Synopsis

Discover the beautiful Italian peninsula through a scope in Sniper Elite 4. Karl Fairburne is a covert agent whose job is simple: aid the Italian resistance, and defeat fascism, but a new threat arises that could prove deadly to the Allied war effort. Huge worlds, outstanding ballistics and diverse environments form the soul of Sniper Elite 4.

Features

Sniper Elite 4 combines genre-defining ballistics, breathless emergent stealth, and gripping third person action across the largest and most diverse environments ever seen in a Sniper Elite game.

If Karl Fairburne mission fails, there will be no Operation Overlord, no D-Day landings, and no Victory in Europe.

True Next-Generation Sniping

Running in native 1080p on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Sniper Elite 4 is the first game in the series built from the ground-up for next generation hardware.

Sniper Elite 4 aims to deliver the definitive World War Two shooter for a generation, with unrivalled sniping freedom across maps many times the size of those seen in Sniper Elite 3.

With an expansive campaign for 1-2 players and dedicated co-op and adversarial multiplayer modes.

    I Can't Stop Playing It

I've threw my original copy away due to frustrations with the writing of the video game, but when I tossed my X-Box 360, my favorite video game, Elite Sniper 2;went with it. So, I missed playing an Elite Sniper game and went back to Elite Sniper 4. It can prove annoying, especially when this yahoo fires off a flare, calling in an artillery mission to my position. When you don't follow the path of the game as they wrote it, they punish you by killing off your character. If you don't get up and run to a new place, you'll have your own Elite Sniper "Ground Hog Day." You'll get killed again and again. However, that's the challenge of this game. I work to overcome their writing of it. They want your character to snoop around undetected, but that's not in this ole Marine's make up. We take the fight to the enemy and my character gets killed time and again for this approach to the game. However, in the end, I always prevail. What is most annoying in this game is the time it takes the character to reload his weapon, while in the middle of a firefight. If I took this much time in Nam, I wouldn't be writing this review. It's totally annoying. I've watched the credits at the end of the game many times and have NEVER read any input from a military tactician. It gives me the impression that the Brit who created this game never saw action on any battle field. None the less, I still can't stop playing this game.

    Play It On Hard

The standard difficulty is great for getting your feet wet but the missions get a little same-y at or around the third deployment. Once you unlock the silenced riffle ammo, fuggetaboutit. Once you get the hang of sniping, I recommend going up a difficulty so that factors like wind and muzzle velocity actually change. The story is also non-existent. There is a story, but when the big "twist" happened at the end, I was completely lost. The x-ray shots can be hysterical but get old over time. All in all, I got about 1 hour of playtime per $1 spent and had a blast in the sneaky sandbox.

If you're looking for a WWII Stealth/Sniper game, this is the one, graphics are great, the shooting is fun but takes some practice, once you get used to it its a blast. The slo mo/x-ray vision fatal shot mechanic is cool and provides more incentive to hit your enemies in certain parts of the body for more points. Story is average but the multiplayer can provide some longevity if you play with friends. There could be more gamemodes though for sure.

Good continuation of the series. Game is what you expect for $30 or less. It ends up being about $1 per hour of game play. This will not win game of the year, but is fun to play. I did not play online so I can not comment on that. Story line is fun and consistent with other Sniper Elite games. I recommend this game for $30 or less.

Have the previous version of this game. So went straight to hardcore level. For my surprise the graphics are way better. The view and difficulties . Its a game to spend good free time on it. It is very addicting and it is worth the money. Will keep buying next level and new versions. Overall good investment on yourself.

Just like all the Sniper Elites I picked this one up on sale for $15. Great game that offers a nice break from my usual backlog of games. Best sniper game around. Would recommend if your looking to try something with a stalker/prey style gameplay. Oh and watching the bullets effect on the target through the x-ray cam is so satisfying.

I loved the earlier game in this series and so far. The only thing ypu should know is it is a very methodical game that takes time to maintain stealth. Every once in a while and can get annoying how slow you have to go but that's also part of the challenge.

Few things as satisfying as a slow mo, xray footage of bad guy junk getting eviscerated. The game is one giant, but aproachable, sand box. My only gripes are the lack of weapons and the slow start. But not enough to take away from the high score.
