Awesome Platform, Easy to Use, Sounds Great
||Posted .I have two Sonos Connect Amps and one Sonos Connect that is used in conjunction with a Pyle Amp to drive 14 speakers and a subwoofer in total (including 5 around my pool). The ease of set-up/use and quality is just awesome- grouping different rooms, various music sources (Sirius XM & Spotify) all while controlling everything from my iPhone. I love it and am just looking for excuses to buy another Play1 speaker! ...love Sonos!

Compact and powerful with lots of options
||Posted .A few years ago we had speakers installed in the ceiling of most of the rooms in our home as well as outside in the sitting area. Long story short we stopped dealing with the installation company and never finished the project. We went into BestBuy to see what our options were and they recommended Sonos. The configuration they proposed seemed pricey and I just didn't understand why. After it was explained to us that we could the installation in pieces we went ahead with what we called the first installation. Oh my!!!! Why did we wait so long. It is so cool. My first surprise was all the freebies you get from Sonos such as access to many many radio stations. They are nicely grouped by genre. I was also able to play all the music I had purchased in MP3 format over the years as well. The second surprise was being able to run it from almost any smart device. There was no problem running it from multiple devices. I has the technician install Sonos on my laptop and told him I would install it on my other devices. I was able to install it on my Samsung Galaxy 3 phone, the new Samsung Galaxy 4 phone, my Nook tablet and the Samsung Tablet 3.0. We got two controllers and figured out on our own that you could group and quickly ungroup controllers. We opted to have two rooms on one controller and another controller control another room for a total of 3 rooms able to produce sound. This is so we could do indpendent listening but if you were having a party you could group all the controllers and they would play the same music without having to try and individually set each controller. We plan too add more but we can do that in a time frame that works for us. My only negative comment is that it seems from time to time a device can lose it's connection to the controllers. Sometimes you just need to reboot such as a phone and other times you have to just reconnect it which is literally pusing two buttons on the front of the controller. Not sure why it does this but it doesn't bother me. I like things that are easy, straight forward and make my life better.

Q: Questiondoes the amp need to be hard wired to the internetDoes the system need to be hard wired through the ethernet cable?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I am running my ConnectAmp without hard wiring (other than cables to my two speakers) and have no problems. It connects wirelessly to a $50 SONOS Bridge unit that sits next to our existing home router in a different room. The Bridge is connected to our router by a short Ethernet cable. Supposedly we can even operate without the Bridge, just connecting to a home wireless router, but I have heard that the Bridge helps maintain a strong wireless connection and is less affected by other wireless activity your router might be doing. I decided that the $50 was good insurance.

Q: QuestionI have 3 different rooms, with speakers 3 pairs. 6 speakers in total. Can I connect all the speakers. Will the sonos be able to support 6 speakers all playing the same time, same music.
Asked by BDB.
- A:Answer You can't drive more then two sets of speakers off this (assuming speakers are 8 ohm). If you want to drive a lot of speakers, you either get Sonos Amp per set of speakers (or room) and run them as group (giving you same music, same time in all rooms), or get the Sonos Connect, and a amplifier that can drive a lot of speakers all at once. The only issue with Sonos Connect driving a lot of speakers at once is, the volume control won't work the best in the Sonos app. It'll change volume of all the speakers at once. If you have a Sonos connect or amp set up per room, you'll find volume control is easier.

Q: QuestionDoes it work with Virtually Invisible® 791 in-ceiling speakers II ? Do I need anything esle to install them in together ?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, that is what we have. The Sonos Amp controls our in-ceiling speakers throughout the house. The speakers we had professionally installed, there are 6 rooms that have a pair of speakers and we connected 4 wires to the sonos amp. The set up is simple with the app. Hope this answered your question. Thank you!

Asked by Kampee.
- A:Answer Yes you can. Just get the speaker and complete the setup. You can pair everything so they are playing the same thing or you can play something different. I have the PlAY:1 which sounds great.
