Q: QuestionYou should mention the ATSC 3.0 tuner in this set. It truly sets it apart.
Asked by Jsongster.
- A:Answer Yes, the ATSC 3.0 tuner is indeed worth mentioning in any new television in 2020 where it is available. Not all TVs in 2020 are shipping with ATSC 3.0, but Sony reports this one is. In the 2020 lineup, it appears LG and Samsung are only offering this new tuner technology in their higher end models. So this mid-range model by Sony is unique in that respect. ATSC 3.0 is also referred to as the next generation broadcast standard that was approved by the FCC. Unlike ATSC 1.0 (which became the television broadcast standard in 2009) (HDTV), this next generation tuner technology will enable the television to display 4k broadcasts (via over the air/broadcast television) as broadcasters adopt the new standard. The roll out will be slow, but (prior to COVID-19), it was announced that some stations (in the top 40 identified US markets) stated that they will begin broadcasting this new standard by the end of 2020. Please keep in mind, ATSC 3.0 is a voluntary, which means not all broadcasters may participate in the future. But given the level of reported interest, it appears many broadcasters will eventually adopt the standard. Televisions without the new ATSC 3.0 tuner will not be able to receive new 4K broadcasts (as they become available). So any current television (without this new tuner) will only be able to receive any future 4K broadcast signals with an external tuner. And most likely, that would only apply to newer TV sets. You can read more about this next generation broadcast standard (aka ATSC 3.0) in a number of articles published online. I am a cord cutter and broadcast enthusiast so this new tuner technology is important to me. I hope this feedback helps others in some way.

Q: QuestionCan the Sony X900H TV with HDMI 2.1 run 4k @ 120fps simultaneously? I've looked around and haven't found that answer. I'm looking at buying this TV for the next gen gaming consoles.
Asked by Duro1990.
- A:Answer Short answer is "Yes, but" Long answer is that the screen is capable of 120 FPS at 4K resolution, but the firmware won't support it until later in the year (presumably when the PS5 is released). Not that you'll miss the framerate until then, unless you're planning to also hook up a rather powerful PC and use it as a monitor in the meantime.

Q: QuestionFull stand dimensions? I'd like to know the depth (front to back) of legs and width between the outer legs.
Asked by JCNYC.
- A:Answer Depth is 13 3/8", and width is 41.5". It is possible to buy aftermarket pedestal stands for $30-40 if these won't work for you - I use some on another TV, and they attach in the same way a bracket for wall mounting would.

Q: QuestionHow many of the HDMI ports will support HDMI 2.1 features after the firmware updates? I am hoping all 4, unlike Samgsung Q90T being only 1. I have not been able to find any confirmations.
Asked by Rando.
- A:Answer 2 of the HDMI ports will be HDMI 2.1 capable once the firmware is released.

Q: QuestionWhich of the 4 ports will support hdmi 2.1 on this model? 've seen some sources state only a few ports would and a support agent on sony's site state all 4 ports would support hdmi 2.1 features. So I'm hoping to get clarification before my ps5 arrives.
Asked by David.
- A:Answer Hi David, Thank you so much for your inquiry. These will be supported on HDMI Input 3 and 4. We have already released an update that adds support for eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) and for the 4K 120Hz signal format to allow for PlayStation5 compatibility. Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) will be added via a future firmware update. I hope this helps! ~Ralph
