Wonderful Tech but not perfect
|Posted .This Tv is great, but has some intermited issues switching inputs. Occasionally the TV will become very very very slow to respond to any command given with remote or with controls built directly into TV. Resetting it fixes the problem. I'm sure there will be a update soon to fix this issue.

A Tale of Two TVs
Posted .Sony seem to have gotten serious about Smart TV. I have the HX909 from 2010, X900B from 2014, and X930C for 2015. I can say the picture PQ is better than last years x900B but still not better than the HX909. I look at all three TVs everyday and the HX909 just does a hell of a job at dark scenes. I compared scenes from the movie Bourne Identity on all three. This is not to say the PQ is bad, it's great and I have no complaints about the PQ. As a smart TV, Android TV seems to fix what Sony have been lacking since the Smart TV evolution. Lots of potential and promises made. If you used the TV in it's basic use case such as cable set top box via HDMI or just Netflix the TV is perfect. Here is where the TV is a disappointment. There are some apps on the TV that say basically "IOU", a firmware update, someday, is suppose to enable the feature/app. My setup is streaming live TV via Ethernet using a Silicondust Prime network tuner. The live streaming TV doesn't work, and HDHomeRun View app is flaky. Kodi seem to work but is not perfect. To watch live TV, I have to use the built in Video app. One thing I've notice is the PQ is obvious better using the Video app than using the HD View app or Kodi. Even the Video app seems to become unstable after a few uses which requires a reboot. Overall the TV is buggy as hell and I have to reboot it almost once a day. Called Sony about the problem and their answer is to reboot or factory reset. I regret pulling the trigger on Sony's first Android TV too soon. I would have given the TV 5 starts if it was stable and it worked as intended with the network tuner. One of the things I've noticed with Android TV is when you have a problems who's at fault? Sony, Android, or the App developer. If you don't have to do live streaming TV or use any of the apps, this TV is perfect. If you need to network the TV for live TV, wait as long as you can for all the bugs to be fixed or at least become somewhat stable.

great 4k picture quality for great price
Posted .i love this tv . Its one of great 4k tvs in the market . If you can't afford for FALD tv like x950b or x940c, this tv will be the best 4k tv that will give you the best upscaling picture quality. I love watching netflix and youtube more now on my tv and especially 4k movie fr amazon. Many people does not like to see the speakers on the side but it actually does not look that bad at all, especially for people does not have surround sound system or does not wanna spend extra money for soundbar, these tv speakers are perry good . I pair this tv with 2 motion 15 speakers, 1 motion 30 center speaker, dynamo 700 subwoofer and marantz receiver. They sound amazing. Its better than IMAX lol

Awesome tv
|Posted .One of the best Sony made! Couple of months ago I went to Sony store and saw this tv thought I wouldn't able to afford this tv and I'm so glade they lowered price down due to it being discontinued hopefully they'll make something similar like this one or better! The 900c had issues with light bleeds!

Unbelievable Picture and Sound Quality
|Posted .This TV is like NONE other. The picture is incredible and sound is awesome. Our old Visio TV was 10 years old and needed big clunky speakers to get the sound quality of this TV. We waited a couple of years for the price to come down and it's well worth EVERY penny!

This has been such a headache
|Posted .I have to say I have never bought a tv like this before and I was SUPER EXCITED! I bought an open box tv and purchased the 2yr geek squad protection on it. I found out it had been the stores display unit but was assured it still had the manufacture warranty and now the additional geek squad protection on it. I got home plugged it in watched a movie and went to bed. The next morning I came into the living room and saw the tv on. I thought I forgot to turn it off so I turned the tv off. To my surprise the tv turned itself back on. For 3 days I kept looking for settings or something that would make the tv stay off after I turned it off and found nothing. I called Best Buy and was told to bring it back, I advised that I had a 4x4 vacation planned and wouldn't be back for a week. My order was looked up and I was told the timeframe would still keep me in my 15 day return period. When I got home from vacation i walked in to the living room and saw the tv on. I went to turn it off and there was extreme heat radiating from it. I unplugged the tv and started checking my xbox connect and sound bar to make sure the tv hadn't melted anything. I saw a fine crack on the screen and immediately called Best Buy. They referred me to geek squad and said if they can't fix it they'll replace it. I called geek squad, they referred me to a local technician. The local technician lives an hour out of town and told me he never comes to pueblo. Once I told him the story he asked me to text him some pictures. The technician is saying Best Buy sold me a broken tv and Sony won't cover it, he says he can't get ahold of geek squad and that I should call Best Buy and argue with the manager till they replace it. My local Best Buy has an amazing staff and I guarantee their integrity is higher than selling someone a broken tv. I purchased the tv. 4/27/16 it's now 05/31/16 and have herd nothing back from Best Buy, geek squad or the technician on what's going to be the outcome from my purchase. I have to constantly be the one reaching out from a lack of follow up. The technician still keeps asking for more pictures of the tv. All I can say is tv was $2,000 for the open box display unit, I was told it was naturally a $4,000 tv. I see that the tv is $2,300 brand new. I'm very upset and unsatisfied with this outcome it has definitely not lived up to my expectations. You can't see the crack unless your really looking for it and when the tv is on it looks perfectly fine. It just the moral of the whole situation. Now the tv randomly turns on and can't pull up Netflix.

horrible
Posted .I have had this tv replaced 3 times and all 3 times have had the same result. Either I am very unlucky or there is a quality issue with this model. Very bad light bleed and dark scenes are very digital. Sony has not helped at all. Test in store before you buy if possible. Take a look at my photo. All 3 tvs that I exchanged looked exactly like this. This photo is of the first one that I purchased. BEWARE!

Picture is ok. Sound is ok. Volume is not adequate
|Posted .The picture in the store is much better. My picture at home is ok but not near as good as in the store. Sound is ok but does not sound as good as in the store. The volume is not adequate. The volume in the store was significantly louder and more enjoyable. Volume does not go loud enough at home. For $3,300.00 I was hoping for better. Kind of disappointed. But it is better than the 32 inch Samsung that I paid $200.00 for.

Q: QuestionSoundbar?Would pairing a sound bar render the TV speakers useless? If so, is there a set up that you can use with the TV speakers to add a sub-woofer and rear speakers?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer From my understanding you can't connect speakers to the 930C other than the Sony wireless subwoofer. Sony makes a wireless subwoofer that mates perfectly with the 930C.

Q: Question2016 VERSION/WEIGHTAny specific reason why there is no 2016 version for this type of TV - with speakers on the side? Considering the heavy weight of the TV , is it ok to wall mount it ? Would it be too heavy ?
Asked by SHIPRA.
- A:Answer The reason they're no longer doing the side speakers is because the consumer has spoken. Most people dont like them for some reason. So Sony listened and have gone to trying to focus on what consumers say they care about the most. Small bezzel and thinness of the tv. Sony now offers the thinest tv out. Somehow its thinner than lg's OLED. As far as mounting the tv you need to make sure you're mounting it properly. This tv is approximately 102 pounds. First thing first you need to make sure your mount supports it. Secondly since this is a heavier tv you need to make sure that all mounting screws for the back brace support are actually screwed into wood beams/studs in your house. Unlike lighter tvs this tv in no way can be supported by a mount that is only screwed into dry wall.

Q: Questionhow can i get a owner manual
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It's on the tv under the home menu. Hit home button. Scroll down to help. Even though it doesn't specifically say owners manual. Each section will pop up if you select a problem. Other than that. You can go to Sonys website and put in your model number and download the pdf.

Q: QuestionHDMI Ports / HDCP 2.2Does this television have HDCP 2.2? When I look at the specs on the 65inch model it doesn't have HDCP 2.2 listed (on Sony's website). http://www.sony.com/electronics/televisions/xbr-x940c-x930c-series/specifications
Asked by John Does.
- A:Answer Right from the spec sheet the Sony has the following MHL (Ver3, for HDMI2); HDCP (2.2, for HDMI 1/2/3/4); so the answer is yes it does.
