Best locally available single layer DVD media
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendMost blank media you buy is not made by the company that has their name on them. There is a little (free) program out there called DVD Identifier that actually reads discs and tells you who made them, regardless of the name on the disc. Every brand I've tried (TDK, Memorex, Maxell, Phillips, etc) are actually made by a variety of low quality disc producers. I've even tested multiple discs from the SAME spindle and they're from different companies!! = varying quality. Every Sony I've ID'd states "Sony Accurcore - Sony Corporation". No 3'rd party makers products here. I've never had a bad burn with a Sony DVD. I've also never had a CRC error (CRC errors mean the disc is no longer readable, even by a PC). Do a web search on DVD media reviews and Sony will usually come up as 2nd best (1st is TY, a Japanese produced disc that is VERY hard to find locally, and even when buying them online you can get fakes).

Great value, great compatibility
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendBuying blank DVD's can sometimes be a shot in the dark. Different burners have different compatibilities with the discs. On one of my burners, I consistently could not burn at greater than 4x, even though it was a 16x drive. I went through multiple brands of DVD's. I finally tried the Sony discs, and they worked flawlessly. They have also worked at full speed on every burner I have used them with (currently about 6 different brands and models).

Worth the Money
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI've tried other media that seemed to work okay, but then there would be some disks that would cause some errors when burning a dvd. These Sony disks don't give me such a problem. I am able to create high quality dvd slideshows that are compatible with each of the dvd players in my house. The price is worth it, since buying so many at one time will not cause you to worry that the quality of the dvd's will wear out. They won't, and I am able to make my creations with little or no frustration.

Best DVD to use for movies
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI have tried different products to backup my movies and they did not work as good as the sony DVD+R. Other products would skip or freeze on my dvd player. With sony there is never a problem. This is something in which I actually would pay a little more because I know that it wont freeze or skip on me. Plus they dont scratch as easy as the other products, so the movies last longer and are more protected. Highly recommened. Trust me.

Can't Miss
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendSimply the best blank discs in the business in terms quality (very, very few coasters). Try all the other brands and you will see what I mean. Can't lose with the "Sony" name and would you really want to trust your important work with some "no name" media.

Outstanding product!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendPurchased these for my son who had created a DVD to give to his graduating class. Copies were very clear, audio and video excellent. Had used these in the past with similar results. Best Buy ad states these will record from 1x to 8x, packaging states they will record from 1x to 16x. We used them on a laptop with an 8x burner and a desktop with a 16x burner and had no problems with either.

great discs
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI have used about 600 or so of these Sony discs to backup my dvd collection. I have not had a single burn error; I have not had the same success with other discs. Other people that say they have should probably check their hardware/software. They can be a little pricey, but go on sale fairly often and are worth the sale price. Just watch for them on sale and load up.

100% Success Rate
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendMy experience with these flawless discs suggests that people who are creating a lot of coasters don't have enough RAM and a fast enough processor to run other programs at the same time. Disc-burning software is still single-core even when it's running on dual-core computers.
