SOL REPUBLIC - PUNK Indoor/Outdoor Wireless Bluetooth Speaker - Black

The Sol Republic Punk is a Great little speaker for it's size. The only problem is the battery life. They say you get up to 8 hours of battery but I think that is for the AUX plug in because when I use my bluetooth the battery is cut in half to 4 hours. Again, great speaker but battery needs some work.

I first bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister. I liked them so much I bought one for myself. When they first came out Best Buy had them at $49.99+Tax and it was a steal. This speakers are great. Pros: Very compact size, amazing sound, excelente mid and high ranges. It has more than a decent bass for it's size. a huge plus is you can plug them in through AUX cable. Or you can even hook up another set of speakers through the built in OUTPUT and basically make any non-bluetooth set of speakers Bluetooth. They are also very sturdy dropped it a few times from about 2 feet and it works just fine. CONS: Battery life is not really good. In fact when I purchased it I got around 6 hours of steady sound at mid-volume. But as soon as the second charge cycle came. After about 2 hours of use you can hear the annoying "50% battery left " message. So I would say battery lasts about half the time of what they advertise it. Another con is; if you use the AUX input instead of a Bluetooth device to play your music, it actually sounds a lot lower for some reason. It won't be as loud. Overall I would recommend them as long as you can get then for a fair price. I WOULD NOT spend 69.99 on this. I'd rather put another $20 and get other rugged portable sound systems on the market that are out of this price bracket.

For a small speaker, this has decent volume. Overall, I am happy with the audio quality in terms of clarity and loudness. I mostly use it for listening to sports talk radio. It's a step up from an iPhone or iPad speaker in sound quality, but it won't compare with a stereo speaker system. Sometimes, I have issues with the initial bluetooth connection. It sometimes requires forgetting the device on my iPhone in the bluetooth settings and then re -pairing.

Love it, second one I bought! Great Bluetooth speaker, super easy pairing with every device I own, moron proof controls, weather and shock resistant. Only thing missing is a microphone if you wanted to use it as a speakerphone. I don't care about that, these little speakers rock! Good bass, mids are excellent! Will fill a large room.

Great speaker for everyday use. Take to the beach, by the pool, etc. Good sound quality and easy to use.

Excellent sound from a such a small package. Bass is still noticeable and love that it is dust, water and shock proof since I work in a environment with these cautions. Only thing for me would be that the battery does drain quick

Sound quality good but lacks in bass. Battery life comes up short and warning for battery half full happens within about 10 min after first unplugging with full charge. With volume at around 3/4 was able to get about 1 hr 10 min before recharge necessary. Volume range is good for its size. Reception range is excellent. Easy to pair with iPhone.

The goods: more volume and clearer bass than Altec Lansing or two other brand name bluetooth speakers I've used. I thought my idea for sound in the car would require a $125 speaker, but the Sol Punk works great for $50! The bads: shorter battery life than any of the other bluetooth devices I've used, however, this may be due to my use of higher volumes. Oh, for techies on the lookout for devices, this one is special in that it controls your iPhone or device volume, and vice-versa. Therefore, there are not two variable volume controls, but 1.
