Overall fantastic, BUT after some mild adjustments
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV looks and performs absolutely incredible: just what I'd expect from a Bravia, but needed some adjustments. Out of the box, the colors were a bit muted for my taste; they were dull, undersaturated, heavy on the green tint, and brightness was heavily shaded & dark. This immediately blew me back a bit, because I'd been watching review-after-review on this model for weeks prior to purchasing, and most claimed that out of the box, their TV looked amazing and did not need any adjustments. After diving into the picture settings for a few minutes, I was able to achieve that same vivid picture quality that I'd been seeing in most 'honest reviews.' For my unit (and for my taste), I had to adjust the following settings: Picture Mode: Vivid Light Sensor: Off (I didn't like the dynamic auto-adjusting) Brightness: Usually 40-45 Color: Set to 60-65 and Hue set to R5 Temperature: Neutral Live Color: High Clarity: 75 Motion Flow set to Auto, Smoothness set to 2, Clearness set to 1. Note: These are the settings which helped me to achieve what I like, which might not be what you like. Change them at your own discretion, if you choose to. I am not a professional calibrator, but I am an experienced photo and video editor, so I do know when an image seems a bit off to me. Overall, I'm really happy with the purchase and although I have included a photo, it shouldn't be taken as a real-life or accurate representation; it looks so much better in person! The TV was an excellent price and the menus & functions are highly intuitive to use/learn. The menu navigation is very snappy and quick, which I like a lot. I've not even touched my FireTV (Cube) since setting up my X900H, as I've installed most apps which I'd been using on my FireTV. The performance comparison between the two is a night & day-positive experience. Very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend to others.

Almost OLED.....
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have the 65” OLED at home and wanted to upgrade our tv at the cottage. I thought the Sony OLED might be too bright for the sunny room we would be putting it into. I think I was correct. This 900H series is perfect for this bright room; and WOW, what a great picture. This television also comes with HDR which my daughter says is perfect for gaming. I would never give up my OLED for the 900H but I would be hard pressed to argue that the OLED is worth the extra $900. You will not be sorry you bought this set.

Must-Have for Next Gen Games (and MORE!)
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A mid-budget buy you WON’T regret. It doesn’t beat OLED picture wise, but for an LED/LCD screen, it’s absolutely gorgeous and rivals the best TVs in its tier. The picture is amazing, deep blacks and great detail in UHD HDR content, but the standout is for gameplay. With updates, you unlock the HDMI 2.1 port that allows 120fps gaming and in future updates will have more features to make it better, so great for next-generation PS5 gaming as marketed. But it’s also future proof in its ASTC 3.0 tuning for future 4K/120hz broadcast standard rolling out over the next years. PLUS, not to mention some content in IMAX Enhanced movie mode (like IMAX Spider-Man Far From Home via FandangoNOW, which is something not many mention!). If you can’t wait till 2021’s TV offerings, this is solid!

Great for gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im looking at this son x900h vs the samsung q80t but decided to get the sony over samsung. Out of the box the picture quality is pretty good, it can be better. Also make sure your tv stand is wide enough if youre not going to hang it. Im going to be using this mostly for console gaming and im lookingbforward to the hdmi 2.1 which they say will come through software update. Im using a 1st gen ps4 i wonder if the picture is better with the playstation pro but im just going to wait on ps5. Also sony said that its a ps5 ready tv will see but so far im pretty happy with my putchase

BEST TV FOR 1k HANDS DOWN!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been through literally 20 TVs. I have tried them All. This tv is the best tv for $1,000 that you can buy right now! Great picture quality. Bright and vibrant colors. Blooming is pretty much non existent in this generation. Up scaling is insane. Motion is gorgeous. I’m so glad that I finally found a TV that I love. If you’re in the market, AVOID HISENSE AND TCL. The tcl 6 series garbage compared to this.

An amazing mid range TV from Sony
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On the short list of TVs that can support next gen gaming features like 4K 120; the X900H should be considered. The picture quality is fantastic and black levels are very good for an LED. I think Sony really worked hard to make a competitive TV for PS5 that is drawing a lot of attention for good reason!

The Sony 900h series is perfect for the new PS5
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best tv that Sony has at this price point. The colors are really natural and precise . Watching 4k movies on this tv is spectacular. Can’t beat the details on every aspect of the Color spectrum , deepest blacks , natural whites especially if you have a 4k UHD Blu-ray player which I have and is also a Sony . Got it on pre Black Friday sale and was on member pricing which was a steal at $919.99 I just had to buy it . As always best shopping experience at bestbuy . Thanks for having such quality products .

Q: QuestionYou should mention the ATSC 3.0 tuner in this set. It truly sets it apart.
Asked by Jsongster.
- A:Answer Yes, the ATSC 3.0 tuner is indeed worth mentioning in any new television in 2020 where it is available. Not all TVs in 2020 are shipping with ATSC 3.0, but Sony reports this one is. In the 2020 lineup, it appears LG and Samsung are only offering this new tuner technology in their higher end models. So this mid-range model by Sony is unique in that respect. ATSC 3.0 is also referred to as the next generation broadcast standard that was approved by the FCC. Unlike ATSC 1.0 (which became the television broadcast standard in 2009) (HDTV), this next generation tuner technology will enable the television to display 4k broadcasts (via over the air/broadcast television) as broadcasters adopt the new standard. The roll out will be slow, but (prior to COVID-19), it was announced that some stations (in the top 40 identified US markets) stated that they will begin broadcasting this new standard by the end of 2020. Please keep in mind, ATSC 3.0 is a voluntary, which means not all broadcasters may participate in the future. But given the level of reported interest, it appears many broadcasters will eventually adopt the standard. Televisions without the new ATSC 3.0 tuner will not be able to receive new 4K broadcasts (as they become available). So any current television (without this new tuner) will only be able to receive any future 4K broadcast signals with an external tuner. And most likely, that would only apply to newer TV sets. You can read more about this next generation broadcast standard (aka ATSC 3.0) in a number of articles published online. I am a cord cutter and broadcast enthusiast so this new tuner technology is important to me. I hope this feedback helps others in some way.

Q: QuestionAre you able to download the AppleTV app on this model?

Q: QuestionCan the Sony X900H TV with HDMI 2.1 run 4k @ 120fps simultaneously? I've looked around and haven't found that answer. I'm looking at buying this TV for the next gen gaming consoles.
Asked by Duro1990.
- A:Answer Short answer is "Yes, but" Long answer is that the screen is capable of 120 FPS at 4K resolution, but the firmware won't support it until later in the year (presumably when the PS5 is released). Not that you'll miss the framerate until then, unless you're planning to also hook up a rather powerful PC and use it as a monitor in the meantime.

Q: QuestionWhat is the width between the stand legs?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer 41 1/2 inch
Answered by SABRINA
Q: QuestionFull stand dimensions? I'd like to know the depth (front to back) of legs and width between the outer legs.
Asked by JCNYC.
- A:Answer Depth is 13 3/8", and width is 41.5". It is possible to buy aftermarket pedestal stands for $30-40 if these won't work for you - I use some on another TV, and they attach in the same way a bracket for wall mounting would.

Q: QuestionHas the firmware for HDMI 2.1 been released yet?
Asked by CooperH.
- A:Answer I am on the East Coast and the update was pushed to my TV last night.
Answered by wshcaps30
Q: QuestionHow many of the HDMI ports will support HDMI 2.1 features after the firmware updates? I am hoping all 4, unlike Samgsung Q90T being only 1. I have not been able to find any confirmations.
Asked by Rando.
- A:Answer 2 of the HDMI ports will be HDMI 2.1 capable once the firmware is released.
Answered by SgtRok
Q: QuestionWhich of the 4 ports will support hdmi 2.1 on this model? 've seen some sources state only a few ports would and a support agent on sony's site state all 4 ports would support hdmi 2.1 features. So I'm hoping to get clarification before my ps5 arrives.
Asked by David.
- A:Answer Hi David, Thank you so much for your inquiry. These will be supported on HDMI Input 3 and 4. We have already released an update that adds support for eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) and for the 4K 120Hz signal format to allow for PlayStation5 compatibility. Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) will be added via a future firmware update. I hope this helps! ~Ralph
