A: Yes the colors are deeper and vivid. Thanks to triluminous. It's like having a 24 pack of crayons vs a 8 pack.
A: Yes, this is normal. It is not adjustable. I may add a wooden spacer under the base with the back of the spacer slightly higher than the front. This would raise the TV high enough for a sound bar to set in front of the set and change the angle a little as well.
A: I had a 55" 900e in my house for about a month. The picture was great. The only problem is that it was too small for our living room. I returned it for a 65" 850e. I'm not enough of a techy to tell the difference between the full array display or edge lit. I'm happy I saved some money because I certainly can't tell the difference. The picture setting options are almost identical to the 900e. It sounds like you'll be using the TV exactly how I'm using mine. 4k viewing and occasional gaming. I'm happy I saved $400 and went with the 850e. You can buy a pretty good sounds bar with the money you saved and you WILL need one because the sound on any TV these days is awful. I bought the VIZIO - SmartCast 36" 5.1-Channel Soundbar System with 5" Wireless Subwoofer and Digital Amplifier. It costs around $200.
A: Hi mike, Absolutely. Kindly use High-Speed HDMI 2.0 cables. Thanks, >Joffrey
A: The 850E lacks a handful of high end feature as compared to the 900E that may or may not be important to you. Specifically, the 850E lacks something called 'local dimming' which create deeper blacks. Deeper blacks create greater contrast and a every so slightly brighter picture. Having said that, the 4500:1 contrast ratio on the 850E should be more than sufficient for most viewers. If you watch a lot of true 4K content or have 4K gaming equipment, you might feel the difference is worth the extra money.
A: So i did some research and found that only tvs with x1 extreme processor will get the update. And alas the 850 and even the 900 are not xtreme so they will not get dv update. Only the 930 and up .
A: Hi CaptBob, Here are the dimensions of the package carton (W X H X D). 1570 x 951 x 196 mm (61 7/8 x 37 1/2 x 7 3/4 inch). We also recommend you to visit this link to check its specification. https://www.sony.com/electronics/televisions/XBR-X850E-Series/specifications -Jerome
A: That is what the source resolution is that is being sent to the TV and then the TV up-scales that signal to 4K if it is lower than 4K.
