled, though he complains that there is no volume control. He really enjoys it! The preloaded big band music is not for his generation-- I loaded his own Rock 'n Roll and deleted the preloaded. It's not a great speaker, l but it's good enough. One major downside is that I'm not sure the volume adjusts on my unit-- I followed the instructions and haven't yet made it change. But the volume is ok as is.

This is a great music player for someone with dementia. Easy to turn on and off, and you can load with their favorite music. My mom does not like instrumental music (it’s preloaded with big band tunes), so I deleted them and uploaded songs from her favorite cds. Note if you’re uploading from an Apple product you need to convert mp4 files to mp3, and if you want to delete the preloaded music you need to empty the trash on your Mac after dragging the files to the trash and before disconnecting the music player. I had to search for these tips because they aren’t included with the instructions.

We bought at this for my mother who had already been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and then had a stroke on top of that. We added classical music, as that is calming for her. It’s simple to use, and the staff at her nursing home think it’s wonderful. I like that there’s a trick to changing the volume, otherwise we’d constantly be resetting it.
