Effortlessly enrich your entertainment experience with the latest generation of Beam, now with Dolby Atmos. Enjoy panoramic sound for shows, movies and games when the TV is on, and stream music radio and more when it's off.
Q: What is the difference between this Beam and the 1st generation Beam? Other than price...
A: The price is technically the same as the first generation. Sonos raised the prices on all of their products last week...so the new price for this Beam reflects that. This Beam has a more powerful processor vs. the original and can play sound in Dolby Atmos. The original Beam does not.
A: It really helped me. I’m 71 years old and have worn hearing aids for over 15 years. I can now understand dialogue much more clearly at a volume that doesn’t drive my wife out of the room. Background music that plays during so many TV shows is also less of a problem.
A: Thank you for your question. The Beam does us HDMI to plug into the tv. It can plug into standard ARC or eARC. To get the most out of your home theater experience with Beam, you'll want to make sure to plug your Beam into ARC or eARC and switch the other components to other HDMI ports. You can plug into optical and still great great sound however, optical doesn't support Dolby Atmos.
Q: Can I connect other Sonos speakers to this Beam
A: Yes! I got it for this reason!
A: Thank you for the question. The cable that comes in the box will provide the Beam Gen 2 with speed needed to provide Dolby Atmos from a TV to the speaker.
Q: Can I connect to the Beam via home wifi?
A: Yes you can, you need the app but once it's set up, it's set it and forget it.
A: Unfortunately there isn't.

The Bose TV Speaker is a small soundbar that clarifies speech and improves overall TV sound. Inside there are two full-range drivers angled to deliver wide, spatial sound, while the center tweeter specifically focuses on clarifying speech. And built-in Dolby decoding enhances the audio capabilities of your TV Speaker to deliver a more realistic and satisfying listening experience. Designed with simplicity in mind, a single connection to your TV has you up and running in no time. This connection can be either an optical audio cable (included) or an HDMI cable (sold separately). At just over 2″ (5 cm) tall, this TV Speaker is small enough to fit just about anywhere. Place it in front of your TV or mount it to the wall. Plus small LED lights on the front turn on and/or change color when certain features are enabled or when the volume is adjusted. The Bose TV Speaker also has HDMI-CEC, which allows the TV and soundbar to communicate when connected by an HDMI cable. So when you turn the TV on, the soundbar will automatically turn on too, and you can even continue using your current TV remote to control the volume of the soundbar. However, the Bose TV Speaker also has its own remote. On it, you can pair your Bluetooth device to wirelessly stream your favorite music or podcasts, enable Dialogue Mode to further elevate center vocals, or add a bass boost for some extra depth. And the Bose TV Speaker is Roku TV Ready certified. Meaning, it’s designed to work seamlessly with a Roku TV. When connected to a Roku TV via an HDMI cable, you’ll enjoy smooth, automatic setup, easy access to the TV Speaker sound settings in the Roku TV on-screen menu, and compatibility with the Roku TV remote. If you’re looking for even more bass or just want to expand your system, you can add a subwoofer for more theater-quality home theater sound. The Bose TV Speaker requires a wired connection and is compatible with the Bose Bass Module 500 or 700 (Bose Bass Module Connection Cable sold separately).

This is a compact soundbar that delivers big sound for its size. It fits nicely under most TVs and looks sleek. The audio quality impresses, with clear dialogue and decent bass for both movies and music. Setup is generally easy - just plug it in and follow the app instructions. It works with Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control, which is handy. The Dolby Atmos feature adds depth to movies, making them more immersive. Music playback is good, and you can stream easily from your devices. It also plays well with other Sonos speakers if you want to expand your system. However, there have been issues with the mobile app wich can be frustrating when you're trying to adjust settings or play music. The price is on the higher side for a soundbar, and you might want to add a subwoofer for better bass, which costs extra. The Sonos Beam (Gen 2) offers great sound in a small package, but the app troubles and high price might make you think twice. It's best for those who prioritize audio quality and don't mind occasional tech hiccups.

I bought the Sonos Arc for my bedroom and living room but wanted something smaller for my guest bedroom so I bought the original Beam. It was great but it was missing one feature…Dolby Atmos. The Beam 2 has added Dolby Atmos and improved the vocal audio so now it’s the perfect and best small soundbar. I’ve owned the top of the line soundbars by Samsung, Sony, and LG and they all sounded good for movies but sounded bad for music. None of those brands sells a subwoofer that can hit the low end bass like Sonos. I do have to issue a disclaimer for the Beam 2 and every soundbar available. The Dolby Atmos effect works best with upfiring speakers in a room with low ceilings but it’s limited. If you want the full Dolby Atmos effect you need rear speakers so you create a sound bubble and then you have sound coming in all directions…only then can you tell sound is being placed left, right, high, or low. I purchased the Beam 2, subwoofer, and 2 Sonos Ones so I get the full surround sound experience and it’s great and worth the money. Not only do movies and music sound great but the Beam 2 is great for gaming. When it comes to negatives…I will say it does get expensive to build out the system and the Beam 2 works way better with a sub, rear speakers, or both.

The Sonos Beam Gen 2 is a compact yet powerful soundbar that delivers an impressive audio experience. Equipped with Dolby Atmos support, it enhances movie nights with immersive surround sound. The soundstage is clear, detailed, and surprisingly expansive for its size, making it ideal for smaller spaces or secondary setups. Its sleek design blends seamlessly with modern decor, and setup is simple via the Sonos app. Voice control through Alexa or Google Assistant adds convenience, and its integration with the Sonos ecosystem ensures a smooth multi-room audio experience. While it lacks HDMI inputs and might not satisfy audiophiles seeking ultra-deep bass, its performance and feature set make it a great value for the price. Perfect for those looking for a versatile, high-quality soundbar in a compact package.
