Big TV
||Posted .I read all the reviews and this lives up to the billing. Great picture, 55" is the perfect size. Easy to navigate through the menus. I would highly recommend getting the highest quality HDMI cables. I have owned a Sony Bravia that lasts and looks great for a long time, so I expect this to do the same. I also bought the Yamaha Surround Sound Theatre in a Box which sounds great. I would get it all in one shot and have the Geek Squad hook everything up and explain it. Well worth the money!!

WOW! Juicy Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich
||Posted .When my wife and I turned on our new Sony 55" 4K Ultra Smart TV for the first time, we watched a commercial with a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich that took up the whole screen. The strawberry jelly was dripping over the sides of the bread and we could see the holes in the bread. My wife and I looked at each other with big wide open eyes and just started laughing. We are both so happy with our purchase, and it came just in time for the Seahawks playoff game. We wish they won, but at least we got to see the clear faces of the players as we watched.

So far, so good - no regrets
||Posted .I've had the TV for a couple of weeks now and still have no buyer's remorse. While there isn't a lot being broadcast in 4k yet, I'm sure it will come. In the meantime, the size of the image is a joy. I love too that the physical frame around the screen is so small. There's no clutter, no big box, it's just all screen. I love it.

Sony - 55" Class LED - 2160p - Smart TV
||Posted .The Netflix function on the remote only works when it wants to and the TV has issue with staying connected to the WIFI. Other than that, the picture and sound quality is amazing.

Q: Questionwhat is the difference between xbr850c and xbr850b?I somehow am feeling xbr850b has more features than xbr850c i.e. Skype integrated, webcam etc. What am I missing? is this tv better than xbr850b? Any more killer features? I am planning to buy ont this week am not able to find the XBR850b.
Asked by Rajiv.
- A:Answer Main difference between B and C is that B has the skype, webcam, 2d to 3d conversation. Those features are nice and all but the C has the X1 chip which blows the B models picture clarity and 4k upconversion quality out of the water. The picture on the C model is outstanding. Plus the C model uses the google OS, so sideloading is possible. I was able to load Kodi aka XBMC. Now this is an ultimate media tv.

Q: QuestionI am Apple iPhone, iPad, and Mac user so will this TV be an issue for me since it comes with Android?I am Apple iPhone, iPad, and Mac user so will this TV be an issue for me since it comes with Android and I no longer wish to use an Android system but I do prefer the Sony name. Sure wish this was just a Smart TV without Android.
Asked by BB.
- A:Answer I am an iMac, IPhone and IPad user and the tv isn't a problem for me...

Q: QuestionDoes the XBR55X850C have SKYPE capability?I know the older B series had SKYPE preinstalled however can I just download SKYPE from the google playstore and purchase the Sony webcam and use SKYPE that way?
Asked by Aki.
- A:Answer Skype capability was eliminated this year. Unless they decide to make an android update that allows the tv to work with Skype from the google play store, it currently isn't available. The reason is because Sony's research showed that no one was really using Skype on last year's models, so instead of focusing on that this year, they simply took it out of the equation. From my understanding, Samsung has done this too with their new models.

Q: Questionwhat is the refresh rate?I won't upgrade til the Sony 4Ks are upgraded to 240, vs 120. Sony doesn't list the refresh in its spec list anymore --why is that??
Asked by DonSanAnto.
- A:Answer Don, Yeah as the Sony rep said the TV is native at 120Hz. The Motionflow is nice, but is hard to quantify measurement in anything that isn't Hertz. That said, I've been very happy with the refresh on it - there's a lot of motion blur control as well. Maybe it's because I don't see much of a need beyond 120 Hz for 2D images considering nothing is really shot or edited beyond 60fps and it's rare to see games go above 60fps unless you're using a PC.

Q: Questionwhat are the differences between the 850c and the 810cI am looking at the 55" class Sonys - 850c and 810c - what does the former have to cost $200 more, and what does that mean in viewer performance?
Asked by joe.
- A:Answer The external bezel is much much better. The 850c also has the x1 processor as well as the triluminous color and hdr. After we got it setup we are totally satified. The extra $200 is a complete no brainer. Spend it and you will not have to upgrade again for over a 5 year period and maybe longer if it lasts longer.
