Great addition to our Basic Sonos System
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We added this speaker to a second room in the house. It was simple to install , and it is simple to operate from our iPhones. If one of us want something different than what is playing on the main system, it is easy to do. And if we want full sound going between the two rooms as we walk from one to the other, it provides seamless and powerful synchronized sound.

very cool unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sonos 3 is an excellent piece of technology. Great sound, and the fact I can control it from anywhere in the house on any of my laptops, ipads, or cell is a wonder. Plus all the commercial free radio stations is a huge bonus.

Sonos Play me some music!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two Play 3's hooked up in our theater room. They connect to our Sonos Playbar & Sub. With the 5.1 channel the TV sounds great through all the speakers. The Play 3's are the rear speakers and they are crystal clear. We also have 6 Play 1's hooked up in pairs throughout the house & they too sound great in stereo with two in each room.

I LOVE this speaker!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to set up the Sonos Play:3 very quickly using the Quickstart Guide (and I'm no rocket scientist when it comes to these things). I got the speaker on my home wireless, downloaded the Sonos app to my iPhone, then connected immediately to Apple Music and have been streaming happily ever since. I can hear the music throughout my approximately 1600 sq. ft. apartment even though the volume is set low enough to not annoy my neighbor. The sound quality is excellent.

Could sound better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love how the Sonos software works so I bought this speaker, one of many Sonos speakers I have. This is my second Play:3. I find for the price it doesn't sound much better than the Play:1. I'd rather have a Play:5 but this is of course much more affordable than the 5 and provides more filling sound than a Play:1 although the sound quality is similar. The unit is built well and attractive. The Sonos set up could not be easier, the software is great and is updated frequently while at the same time the speakers aren't physically updated, so you don't have to run out every year and upgrade to the newest hardware because they support it continually.

Great little speaker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sonos is the by far the best option in wireless speakers. The play 3 delivers a clean distortion free sound. I mounted my Play 3s on speaker stands and paired them for a stereo effect in my living room. The sounds fill the entire room with a small foot print.

Q: QuestionWould you recommend 2 Sonos Play 1 speakers for stereo effect over a single Play 3
Asked by Johnny V.
- A:Answer We were originally planning on the Sonos 1. After listening in the store, the sound quality of the 3 is MUCH superior. Sonos 3 is "rich", wheras the Sonos 1 sounds "tinny" by comparison. If you're going to take the plunge with Sonos, I'd recommend the 3 series. Paired in stereo, they are superb, and even individually, they're excellent.

Q: QuestionSonos speaker connectionI am interested in purchasing two sonos play 3 speakers for my downstairs living room. My router is located upstairs . Do I need to connect the speakers to my upstairs router??
Asked by Bill.
- A:Answer All you need is to buy a $40 bridge, plug that into your router and you can add 20 speakers if you like. they all communicate via wi fi like your laptop, tablet or phone.

Q: QuestionI have a Play-1 on my Lanai. Now I want to add a Play-3 for my living room. Can I play both simultaneously and tune into 2 different stations. This would be from one phone app.
Asked by Andy.
- A:Answer Yes, you can. I have a play1 and play3. You can play different songs/stations/apps on each speaker or you can group them together to play the same thing. You can also adjust the volume of each speaker separately from your phone.

Q: QuestionWill this work on your TV? Like movies or Pandora?
Asked by Spike.
- A:Answer No, the Play 5 2nd gen has a 3mm plug but the Play 3 and Play 1 only work via Wifi with the Sonos app or Spotify if you have a premium account.

Q: QuestionWhat if you want to play a cd?
Asked by Gigi.
- A:Answer What is a CD? Haha, I'm an old guy, and cut my teeth on vinyl, so I do know what you mean. My CD's have largely been loaded on my iPad, and the Sonos can access my music using the app. To use a CD player, you'd have to buy a Sonos Connect($349) and use that as your CD player's wifi-portal to the Sonos network.

Q: QuestionSonos 3 Compatibility with Samsung Sound BarI have a Samsung TV with a Samsung Sound Bar. Is the Sonos 3 compatible with the Samsung speaker that would allow me to get TV sound through it?
Asked by Moondawg.
- A:Answer It would not be "compatible" out of the box. I would assume you are looking to extend your home theater system with a couple of Play:3s. To use another sound system, including a non-Sonos soundbar, with a Sonos speaker you would need a Connect:AMP to connect to your existing system. The Play:3 is not intended to be an extension of your Samsung home theater device, but rather a component of your larger Sonos network of speakers.

Q: QuestionDo you need to purchase a bridge? If you buy the sonos 3, do you have to buy a bridge for the system to work?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No, you can use your existing wi-fi network, if you have one. But a Sonos Bridge will create a dedicated, robust wi-fi network for your sound system. I'd recommend purchasing a bridge, it allows a super easy way to expand your speaker system with clear sound always.

Q: QuestionWhat is the length of the power cord on the play:3? Where does the cord connect to the play:3 - on one side of the unit, or the middle? Can I see a picture of the back of the play:3 showing where the cord enters the unit?
Asked by Doug.
- A:Answer Cord is 6’6” (approx). Attaches to bottom right of back or bottom left depending on orientation (see picture)
