Wow... What a TV
Posted .Let me start out by saying I really love this TV and I'm learning more about it everyday. I picked it up over the Thanksgiving holiday when the price dropped. I was originally going to purchase the Samsung 4K- 7550 but the picture quality on this TV looked so much better to me. So I picked it up instead and have not regretted it one bit. The TV was easy to setup but I had some problems connecting it to my sound system. It is a known issue on this TV that using an optical cable for input from the TV to your home sound system may make a very loud noise when you switch from one input to the other. I had to call Bose to get a work around because nothing seemed to work. They advised me the run the audio from the TV's headphone jack into my sound system. You will need to purchase a Audio Y Cable Splitter 1-Mini Plug, 2-RCA Plugs. in order for this to work. I'm happy to say that using this method everything works as it should now. The TV Upscales all of my Channels including Cable, Netflix, Xbox and DVDs. Most HD channels look very clear. Blue Rays and 1080P input looks amazing. I want to also share a couple things that I found out that most people didn't mention in these reviews. 1. This TV not only has 3D but it also has simulated 3D which means you can make anything you are watching into 3D. No need to get a 3D movie to enjoy 3D. Of course a dedicated 3D movie will have a better experience but for cartoons it works great for the kids to just simulate the 3D picture. Plus you can use the 3D glasses you get from the movie theater. Not more buying those expensive active 3D glasses. 2. This TV has a Football mode button on the remote. What this does is change the picture on the screen to look to and run smoother for fast moving or action scenes. I really like to look of this mode and feel it enhances the picture a lot. 3. There isn't a lot of 4K content but YouTube has quite a bit. If you go to YouTube and search for 4K content you will find some really nice videos to show off your new TV. 4. You can bring up YouTube content on your smartphone and ScreenCast it to your TV automatically. This allows me to use my phone as a remote and Screencast anything from it right on the TV including pictures and videos. 5. Lots of useful Apps that are pre-loaded right into the TV. Sony even offers an APP where they have limited free content. I hope this review will be useful in helping people decide on the TV. So far its great and I'm looking forward to checking out many more of the great features this TV offers.

This UHD TV is BREATHT.....
Posted .Wow! Wow! Wow! This 4K TV is absolutely amazing! And I do mean amazing! I was first captivated by the in-store display that had literally stopped me in my tracks. Saw that I was saving $1500 and I knew it was the best deal. This is an XBR, the elite of the elite, and the display proves it! The 3D is just as amazing. I thought Blu-ray was at it's best before, but now I know better! Everything just pops out at you. It's PASSIVE 3D so you don't need batteries with the glasses. Two glasses came with the TV, and each additional pair is only $10. Played my XBOX One on 2D to 3D conversion mode and it is pretty good. Must have the right angle though. All in all, I love this TV!

Excellent product and Qualilty
|Posted .I have always wanted a 4K television and decided in Dec. to make a purchase. (BestBuy had a very good price point on this unit during their Christmas Sale). Picture is fantastic on HD broadcast and Im looking forward to purchasing a 4K medfia player to take full advantage of this units potential as well as the "smart" technology and features. I researched and looked at many 4K sets before making such a purchase. By far Sony had the most realistic image and color/black tones. I found Samsungs 4K picture a bit to intense and bright and not as realistic. Also looked at Sharp, Panasonic, Vizeo and a host of other 4k televisions. Sony has really come back with having the best technology and has once again gained top ranking as far as Im concerned.. Yes, this unit is not inexpensive, but well worth the investment.

Nice TV with Sony quality
|Posted .My experience with this TV has been mostly positive. I haven't used any of the advanced 4K features yet. As far as I know there isn't any 4K content available. Since the TV didn't cost a lot more than a regular TV, I thought "Why not?" and bought it. I like the wireless internet. The built-in apps are nice. I stream Netflix almost every day. My only disappointment is the 3D. It has passive 3D technology instead of active. My Samsung has active 3D and it is crystal clear and really amazing. With the Sony I noticed double images in the background and mostly inferior picture quality. It could be because I am forced to wear vision correction glasses under the 3D glasses. That might cause a bad picture, although it isn't a problem with active 3D. So the Samsung is in my TV room and the Sony is in the bedroom.

Great picture and easy set up
|Posted .Replaced a four (4) year old LCD that was purchased and installed by Best Buy. Much better picture on the Sony! Installed on wall with existing mounting hardware with no issues. Set up was a snap. Connected to Comcast cable and internet by just following on screen menu. Very pleased with the sales associate that recommended the Sony brand. I must say again how amazing the picture quality is.

Excellent product for the price
Posted .This is by far the best 4k TV in its price range. I chose the 55" to meet my budget concerns and I could not be any happier. The TV was simple to setup, the built in wifi connected flawlessly, and the built in apps (plus many more to download) work perfectly! Glare is relatively low even as it hangs next to our patio door. The TV allows an ARC back through to my home theater system so that I do not have to use the TV speakers. By the far the most outstanding feature that caved me in would be the notification light on the bottom of the frame. This does no more than blink when pushing a button on the remote, but I am a person who appreciates the small details! The passive 3D also works great with the 2 free pair of glasses the TV came with. My only con was the un-detachable power cord. It only reaches 5', I needed at least 6' to go behind the wall mount, down the wall and then to the surge protector. Furthermore, I had upgraded from a 46" Sony Bravia, and after this purchase, it seems Sony is the brand I will be staying with.

Great 4k tv for gaming
|Posted .This is a great Sony 40 TV because it makes everything sharper and with a lot of features The only bad thing is that doesn't have a 7.1 audio decoder and it gets hot on the left top side but if you install a fan in the back it fixes the problem

Q: QuestionCan I move the tv stands in 6inches on each side. The picture shows it all the way on the end.
Asked by jeff.
- A:Answer yes, sorta. There are two locations for the feet. Most pictures show the outside position, all the way at the edges. Here the legs attach directly to the back face of the TV. But there is an alternate location (which is the one I needed to use) that locates the feet about 16 inches apart from each other in the middle of the TV (each leg is 8" off of centerline). Here, the legs are slightly reconfigured and slide into slots "inside" the tv and attach with the same hardware. There are plastic cover plates provided that cover whichever spot isn't used. This is one of the first things covered in the manual (although essentially all in "picture instructions" typical of a foreign made product book). Both locations seem very sturdy.

Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes it does, it sits right on top, center of the TV, and it even folds up (to face the ceiling) behind it, in case anybody out there thinks Big Brother, or Uncle Sam is watching you.
