Great 4K HDR TV Option Short of OLED
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After conducting a titanic amount of research, I landed on this 4K HDR TV for my upstairs bonus room where I have my Xbox One X, Playstation 4 Pro and desktop PC, that I use to stream Xfinity TV. This was one of the few options available that offered an IPS screen, plus it has great reviews, an incredible price and its a Sony. In summary, if you are looking for a 4K HDR TV that won't break the bank, this is a great option. Pros: -Gorgeous picture -Size is perfect for a large room -Looks great in lighted rooms -Viewing angles are excellent due to the IPS screen -Smart TV features are excellent, YouTube and Netflix offer 4K streaming -Includes both Wifi and Ethernet Internet connection options -Easy to set up, for example logging into my Google account so I could make good use of the included Android TV was drop dead simple -Remote is functional -Football has never looked this good, the included Live Football Viewing Mode helps reduce some of the picture distortion -4 HDMI ports -Metal stand, newer Sony TVs in this price range have a plastic stand -Price - $999 during Black Friday weekend Cons: -Not a good TV for viewing in the dark, blacks are not nearly as dark as what you would see on a good computer monitor or an OLED TV -Contrast ratio is not great, meaning a VA panel (I have several) will give you darker blacks and whiter whites, but lousy viewing angles -Only the HDMI 2 & 3 ports allow for full 4K HDR 60 hz performance, which is critical for maximum enjoyment of your Xbox One X, Playstation 4 Pro or Gaming PC, Sony does not make this clear, I found this information on rtings.com -Box is gigantic, it barely fit in the back of my wife's Tahoe -TV is heavy and cumbersome, you will almost certainly need two people to set it up and place it, particularly if you are going to wall mount it -Picture adjustment and calibration takes patience, gaming mode makes no discernible difference -HDR is nice, but you can do better at the higher end, difference is not as striking as I would have thought

Sony Quality - Bargain Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to start by saying that this TV is amazing. I purchased this just before the holidays and have had several guests compliment the picture quality and brightness. Not only that but, I paid what I thought was a fair price. You can't go wrong with Sony products as their brand has obviously been proven throughout the years. The images are sharp and colors are bright. The screen can be clearly seen at every angle. The "smart" section is easy to navigate and set up was a breeze. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to add to their family or living room. A+

Very Good TV with some gotcha's
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony made a wonderful TV, however the inbuilt speaker is not that good. Day 1 after installation, I tried to watch some shows which were HD and some which were not. Both with sound from TV and sound using the receiver. Here are the observations: TV sound was not effective, even when I put the volume all the way up to max! I didnt expect that from Sony. Typically I think Sony as a company which makes products of quality picture and best sound. Because of 65 inch TV, I believe when I watched some shows which were not HD, the quality of the picture was not good, I was expecting some kind of backward compatibility with picture quality. So all in all, I found issues with both sound and picture, however I am not disappointed, as I have a receiver which will cover the sound and most of the pictures in today's world are HD or higher. However any existing old DVD's might be an issue! Do not go by the advertised picture associated with the model, actual TV itself is very nice than the advertised picture. It would be nice if the advertised picture associated with the model XBR65X750D be changed, at some point I was not going to buy it because of the dull look it had! I purchased it because of the good reviews it had. Having good pictures for the products would potentially drive up for more sales! Just a suggestion for Sony Usability team! :)

Would have been great ,but.....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Bravia has a superior picture quality and great upscaling ability. It has an elegant look because of its thinness and bezel color. The only problem with this television is the common complaint of everybody which is "light bleed". I had several trips to bestbuy because of this problem. The light bleed usually occurs in the corners of the tv when Viewing dark scene and in a dark ambient room. I tried to justify this problem with the term "IPS GLOW" because I really like the picture quality. But like I said, the bleed was so annoying. Probably it is a personal preference because a lot of people have a good review for this TV. I would recommend this for simple people who will not care for the light bleed. But for people who seek overall excellent picture production, then this tv is not for you. Better get the Samsung SUDH line of 4K tv.

Haven't had this very long, but I like it so far.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv to replace a 60" Sharp. I don't really feel like it appears bigger than the 60" maybe because of the border around the old tv. I kind of wish I had gotten a 70". Oh well! I like the tv so far; nice picture.

Nice TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super nice TV and got it for super cheap. The TV on the stand is a 60” plasma. 65” seems huge compared to it

Q: QuestionWhy is the Sony XBR65X850D $500 more expensive than the Sony XBR65X750D when they both seem to be the same?
Asked by Tony.
- A:Answer The 850 has what is known as the Triluminous Display...I personally bought the 750 because I didn't see $500 difference side by side. Actually, to me, the 750 looked better!

Q: QuestionJust picked up this TV yesterday and I'm not impressed. I updated the TV and the picture quality still isn't above and beyond the Vizio 65" currently priced over $300 below. Am I missing something? Do I need to activate HDR? I'm thinking of returning.
Asked by Marc.
- A:Answer Hello Marc, thank you for your message. The HDR Video mode on the TV is an enhanced picture mode for HDR format videos that can be accessed from the menu of the TV. It is necessary to enable the HDMI Enhanced format of the Android 4K TV to activate the HDR feature. Press the HOME button of the supplied remote control. / Select Settings. / Scroll down to External Inputs and press Enter. Select HDMI signal format. Oscar.

Q: QuestionI'm thinking of either getting this TV or the Samsung 65 inch suhd with hdr..I have always gone with Samsung but I also know Sony is good too! Their is a 800 dollar difference is it worth the difference? .I want an honest opinion?
Asked by Dustin.
- A:Answer Samsung's warranty isn't worth paying less. The Sony tv's are clearly the best out there. I was amazed at how well this tv looked. The picture quality is like being in a movie theater. We paid 999.99.

Q: QuestionDoes this TV come with an Anti-Glare display or more of a True View or glossy display. My 40" Sony has an Anti-Glare and after having it I wouldn't have it any other way.
Asked by CharlieHustle.
- A:Answer I have both a 40 inch and a 65 inch Sony. The 65 UHD w dynamic range is definitely not glossy. I have it in a room that gets plenty of sunlight, yet it doesn't impede viewing.
Answered by Hermes
Q: QuestionDoes it have digital audio output? Digital video input?
Asked by Dave.
- A:Answer Yes.
Answered by Mark
Q: QuestionIs HDR noticeable on this TV for basic sports and cable watching or will I need HDR blurays to notice a difference?
Asked by Erin.
- A:Answer Hi Erin, The HDR enhancing feature is only applicable when viewing contents on HDR format. It can be obtained through an HDR capable source device that is connected to the HDMI input of the TV and a streaming service that offers HDR movies and videos (Netflix® app and Amazon steaming). -Jerome
