Beam and One Speakers - All Done and Great Sound!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of the Sonos - One (Gen 2) speakers to couple with the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) I have for my Samsung TV. I have a small 400 sq ft apartment so placement of all the elements was not ideal, but I am very happy with the overall sound quality. I like the idea that I can have the sound bar only playing at times for the TV and group in the two additional One speakers for movies, music and better cable sound programing. I also like the ease of "airplay" from my computer, iPhone and thru the TV itself. I've gotten used to using my cell phone as my "remote" for Sonos and I see the value of that now. I can still use my Roku, TV and BluRay remote independently as needed. I did have to contact Sonos Technical Support for help and they were amazing, Solved my issues and "schooled" me on some aspects of combining the One speakers to the Beam that really helped me understand the system. And a big warm thank you to the floor attendants in the TV/Sound dept of the Union Sq Best Buy store here in NYC for their exceptional knowledge, patience and time spent for all my questions on my multiple visits :D

Great sound, easy to use!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been interested in investing in a smart whole home audio system and was recommended by a friend towards Sonos. I cant tell you how impressed I am with these speakers! I purchased two Sonos Ones as I have heard them in stereo pair and they sound great. I have this pair currently in my office and use them to jam out during work. After using the TruePlay tuning (a must in my opinion) it took the sound to a new level! The mid range was toned down just a touch and the high range was enhanced so you can hear every bit of the music as it was intended by the artists Setup of the products was very easy and with just the touch of a button, they were in stereo pair. If you are looking for an easy, smart, whole home audio system I highly recommend starting with these speakers

Added to our Sonos Beam
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought these two speakers to complement our Sonos beam (purchased about a year prior) and get some surround sound in our tv room. Since we have one big room that is our kitchen/dining/living room, we didn’t have a surface to place these speakers. So, we also purchased the outlet cover / pedestals for our speakers. I use the Sonos app (iOS) to add the speakers to our beam and treated it like one connected system. There were some hiccups with the update timing out a couple of times and it took me about 45 mins for all the updates and connections to take. I was not able to find any real good step by step instructions on the Sonos site to do what I wanted, but there were a couple of YouTube videos that I used for reference. As far as a stand-alone speaker I would say this speaker has better sound and bass than our google home mini and my Bose portable speaker (Revolve). We also enjoyed using the system with our Spotify account when we are not watching tv. Having Alexa is also a nice addition. The top of the speaker has nice touch areas to change volume without having your phone. Overall, I wish we had added these speakers sooner as it really changed the dynamics of our tv experience! The bass is the biggest impact that we’ve experienced and we haven’t added the sub yet. I have added the levels that my children say are the best mix because if you have the surrounds too high it will drown out the dialogue coming from the Beam. Hope this helps you if you’re on the fence to adding this speaker to your system or buying it as a stand alone. Note: I only took off a point for the ease of setup rather than the ease of use.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband bought this for me for Christmas, and wow what a great gift. I love love this new speaker. It sounds amazing and Alexa is fun to use. It’s small, but packs a great sounds. I love being able to tell Alexa to turn on music and turn off the music. I can’t wait to add more to it. I only gave it four stars because it’s confusing to set up and doesn’t come with a lot of directions, plus I severely broke a nail trying to unplug the power from the base. I had to find the user info online, but that still wasn’t easy. However, once I figured out what I was doing it was easy. I highly recommend this product.

Great sound, especially if you pair them as stereo
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was thinking about buying Sonos play5, but finally decided to buy a pair of Sonos one speakers and I’m really pleased with the sound quality in my living room. Just make sure you buy a set of 2, pair them and you will have a really nice experience. I would not recommend a single speaker for bigger rooms, but for a small bedroom it will also be a good fit.

Q: QuestionThis might seem a silly question, but is this speaker stereo or mono?
Asked by KimB.
- A:Answer Not silly at all. The speaker is mono, but when paired with a second one it can become a stereo set.
Answered by Sonos Customer Care
Q: QuestionDoes the speaker need to be physically plugged in while in use or does it have a rechargeable battery on board?
Asked by JW.
- A:Answer This device does require to be plugged into a power outlet as it does not have any type of onboard battery. The cord is pretty lengthy, about 10' which is pretty nice.

Q: QuestionCan two separate phones have the Sonos app and connect at different times?
Asked by Sklimas.
- A:Answer Hi, and thank you for you question. Yes, you can have as many "Sonos controllers" as you'd like on your system with control at the same time, or different times.
Answered by Sonos Customer Care
Q: QuestionHow many of these speakers can I pair together? I want to do a whole house system and wondering if it is limited to just pairing 2 speakers or if I can pair 3 or 4.
Asked by Emaugie.
- A:Answer You can add up to 32 Sonos devices in a home.

Q: QuestionWe have the earlier SONOS (Play Ones, Threes, Fives, Bass, Playbars and Beams) and are curious if the Voice Control can be synced to control the existing 11 Sonos devices.
Asked by Jacquie.
- A:Answer Yes, it can. Voice control is available on all Sonos speakers however some do not have microphones so you would need to use and Echo Dot or similar device to control them.

Q: QuestionCan this be paired with the Sonos One SL for surround sound (Sonos One SL - Right Channel; Sonos One - L Channel)?
Asked by Geekster.
- A:Answer Hello, and great question! Yes, you can do that. Doesn't matter which one is which surround. No need to have voice mics in both speakers if they're in the same room, so we designed the One and One SL to work together as rears, and as a stereo pair, too!

Q: QuestionWould there be any issues with moisture if used under a patio for an out door speaker?
Asked by Rtaps.
- A:Answer Hi, I used a pair of Sonos 1's in a covered outdoor kitchen year-round; estimate they were out there for about 4+ years, never had a problem with moisture. One was about 5' above our grill / smoker, so also exposed to those elements. Pretty robust speaker. I would expect these never were exposed to direct moisture, I.e. rain or snow, but the humidity of St. Louis, no problems.

Q: QuestionHello My question is. I have 2 regular Sonos speakers, will Sono one work with my speakers as a stereo sound? and which is better Sonos one or Sonos SL? Thank you
Asked by Ninosny.
- A:Answer Hi, and thank you for your question! It depends what you mean by "regular" Sonos speakers. You can stereo pair like-for-like speakers. The only exception is One and One SL. One and One SL can be stereo paired together. Other than that, you would have to have x2 of the exact same Sonos speaker. Out of the two speakers neither are better than the other. Acoustically, they're exactly the same. The only difference is that the Sonos One has voice mics built in for Alexa, and Google Assistant, where the One SL does not.
