This Sony Picture Was Not Hacked!!
||Posted .My wife and I made this purchase this for the holidays, and what a great decision we made. The picture quality is superb. The price was even better. I had never made a major purchase from Best Buy, so I was a little wary initially. The sales team was superb. They never pressured me or tried to sell me things that I did not want. I'll buy again from Best Buy.

Perfect...
Posted .This tv is well made, very light weight, great images and colors for the price. Remote control is not that great but functional. It's a wifi / smart tv with many applications. Over all is just Perfect for Us!

Below average TV at a GOOD price.
Posted .I have been skeptical of this unit since there have been so many reviews saying that this unit is only 60 hertz. If you type in the actual TV code KDL60R510A, and check out the Sony website, it will show you they have updated the information to say 120 hertz. I do not know if the unit is 60 or 120, all I can say is that the picture looks pretty darn good for the most part. A lot of this review has to do with me having this screen plugged into my computer as a 3rd screen, therefor I don’t use any of the internet apps and simply play everything from my computer. I’ve had this TV for 5 days now and here is what I can tell you. Pros: + Great picture at default settings + Pretty nice contrast range + A beautiful screen with a thin bezel, this thing “Looks nice/expensive”. Cons: - Lack of picture modes, only 3. (Vivid, Standard, Custom) - LAG when hooked up to my computer. The lag on this screen compared to TV’s I have used in the past is seriously noticeable. - Inability to change the picture mode when hooked up to a computer. It just says “Graphics” and will not let me change the picture settings. In other words, I can’t change the brightness, contrast and other things while being used as a monitor! (may take back for this reason alone) Please keep in mind I am not by any means a “TV Expert.” This is just a review by an average guy looking for a good TV at a competitive price. Is this TV bad for only 650.00? No, but it’s not some sort of once in a lifetime amazing deal either. Although this is a good price for a 60 Inch LED TV, it’s not the only good price out there. There is a lot of competition for Black Friday, and I think with a little more research, you could find a better buy for your money.

Excellent LED Smart TV for the price.
||Posted .This is my first LED Smart TV and first Sony TV product. The price was too good to pass up, compared to other brands marked at the same price. I replaced my 50" Samsung plasma which is suffering screen burns that leaves a purple haze. The picture quality is great but it's what you expect from Sony. You see a crisp detail and contrast. The Motionflow XR240 offers smooth movements, clear life-like motion. The audio sounds is as great as it looks. I'm surprised at how much Bass it has. Not that I'll use it, since it will be connected with me sound system. But, its good to know that it is packed with good speakers, where you don't have to crank up the volume just to hear. Now on to the Smart TV. You can access the Sony Entertainment Network apps. It does have some apps and games, just don't expect the same apps as you would see on mobile. You do get the NETFLIX and VUDU service. Accessing the Netflix app is fast with a dedicated Netflix button on the Remote Control. And for those who has DirecTV, I will let you in on a little secret that I am happy about. This particular LED TV has a built-in feature setting called RVU. What this means is that this TV is a DirecTV Ready TV. You can eliminate your receiver and save you money.Just call DirecTV for more info. Overall, this is an excellent LED Smart TV for the price. You get great crisp picture quality and sound. I would recommend this for those who is new in Smart TV that is on a budget.

KDL60R510A good deal here on sale.
Posted .First of all, this is not a 120hz TV. Sony doesn't say that it is, box doesn't say it, books don't say it. I don't know why every retailer is listing it as one. But I've spent about 8hrs today on it and here are my thoughts. +Screen was flawless backlighting even. No bleed to be seen. Sexy slim bezel. Well built. But hey..its a Sony. + Easy setup. I plugged this TV in and after a 3 step setup and internet connectivity (built in WiFi# it was good to go. Took about 10 minutes. +Smart features. I like that it has a Netflix button and other options, pretty good for this price point #$650) +Picture. Not 120hz but feels like it. Smooth images. I watched a few movies on this thing and I have to say Sony's color production is beautiful. I felt like I was watching things for the first time. It also seems to handle the 1080p24 cinema input well. No judders. The True Motion isn't that great, there are Jaggies that will outline some cluttered fast content with it turned all the way up. Hopefully firmware update will fix it. I'll update this review after I watch the Patriots game Sunday. +Lag. So I couldn't find a 'Game Mode' setting on this thing however the latency is minimal it feels 30ms'ish. Played Destiny and barely noticed a difference compared to my Asus 1ms monitor. Sony is know for good gaming TV's and this doesn't differ. -Settings. I've only seen 3 picture settings. Vivid, Standard and Custom. Custom is the only one that allows you to use advanced settings and modify the image to your desire. That being said there are only basic controls to due so. Gamma, brightness, color temp and hue are present but color spectrum controls are not so RGB modification isn't possible. It took some time and effort to get the image perfect for me. Out off the box thou the picture is pretty. -Sound. At this point of the 21st century pretty much every TV will have obsolete sound. Yes it has speakers, no it wont blow women's clothes off. Get a sound bar and sub or some Klipsch surround sound like me. -Not 120hz as advertised. Not sure if I'm gonna return it on principle or keep it cause its so pretty to look at. Its kinda like dating a stripper. :P All in all for a $650 price tag I find it worth it for my basic Game Room TV needs. I figure I'll go low budget with this TV for a year or two, by 2016 4kUHD content should be in abundance and the technology for it cheaper and better. I'll save up for my Theater Room TV till then.

EXCELLENT
Posted .I wanted to upgrade from my 51' Samsung Plasma Smart 3D tv, primarily because plasma's have a glare issue and our new home has lots of windows. Did tons of research online and settled on the 60" Vizio E-600i-B3. Got to the store and then saw this Sony Bravia 60" for the SAME low price. I then had a decision to make. I tried to do a quick search for this Sony on my phone however i could not find a single review, reason being was this model is fairly new (august 2014) i didnt know what to do, the sales people were helpless honestly. ALL the SPECS lined up to a T! Both TVS offered the same features, nothing on the featurs list seperated the two. I decided to go with the brand name of SONY. I have now had the TV for a week and i absolutely love it!! Great sleek look, beautiful Bessel. The picture out of the box was already a upgrade over my plasma. Already pleased with the picture, it even improved since!! Got better as the days went on, guess it breaks itself in. My primary use of this tv is sports and gaming with my PS4. I ABSOLUTELY recommend this for any gamer or sports fan! My wife also says this tv makes here daytime soap characters look like they are going to jump out of the TV HAHAHA!!

Good looking TV, Great Picture Quality
Posted .Let me start by saying that I am no expert in TV reviewing. The set that I was using prior was about 5 yrs old 40 inch CCFL back lit Sony TV. And this feels like an UPGRADE. I think all things are relative. I have not compared the picture quality to a high end TV. I am not sure if this is a 60 Hz or 120 Hz TV. The Sony site claims it to be a 120 Hz refresh rate. But I will leave the discussion to the purists. Out of the box the TV looks expensive. Does not look like a cheap TV sitting in your living room. People are going to ask how much you got the TV for! Picture: is amazing. For a 650 dollar TV I was not expecting the picture quality to be so good. The colors look well saturated. The Blacks are deep. The lighting is uniform. I did not notice any light bleeding around the edges. There are only 3 picture modes to choose from: Vivid, Standard and Custom. You can go in and change the individual settings and there is an advanced settings option, where you can go in and change things like gamma, contrast enhancer etc. I hope somebody will post settings from their calibration online soon. Input: has 3 HDMI inputs, an optical output, RF in, analog audio out, 2 USB inputs. Viewing angle: It is good. The colors do start to fade slightly after being about 30-40 degrees off the center. However, I can get a decent viewing from my kitchen which is about 140 degrees. Sound: I did not test the sound much as I had a sound bar. But the sound was ok. Speech was clear. Smart TV functionality: Did not test other apps but the Netflix app works pretty good. It is fast, responsive and functional. Not to mention, the BestBuy’s Service was great. The guys who came in to deliver the TV were great. They took out the TV, fixed the stand and put it on the TV table. They waited until I confirmed that the TV was in working order and I was satisfied with the TV. I think this is a steal for 650 dollars. There may be better TV deals out there but this sure was worth my money. Watching the House of Cards and am enjoying it.

Exceptional Value 5*
Posted .Rarely will I pull the trigger on a television without seeing it on display. However, with the SONY KDL60R510A I am not disappointed. TV is a solid, 1080p TV. Very thin bezel. Stand seems a little wonky but works well. Loaded up Avatar to get a look at the color accuracy and sharpness out of the box, and it was great. To look at the dark scenes out of the box, I loaded up the Game of Thrones Blu-Rays. Fantastic picture quality and a huge screen size, and great value. In terms of the TV not being a true 120hz set, that shouldn't diminish it's quality OR deem it a 1* television. Clearly that reviewer is misguided. I watched a college football replay on cable in HD and it was great handling fast motion scenes. Personally, the 60hz mode with all the motion turned off looks the best to me for movies. With some calibration, this TV will truly shine. At 650-900 cost, this TV provides exceptional value. Gaming was great as well. Sony released this TV in August of 2014, so it is rather new.

Q: QuestionDoes this unit have a timer or alarm? The timer is a nice feature because I like to fall asleep with the TV on knowing it will turn of at a set time. Q: QuestionIs the unit 3.5" thick at the base or is the base thicker. Is the unit narrower than 3.5" or is the dimension provided for depth listing the thickest portion of the unit that is likely at the base. The 3.5" depth seems a little thick for LED TV's these days. I want a Sony over any other TV because I like the brand. Does the TV also have a timer and alarm?
Asked by Sunshine.
- A:Answer Hello Sunshine!, the dimensions for this unit are as follows : with Table-Top Stand 53 1/2 × 33 × 10 1/4 inches and without Table-Top Stand 53 1/2 × 31 1/2 × 3 1/2 inches. Q: QuestionBest Soundbar for this TV?Hi, What would be the best Soundbar to go with this TV? Would a Soundbar made by Sony work the best?
Asked by Matt.
- A:Answer I would recommend you stay away from soundbars. In my opinion, they are way over priced. You should look into this great speaker system. Onkyo LS3100 ENVISION CINEMA 2.1 It is compared to the Bose 2.1 Cinemate series. From my comparison, I found that Onkyo sounds just as good if not better than Bose.

Asked by Gigi.
